  1. I don't believe MLB would allow the Sox to trade Kimbrel for any thing, I believe it has to be a who. The thread title is technically incorrect. I still can't wrap my head around the fact he can only close. Imagine if Hahn traded for a below average set up man and said he's going to be a Top 5 closer because there isn't enough pressure in the 8th.
  2. So now he gets to finish the season. He reminds me a bit like Jim Boylen. Nice guy, lots of potential, good credentials, things just didn't work out. I hope he gets another shot down the road.
  3. I was speaking generally about that list. At $8 mil, sure a 20 year contract would move the team up.
  4. It's a huge swing on one player. If it misses you are crippled for a few years.
  5. Or, "we will be evaluating all positions after the season".
  6. I'm not disagreeing with most of your post. However, I'm not certain locking in that much money, over that long of a time, is a good idea. Starting with how did the Rangers do with ARod? So the team drops $200 mil on (insert current player here) tomorrow, will that really make a difference?
  7. I believe it's a group effort. I like the front office. They've had some hits and some misses. So I'll keep some of the blame on his shoulders as well as some of them praise. Although it's easier to just blame JR for everything bad or say it's all bad and hate them all.
  8. I doubt he'll be picking up much of anything for a while.
  9. I imagine he can't even start any rehab work for a couple months.
  10. 2023. That's a long road.
  11. In fairness it seems like in this case they could hold him off the ballot this year. Then drop him entirely if found guilty or back on if innocent.
  12. Then he forced the other puppy to play fetch long after he was too tired to play.
  13. Lol Ok. Have you gone one day without slamming Tony or JR in a post? I get it Ricky, you're bitter about getting fired for one of JR's drunken cronies. I wish some team would hire you. But looking at your record what fan base would accept?
  14. Way to work Tony's DUI into the post. I had butterscotch pancakes for breakfast, I bet Tony would say hold the butter. Lol. Let's all play the game.
  15. What we really need to get rid of are human players.
  16. I think teams like the Mets, Marlins, and Tigers should be embarrassed. It's also misleading to just look at the largest contract by itself. I believe average payroll tells more. Signing one player to a $200 million contract to move up the list then play cheap everywhere else isn't good money management. But, I do agree we don't have an owner/ organization willing to go big on one contract.
  17. I didn't read that at all in the article. He's been doing this for along time and decided this is his last contract. If anything he might feel an extra allegiance to Reinsdorf for actually hiring him. Reinsdorf is actually a living example of what Kenny is asking for, owners willing to give minority candidates a chance.

One day with a Pixel 6. So far making the transition from Samsung has been easy.
  19. And then there are folks who don’t want to die at work. Retirement is a financial condition not an age. He could enjoy the fruits of his labor while watching games from a villa in Tuscany or whatever he wants to do. If he has only two more years on the contract I wouldn’t be shocked if he retired.

Especially when the reduced price is what someone would normally spend and the regular price is crazy.

    Thank you. Routine stuff.

Photobucket just tried the if you don’t opt out we’re moving you from free to $100 per year. It took a couple days but they relented and refunded my payment. I hadn’t used them in years and was literally in the hospital when the emails arrived.
  23. I like Kenny a little more after his statement. I like being a Sox fan a little more when I realize the number of barriers the organization has broken.
