Two years ago our neighboring school district , who names their schools for heroes, amid tremendous emotions renamed Robert E Lee High School (Lee High School) to Legacy of Education Excellence L.E.E. High School. A brilliant in my opinion solution because neither side claimed victory. Everyone was united in disliking the name. The pressure is back and they will probably be renaming again.

I'm going on a drive and want to binge-listen to something new. Recommendations?
  4. Let's just play a double elimination tournament and call it a year. I might only be half joking. Looking at the college programs, Trumps staff for the rally, etc all with multiples of infected people and all I can think is why try?
  5. And still tens of thousands will pour into the stadium. I'm not certain what it says about his charisma, leadership, and charm or the intelligence of his devotees.
  6. The longer the season the better chance of it turning into a Covid circus with teams decimated by illnesses trying to field a team.
  7. They are real 'mericans!
  8. Twenty games and a outbreak ends the season.
  9. He's greedy or his clients are greedy? His job is to do what his clients want him to do. Do you really think grown men, professional athletes who compete every day, just cower behind him and do what he tells them to do while they give him millions for the pleasure? You know all this about him and how he operates. How do the guys that sign with him not know? Are they just clueless and sign with Boras because no one else will accept them? I believe they know exactly what they are getting and that is exactly what they want and why they hire him. Later, they can hide behind him and he'll take all the PR flack so the athlete can keep their endorsements (which he negotiates and earns a fee for). Athletes are competitive. If you've been around any you know it isn't just competitive in their sport. They know exactly what the other guys are earning. They are competitive in salaries as well. No one dreams about being paid below market, but they do dream about being the highest paid at their position or in their sport. Boras helps them to get there. If players just wanted to help their clubs they would not hire an agent and just accept whatever the team wants to offer.
  10. We opened high school strength and conditioning camps and almost immediately a few teams had to shut down do to outbreaks. I'm trying to figure out how to keep my golf team safe, I have no idea how contact sports will manage.

I bought windshield wipers for $38,000 and Ford gave me a free F150. I wonder how dealerships decide what to call "free". We know that there has to be a profit for the manufacturer. The buyer pays for everything. I assume marketing tests different slogans and incentives on test subjects and sees what works. Of course the smart buyer works that into their overall cost analysis of the vehicle before making a decision.
  12. Are you suggesting that a player may not want to go to free agency, hires Boras, and then is forced to go free agency? That the player A. Doesn't know how Boras operates (but fans do) and B. Is forced to do what Boras wants?
  13. So you believe a different agent could have gotten him a bigger payday? How?
  14. So you believe if you sign with Boras you don't have any say in what he negotiates for you? You just go off to the Bahamas and wait for him to tell you where you are playing and for how much? He works for you. You are paying him so you look good. He does your dirty work. Let's walk through this using your example. "I want $100M" "No. If you sign with me we're going for $200M or bust and you're out of the league. No middle ground" That's not how it goes. If I'm trying for $100M I want a guy that has negotiated a lot contracts at that level. Not some mid tier lawyer who will shit his pants at that number and get me $75M.
  15. Any decent agent will take the PR hit for his client. That helps the player which helps the agent. People seem to think that all Boras has to do is say something and players and owners somehow just fall under a spell and agree. Who know if the players accepted his advice or rejected it?

No doubt. There does seem to be a greater investment in time and convenience.

After getting my first pickup I can't imagine not owning one. I have a travel trailer to tow so that almost automatically puts me in a truck. Best of all is heading to the bulk supplier for mulch, grabbing a sheet of plywood, etc. is so convenient. Plus five passenger comfort. Literally I can fit three adults in the back seat and they aren't touching and they have leg room. My son has a Tesla and they are heading on a trip today. They have to plan a 30 minute stop at a Super Charger midway on the trip. Then hope the destination charger at the hotel isn't being used. He's also planning a trip this summer and the route is being dictated by super chargers. I'm not ready yet to give up my back roads driving. I'm brand agnostic in about everything. In cars I can think of at least six brands I've owned. I was thinking there has to be at least a couple examples but about all I can think of is if I'm playing for anything important I'll be playing a Titleist ProV1. My last four cell phones have been Samsung and Mr. Davis and Tommy Bahama dress me most days.
  18. I suppose you could look for the perfect agent. Someone without any experience or with just a couple clients and they would not have any failures on their resumes. If that is the path you chose go for it. I'll take the guy with a ton of successes against a handful of failures. Isn't it great we both have choices?
  19. Perhaps not, but he'd be the one I judge the others against.
  20. https://www.tpr.org/post/under-cloud-coronavirus-fears-northside-isd-plans-online-only-options-fall?utm_term=Autofeed&utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Facebook#Echobox=1592446183 Basically my school system wants the kids who are most in need in the building every day. Next most needy, three days, next most two days, and the fourth group will be 100% on line. I'm so happy we're looking at the full needs of our students going beyond the academics.
  21. Which is why I don't see any league finishing a season.
  22. Thank you, I'm feeling better already.
  23. I wish I was a bystander to this.
