I remember trying to track one down that would stop when we flipped the breaker. It was in a vacation property that a friend owned. It wasn't until about a month later when someone who was renting the "in-law unit" complained about the smoke alarm that we realized that circuit actually covered a couple outlets on the "other side".

Actually yes, it is too soon. You don't know what you really need until summer and you don't know what kind of season the possible hole filler is having.

Is the HS team officially recognized as a sport or is it intramural / club level? In Texas it is not officially recognized through our state sports organization. We have a pretty good team here and it is well supported as a club but not at the same level as if it were part of our sports umbrella.

As we are getting near the end of the school year I am trying to think of some things to do for my graduating seniors. What have teachers done that you remember? Any suggestions?

Some just love to argue. That is not my intent. Isn't it always more constructive to try to reach some consensus on such topics? Here is on what we can probably agree: 1) The offense will be better than it has been, so far. 2) It should be better than last year's. 3) There are still several significant question marks. 4) If the offense does not markedly improve, the Sox are in trouble. What the final word in this great post lacks in hyperbole it more than makes up in understatement.

OK. So we know it is something on ac current without a battery. Next step is to isolate all of the electrical outlets on that circuit. Also, is this between floors? Between rooms? Attic and top floor? Does that breaker also control outlets and switches in another room? Does it stop if a smoke alarm is not plugged in? BTW, those plug in alarms are about $15 at homestores everywhere if you want to put in a new one.

Here are a couple steps to trouble shoot the problem. Step 1. Shut down all the electric to the house. This will tell you if the problem is battery operated or wired in. If it is battery driven: Completely discharge the fire alarms by holding down the test button with the unit unplugged. It will be noisy. Check for anything that may have a low battery alarm, security systems (may be a legacy system), various smoke and fume sensors, timers, thermostats, ovens, etc. If it is hard wired, begin flipping on breakers until the beeping resumes. Then try and trace the circuit as best as possible. I'll try to think of some other things it could be.
