Thread title is work stoppage. It is about the business of baseball.
-
@South Side Hit MenSo while you wring your hands over the fate of millionaire players who would easily cross the picket lines of the plumber’s union to get their gold plated toilets unstuck from all their shit, I’ll worry about the concession workers, car lot attendants, local businesses and everyone else who actually works for a living and truly suffers with a work stoppage. Bring on scab baseball. Let some cop, or teacher, insurance agent, put on the uniform and step into a pro locker room. I’ll side with thousandaires struggling to pay the rent and put food on the table, you take the millionaires. Your support during the strike, and $10, will get their autograph of thanks.

Yep billionaires fighting with millionaires and some people actually pick sides. Lmao. All yours man. Get yourself all worked up over it. Get really pissed. Make idle threats. Get that gut all twisted up over those poor millionaires getting screwed over by Jerry. Why not start your own thread about Jerry and Tony and post hourly how horrible they are? Do lots of research, post lots of links. I have other things to do. Enjoy your off season.

At least the fans aren’t footing the bill for higher and higher player salaries.
-
So you don’t want anyone to cross the picket line? Players, managers, front office, minor leaguers ?

Rick Hahn 2021 End of Season Press Conference

You mean like trading for the best relief pitcher in the NL? That should have been the kind of depth that wins. -

Batting line ups are also affected. Pitchers adjust to whose on deck. You’ll see different pitches. Admittedly it’s a minor issue overall in baseball compared to other team sports. One thing I noticed this year is the team never really peaked. Mostly due to injuries but there wasn’t that two or three week stretch where they really came together and hit a stride. I think they were still trying to find that in October and it hurt them. -

You just said six different in one week. At three different a week it’s less than 90 scheduled games together. Then toss in an injury or ten . . . -

Balanced against no chance to gel with a different player next to you each day. -

Agreed. Minor point, a segment of posters here like playing matchups, so they want line ups de jour. I prefer multiple starters resting on the same day instead of six different lineups each week with one starter resting each day of the week. -

There seems to be a consensus here that players do not want to play for him. I’m not certain that’s correct. I wonder if any fan base is ever happy with their manager or ownership. I’m worn out of being unhappy with our managers. -

Lots of people disliked Ozzie here even during 2005, especially every Sunday and the month of September. -

Will you take the opinion of posters on a message board that players don’t want to play for him? -

So your star players all publicly support the manager. Do you make a change? Throughout his career, guys seem to like to play for him. I guess I’m just tired of being unhappy with Sox managers going back to the quitter Ozzie days. -
So he plays his first mlb season without an injury? I'm thinking two injuries and 88 games.
-
OK. I'll agree he might not be THAT fragile but if you were a Vegas oddsmaker where would you put the over under on the number of Nick starts in 2022? I think 100 would be an interesting point. I think I'd take the under no matter where he is playing.
-
Exactly. I like the guy and enjoyed watching him play more than I liked the replacements we needed to send out there while he was hurt. But it's a crap shoot that he'll ever play 100 games.

Lol. Yeah, carts were everywhere.

Nitengale: La Russa "definitely" returning to the Sox
Texsox replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Let's follow the logic. Tim said Renteria was great. I said Renteria was horrible. Tim says Larussa is great, I say he's horrible. I say Tim still doesn't know shit about managing. But hey, I get you agree with Tim. Tony isn't all horrible and perhaps there are a few guys Tony can manage well. -

A simple it's not my call instead of writing a love letter. It's like he actually likes playing for a Hall of Fame Manager. -

“For me, yeah, I want him to be back. But at the end of the day, my decision don't really matter,” Anderson said. “So I guess it all depends on what the front office thinks, but from my half, as far as speaking from a player's standpoint, for sure. I definitely want him in. “He did a great job with the way he managed and just being open. You know when we took the field, we were going to go out and play hard for him and give him everything we got.” Obviously Tim Anderson doesn't know shit about managing baseball or the White Sox. Trade him. -

We could help you out by suspending your account. ? -
It's just our bad luck. Like trading for the top relief pitcher in the NL who shits the bed the rest of the season.
-
Whatever they do it will turn out wrong.
