Don't Ask Don't Tell.
We just have to look how racism stopped after slavery was outlawed. To know that gays will be fully accepted. Anyone that thinks being allowed = accepted is being unrealistic. I do agree that people should grow up and it shouldn't be an issue, but it will be.

Don't Ask Don't Tell.
I believe in all this, one point is being missed, the military is unlike any other work place. There are a few jobs similar, but none quite like life and death while deep in some jungle or a desert. Those that seek to oversimplify the situation, for very good reasons I will add, are doing a disservice to those that serve. Support for gays openly serving starts out very strong for those not in the military, then steadily declines the closer you get to having the enemy shooting at you. At least from the stats I heard last week. Not certain what is all should mean, but we seem to be painting this into a blacker and whiter issue than what it really is. And y'all know what a liberal I am, so I would hope no one paints me out to be some homophobe.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 18, 2010 -> 12:03 PM) We basically did that...except instead of giving it to every american, we gave it to about 35 guys in Manhattan. It will trickle down to us in no time at all . . .

Bobby Jenks to the Red Sox
QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Dec 16, 2010 -> 05:54 PM) I'll kinda miss Bobby and I'll hate seeing him in a Red Sox uniform but that's the way it goes. If and when we face him I hope we clobber him but best of luck to him otherwise. ^^ I pretty much dislike all our threads when a player is leaving.

XM Radio
Picked up an onyX for my girlfriend last night. We also bought the home kit. I guess we're at the next phase of our relationship, gifts of coffee makers (Kuerig) and radios. She asked why we needed the home kit, and before I could tell her she saw the channel lineup and said, this is so *we* can listen to the Sox games

Don't Ask Don't Tell.
Last week I watched Glory five times and the small parallels between the 54th Massachusetts Regiment and this has me wondering, will we be paying gays less than straight soldiers?

Don't Ask Don't Tell.
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 18, 2010 -> 10:33 PM) I really don't understand how anybody could be against repealing DADT to be honest. Glad it's gone, and glad Mark Kirk was on the right side of this debate. DADT was a major step forward at the time and was a necessary step forward in making openly gay servicemen and women possible.

Current Compromise on Tax Cuts
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 18, 2010 -> 11:43 AM) Would have been a more effective use than a lot of the bailout dollars the fed sent out. exactly. at the minimum sending $10,000 to every American could really spark the economy

Current Compromise on Tax Cuts
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 15, 2010 -> 01:22 PM) Tex, the short and medium term interest rates right now are still at near record lows, and a huge chunk of the money spent on interest right now is being paid to the federal reserve which owns the bonds, and thus just puts money right back into the government. So then defense, social programs, or infrastructure offer a worse place to spend tax dollars? What if we didn't have interest to pay? What would we do then?

OBAMA/TRUMPCARE MEGATHREAD
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 15, 2010 -> 12:42 PM) This just proves yet again that liberals will argue ANYTHING, including the opposite of their beliefs, when someone doesn't agree with their viewpoint. huh? So a conservative will not argue with someone who doesn't agree with their viewpoint?

Current Compromise on Tax Cuts
