  1. Tony complained the call was for *high* and inside, throw inside but low was the message.
  2. Perez called for a high and inside pitch knowing his guy didn't have command. That's why Tony "white Bronco" chased after Perez. When it happened I wondered why Tony was upset because clearly it wasn't intentional. Once I heard his explanation I love his reaction even if it was comical in execution.
  3. Bad math? Without knowing who the runners are, who is pitching, who is due up, the inning, the score, and countless other facts it's impossible to say if it's bad math or not. We can sit here and come up with an endless list of scenarios when bunting is a horrible option. We can also come up with some where it's an excellent option. Winning teams know the difference and use every tool and strategy available.
  4. That's got to be part of the evaluation. Also they have to predict how he'll recover from surgery, future health issues, etc.
  5. It sounds like your saying if we can't make a deal for our top need so we won't make any moves to improve the team?
  6. How many folks write $$$$$ checks to the science department? How many fans buy tickets to watch a history lecture? Taxpayers have much to gain when their state schools are playing well. The revenue sports deposit not withdraw from the university and, perhaps more importantly, inject cash into the local economies. Locally here UT-SA has seen a nice increase in applications from out of the area students. They attribute it in part to the Roadrunners football team being on national TV eight times last year and playing in a bowl game. It put their campus in front of more kids than an ad on Twitter or a splashy website. I teach seniors in a class that helps them get into college, pay for college, and be successful while in college. I will have 20 to 30 recruiters in my classroom throughout this fall. Every one will either brag about how much fun attending big games are, they will highlight some sports centric activity, or if they don't have athletics they will try to minimize the factor. It's the front window to the university.
  7. Did you miss when the Sox had bases loaded and didn't score one run? We can find examples of how every strategy works and every strategy fails. Winning teams beat the market. They have more tools available and can effectively use them.
  8. Liam marking his territory.
  9. Or calling a couple hookers, he's feeling frisky.
  10. I love the Guardians.
  11. Accident. You can't fake his reaction.
  12. Let's wait until they aren't in the league. Maybe there will be an easier year to try to win.
  13. That's optimistic for a player with back to back seasons with surgery.
  14. Yeah picking up the best reliever in baseball for an injured guy when you're trying to win a world series now.
  15. I was in the ER at Highland Park Hospital. We stayed and watched the chase.
  16. 1. Sometimes it's fit. 2. Lol. 3. True
  17. Sports world. Clinton is my political world time stamp.
  18. If baseball worked liked a business. Tepera "Hey guys, cool party, I worked with this guy at my old place, we should get him over here . . ." I was doing a little research. I'm certain Tony liked the old school throwing at the guy who threw at your guy and getting suspended for it thing.
