The Hotel Granduca in Austin had to evacuate all guests at 3:30 am because of a reported fire in the building. Guess how I know? I really wish I thought to grab my truck keys. I could unlock, start, fire up the generator, but not actually drive anywhere. Fortunately we were back inside about a half hour later. We smelled smoke from the kitchen area so they must have caught something before it was a bigger problem. I'll be interested at checkout what they are doing to compensate the guests. At close to $300 a night I'm hoping for something more than a later checkout.
  2. It was. We had a great time. My grandson was watching his first game in person. It wouldn't have been as much fun if I was an alum.
  3. Great game if you like offense.
  4. Heading to the UT Kansas game today. It should be a nice way to end a losing streak.
  5. What are they using now?

Amazon or any outdoor store in bear country. Best $40 insurance you can buy.

When will you defend yourself? After they kill your family? We keep protecting the criminals until they run the world. Pull a gun on me and we'll see who shoots first.

Bear spray works nice. Or just give them your car. It reduces their stress when people just go along with the criminals. I'm certain they get a little nervous before jacking someone's car. If they knew folks will just politely place their valuables on the passenger seat and exit their vehicle it would allow the thieves to drive off safely. That easy everyone's stress would go down and no one gets hurt. Perhaps have a decal on your car that shows you won't shoot them or hit them with a face full of mace. That way the criminal won't get all nervous and hurt the victims.
  9. I look at the ages and calculate how many more years for myself. 90 seems ok.
  10. Trade him while his value is highest.

And what's the best way to not give up your car?
  12. I know I felt cheated.

In the end living a normal life after a traumatic event like that is the most important part. I doubt there is much of a difference in what, if any, punishment happens. You still have the nightmares.

Do you really care if they get charged? You still were carjacked and have to deal with all that trauma.

The carjackers will follow their victims to the suburbs. Just like any business wants customers. You really won’t be safe anywhere.
  16. I’m interested in where he signs and for how much. If another team has him examined and signs him to a multi year deal, I’m pissed with you. But I’ll wait and see how this turns out.
  17. I was hanging with JR at a Murder She Wrote festival and he said he is looking at Plan B Medicare Benefits. I was intrigued.
  18. Hmm. How many teams have his full medical report? And that one doesn't seem interested.
  19. Without research and just thinking as I type, knowing there are always a couple gms willing to gamble. On the standard kind of deal side he'd get offered three years with options on a fourth at about $12 mil to $14 mil each. I'm not seeing a 3/45 with his history. So he'd face 1/16 with a huge 2023 free agent contract if he's successful for a full season or 3/36. I think that becomes a tough choice for him. But as mentioned, it's just tossing my first thoughts out there. I'll backpedal in a moment with other predictions.
  20. Here’s a little nightmare. What if you could get more for Liam?
  21. He's going to rebound and have a solid 2022. Because that's how we roll.
  22. I'll take the under. I was thinking 150.
