Internet service providers
The poll finally loaded. Actually I was the first in my neighborhood for Roadrunner at 5Mps about 10 years ago. Sadly, at my new place, I will be tied to DSL at 3Mps until they upgrade service in about 6 months. Then they are promising 25Mps. Brand f***ing new construction but we are tied to the 5 year old development behind us.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!
Hoping to relax a little and looking at last night's schedule, it was easy to decide which game would be more relaxing between the Hawks in a clinching game or the Sox v. Minny. I chose the Hawks

Financial News
SS. Serious question, I don't have a dog in this fight, after you "blow up the current system" how would you recreate it? Second question, what flexibility would you add to allow for new technology? This seems like the one area with all the money involved, that the private sector will always outspend the regulators in trying to make a buck.

Sox sign Alan Embree
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 11, 2010 -> 02:43 PM) Mauer and Morneau have no hits vs this guy, however the whole league does. not certain why, but I laughed

Arizona requires you to carry your papers
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 11, 2010 -> 02:08 PM) Then they totally belong in the second tier of people who should be here. Silly me, I would like to be around people who want to be here. I thought that was crazy until I saw people who wanted to see the Sox lose in May. Maybe the US gets a higher draft pick next year or something? I'm not saying they do not want to be here, in fact I am certain most students want to be here. I think most business guys getting some overseas experience want to be here. I'm not certain why you would want someone like DBAHO in some second tier or, as others have said (not you) for him to reject all things Aussie.

Arizona requires you to carry your papers
Few thoughts. Not everyone here is planning on staying forever. There are students, people on a temporary work assigment, etc. Actually way more than you think. I don't expect them to suddenly embrace all things American. People have different ways to show their love of country. I never agreed with the America, love it or leave it point of view. We have the right to criticize the government. I guess some of y'all would be unhappy to hear my students signing the Star Spangeld Banner in French, Spanish, and English?

Arizona requires you to carry your papers
It is interesting that drug cartels taking over houses hasn't been reported or talked about here. The violence across the river has been talked about, but we've been more worried about it crossing over. And we do have to worry about mexico and their situation. We have lived with the luxery of a peaceful neighbor. It has saved us untold trillions of dollars. Imagine if a socialist or communist government took control. Not as far fetched as it sounds.

Welcome to being a Sox fan . . .
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 11, 2010 -> 07:24 AM) The teams from the eras you mention weren't top 5 in payroll but I hear you. Payroll wasn't that strong of a factor in the 70s and Veck's "Rent a Player" was suppose to make the difference.

Welcome to being a Sox fan . . .
For most of my 40 or so years as a Sox fan, this is what we got. Teams that looked "competitive" but were quickly exposed as wannabes. You gotta love baseball for baseball's sake to keep your sanity. I understand y'all have the right to be angst filled, hair pulling out, raving lunatics. But hitting the playoffs once every ten years was about the norm in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. So IMNSHO, try to relax, allow the season to unfold, get to as many games as you can, enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of a MLB game. Most everyone here are very intelligent fans who can find the good stuff that casual fans overlook.

QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ May 10, 2010 -> 08:57 AM) Now, some joker you met in the craigslist casual encounters is the beneficiary of all your hard work. Hope you remembered to remove the guns and other "toys" before you gave him the goods. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...p;#entry2146645 fixed The hidden compartments shown were factory built. I modified one of them to make it slightly more difficult to get into. I did not show him one of the compartments, we'll see if he ever finds it. I'm guessing he's going to be reselling the set. His wife wasn't really interested in looking at it.

Report: Obama to nominate Kagan to Supreme Court
As I said with Bush. The President should be allowed, should be expected even, to nominate someone from within their political spectrum. The confirmation should come down to matters of character.

Gordon Beckham: What To Do?
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 9, 2010 -> 07:56 PM) Bat him 7th or 8th. In 129 AB's in the 7th-8th hole, he has hit .326 and .394 respectively. In the 2 hole, he's only hitting .233 Let him figure it out lower in the order. Bingo. Actually an accurate order would be 1-3-4-8-8-8-8-9-9

Gordon Beckham: What To Do?
Major league players need to learn how to work out of slumps at the major league level. He can't spend his career expecting a few weeks in AAA to correct his problems. But I would not argue too much if they did send him down.

Blue Jays @ White Sox - 1:05 CSN

I am selling it. Here is one of the compartments QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 23, 2010 -> 05:28 PM) I'd be interested to hear more about those secret compartments. I am not a huge gun advocate, but if some s*** goes down in this area some day, I want the ability to defend myself.- Craig's List
Of all the cool things that can be done using the internet, selling a bedroom set in a couple hours is near the top of the list. Now let's hope he doesn't kill me.- HAWKS WIN! HAWKS WIN THE STANLEY CUP!!

I agree. Would you agree with the idea that a healthy Mexico is best for our security? QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 8, 2010 -> 09:29 AM) I've said before if we are going to do a program like this, it is essentially based on need. If people didn't feel that they needed a better life, they wouldn't come here in the first place. Personally I don't feel that just because Mexico is the closest to the US, that they should be the most favored nation. I would rather see us taylor our program towards saving people in REAL need. I'm not talking about just poverty, I am talking about people in war torn areas, people living through famines, people suffering genocide, people who are political targets. With all of the really desperate situations in the world, we can do better than being Mexico's welfare program. - Home Security
