  1. He's either going to make some GM look brilliant or look like the biggest fool. What's his over under on innings pitched next year?
  2. I can't image it any other way.
  3. I much as I don't like to believe it, it seems like what we learned is get to October and hope like hell your back end players catch fire.

Greg is afraid of being carjacked and other violent crimes. As he pointed out, criminals have guns. If some guy just shot my wife and was aiming at one of my kids, you bet I'd rather have one of my guns in my hand than a cell phone or pepper spray. I may write to Greg in a joking way, but if Greg is serious about his fears, he needs a gun. I don't know how he sleeps at night. He also needs hours of training and many hours more of shooting practice. There are areas of this world this aren't pretty. If he has a job that takes him to those spots, perhaps late at night, he needs to protect himself.
  5. I'm certain someone would.
  6. I wish no WS being played was an option. I'd like to gauge that likelihood.
  7. I can't wait to see what they will do with healthy players. I'm certain Anderson is happy and it's important to keep your stars happy.
  8. As proven over and over here, this is one of the worst franchises in baseball. Advocating for keeping anything is tough. They should get a fresh start with new owners in a new city. Clear out everything and start over.
  9. @Balta1701 How old were you in you in 1994?

An alternative to what? Pepper sauce? The bad guys have guns. You need a bigger gun
  11. I'm not defending UTSA pool placement, their strength of schedule is very weak. Their only quality win was over Illinois. But gee at least get their name right.

And Greg, that iron won’t help anyone unless you get some serious training and stay sharp. You tend to freak out over shadow problems and some folks here have written to ol’ Tex and told him that G7 might be a tad too overreactionary for a serious weapon. A famous lawman of the 60s only carried one bullet and he wouldn’t load it unless there was a serious problem. He may be your role model. Don’t go all Dirty Harry when you feel those seven pounds of manhood on your hip.

You keep saying that until it will be too late. Get yourself to a nice gun shop this afternoon. I’d consider buying at least three. Something small and concealable on your person at all times. Then, in a slick car holster, something with a little more bang for when multiple bad guys are coming at you. Finally a good old shotgun for hunting up some food or stopping folks from stealing your provisions. Less than a $1,000 and you will travel and sleep so much better. Don’t forget the ammo!
  14. Do you think they will lose? Money? Never happens. They just take more of the fan’s money and hand it to the players while keeping their cut the same or even find a way to make more money. so ok, maybe they will win also. But they won’t lose. The only losers will be the fans again.
  15. Thebowners will give in on some player demands then raise prices or blackmail some government for some tax breaks and their profits will be just fine. They won’t lose.

  17. It's all their faults. No one is advocating for the fans and the fans won't advocate for themselves. Instead they cheer one side or the other when both sides are just trying to take more money from them. In the end the players will win a little, the owners will break even, and the fans will lose again.
  18. Prices will never decline, at best they hold steady or increase at less than the rate of inflation.
  19. And the solution will be fans paying more to the players. Open your wallet, how much do you want to contribute to Adam's next contract?
  20. They are just fighting over how to divide up the money fans spend. In the end fans will have to spend more money to keep the millionaires and billionaires happy. Post free agency, teams are making more, players are making more, and fans are spending more. Higher salaries for players equals higher cost for fans, never lower team profits. But hey if you see a player they may sell you their autograph.
  21. Thread title is work stoppage. It is about the business of baseball.
  22. @South Side Hit MenSo while you wring your hands over the fate of millionaire players who would easily cross the picket lines of the plumber’s union to get their gold plated toilets unstuck from all their shit, I’ll worry about the concession workers, car lot attendants, local businesses and everyone else who actually works for a living and truly suffers with a work stoppage. Bring on scab baseball. Let some cop, or teacher, insurance agent, put on the uniform and step into a pro locker room. I’ll side with thousandaires struggling to pay the rent and put food on the table, you take the millionaires. Your support during the strike, and $10, will get their autograph of thanks.
  23. Yep billionaires fighting with millionaires and some people actually pick sides. Lmao. All yours man. Get yourself all worked up over it. Get really pissed. Make idle threats. Get that gut all twisted up over those poor millionaires getting screwed over by Jerry. Why not start your own thread about Jerry and Tony and post hourly how horrible they are? Do lots of research, post lots of links. I have other things to do. Enjoy your off season.
  24. At least the fans aren’t footing the bill for higher and higher player salaries.
