  1. A MLB, NBA, NFL, or NHL team is the most solid investment you could make. I'm not certain the same rules apply. Investment Banks don't draft the top MBAs coming out of college and tell them they can only work here. Insurance companies don't have exclusive territories where no other insurance company can open shop. No one is limiting hotels to 30 in the country. It's an artificial arena that rarely exists anywhere else. So once we start allowing team owners that artificial arena, there needs to be artificial market rules to protect everyone else, including the fans and players. I'll agree that owners are too often unfairly maligned, given too much blame or credit, and their contribution should be respected.
  2. There is value beyond the PR in an accurate consistent count.
  3. We all know that. You do realize you are helping them. Your ranting makes you 100% complicit and you are an enemy of 'merica. You are trying to make Americans feel bad, to give up, to lose. You are our enemy. But your communist propaganda won't work here. We're strong. We're resilient more than you and your comrades give us credit for. We've banded together and are united in not getting professional hair cuts and all your commie whining and trying to convince us it's wrong has no affect. We're letting our freedom flags fly proudly from sea to shining sea!!

  5. Yep, had one scheduled then some dude went and stabbed one employee and shot and killed another as they were trying to reopen the shop. Now I'm waiting for Sports Clips to have less than a three hour wait. I'll probably check again with them in a few weeks. Thanks for asking! I enjoy G7's daily status report about his unsanitary hair, how he can't find a mask, then can't find a mask that fits his big head and glasses, then can't get it tied. I would love to work Improv with him, he is amazing at offering people stuff they can work with. This thread is filled with stressful news from around the world then boom, G7 jumps in with statements like we're going to be one of the poorest countries on the planet by the end of the year, or 60% unemployment and starvation, or he's going to catch the virus in a germy airport bathroom.
  6. Well bless your heart thinking of everybody that way. I'm wondering why you would make such a suggestion when you already know about things like unemployment insurance, WIC, SNAP, and other government programs to keep people fed.
  7. G7 circa 1941 "G7 we have to join the Army. They just bombed is, we have to fight!" "But can I get a haircut? I'm not joining if I can't a haircut. No beach invasions with long hair" G7 Circa 1961 "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country" "But can I get a haircut? I'm not doing anything if I can't a haircut."
  8. Agreed. G7 will catch it. That's just the way it is. Why wait? The purpose of life is to get a disease. To spread it to others. The purpose of life is to get a haircut (the wait at my local Sports Clips is over four hours right now and my usual place didn't open after a shooting and stabbing). That's the secret to a happy life! Getting sick! The purpose to life CAN be found in an airport bathroom, just ask around about which bathroom. I agree that's exactly where you will catch "it". Let us know how it turns out for you.
  9. https://news4sanantonio.com/news/local/air-force-thunderbirds-to-fly-over-san-antonio-austin-on-may-12 I'm looking forward to this. Turns out we will be about a half mile from their route. I should have a great view from my back yard.
  10. First rule: Never play with your own money.
  11. Y'all have G7 hogtied in some closet? Git the little feller with the big hat out here to ask his own question. But gee whiz that G7 guy has himself a vision, he is seeing the big picture. The poooltical lannndscape is fixin' to change. There will be some winners and losers. Yep, some of these local folks may ride that wave to the penthouse, others to the outhouse. I'm waiting for the first Vote for Joe face masks to come out; that will be a humdinger of political memorabilia.
  12. Tell 775 that's what Tex means to tell y'all. Tex believes that folks that are planning on spending a month or more on that island paradise may opt to spend a couple weeks in self quarantine. Tex is also thinking that there are worse places to spend two weeks naked eating room service. All you need is to get yourself a little Texas tornado if y'all get my drift.
  13. A close friend took her husband from a facility because of the risk and hired a part time nurse. His dementia causes him to be violent at times but so far it's been working out.
  14. A friend of mine in Hawaii posted a story of a honeymoon couple there that kept telling the hotel manager they were allowed to go out. They were arrested for ignoring the self-quarantine order.
  15. This is instead of prorated salaries.
  16. I keep hearing this in my head
  17. Kevin Mathews had a better version.
  18. https://www.foxbusiness.com/lifestyle/rv-sales-surge-during-coronavirus-lockdown-orders I'm a little surprised but it makes sense.
  19. The strings may be too short. Hobby Lobby has extenders.
  20. Once again Tex can explain it for you but he can't understand it for you. He posted about his local Sports Clips and the steps they are taking now that they are reopen. It is normal for people to stay on topic. Hey look a squirrel!!
  21. LOL. No sharpeners in my classroom. This is a current production. Funny you should mention it but I found one of the original built in the 1950s, must have weighed ten pounds, version at an antique store. Damn thing had a $75 price tag. It was nearly pristine in condition. Just enough wear to give it that authentic feel.
  22. What do you think? Safe or unsafe? I've been to half a dozen doctor's appointments in the past month, this doesn't seem much worse than that risk.
  23. LOL who would have imagined they would be selling those?
  24. I guess I just misspelled misery.
  25. Shh. he doesn't realize most people buy that stuff in bulk. Scrap wood challenges have been very popular the past month or two.
