QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 10:04 PM) When Guillen goes, Walker goes. And Walker will be back working quicker than Ozzie.

QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 09:08 AM) you know we didn't shoot down the plane right? I know. It came out of why scramble fighter jets. -
QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 11:21 AM) This process is going to be hell. This will be the worse confirmation process of all time. I will not post or read any buster thread about the candidates or process. People will be banned.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 01:21 PM) I hope that some of the guys who are helping us to a .158 team batting average pick it up, so that Ozzie has the opportunity to tinker, rather than just having to bench guys for hitting .100. Amen.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 12:11 PM) And as soon as you bunt with Beckham to get Pierre to 2nd...the right move becomes to give Q nothing to hit and to try to walk him, because Konerko is an easy GIDP with his wheels, if you can keep the ball down. At which point I wouldn't mind seeing Kotsay off the bench to pinch hit for Konerko, which of course will never happen, even when it is possible,

I really hope Ozzie will tinker a bit through April and May.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 12:46 PM) Depending on the size of your school, I'd go talk to him/her in person. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 12:53 PM) Definitely go talk to the professor in person though, that is a key. Sooner rather than later. The sooner you contact him and explain, the better your chances. If he says no, ask if there is another way to make up the missing points such as a paper.

Does this ever happen to you? (rap fans)
Texsox replied to ChiliIrishHammock24's topic in Pale Hose Talk
yeah, and if Obama would rap a Sox inspired song while wearing a Sox jacket and cap, the conservatives would really love him -
Who will be the last Sox starter to get a hit?

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 12:01 AM) Getz costs considerably less money. I am usually not concerned about salaries, but with with my summer vacation coming up, I could use some of that money. -
QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 09:06 PM) lol this is awesome. this guy was averaging about 1 post a year and he comes on just to say "He Blows". well said. That's what Kotsay brings to Sox fans.

QUOTE (G&T @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 09:05 PM) No. Guy attempts to fly plane into buildings containing thousands of people, we respond by shooting down the plane. No. Guy wants to kill people and get on TV for his cause. We respond by shooting down the plane, killing people and getting him on TV for his cause. He won't even need the bomb, only the threat of one. We'll provide the bomb at the end of a missle. No assembly required. s***ty, no win situation. I am glad I will never be in the position to make that call. -
How this is played is the person above gives the situation, you provide a five song playlist and add a question. Example. Late at night, open road, you are driving your favorite vehicle . . . Tangled up in Blue, Dylan Find Me, J. Michael Laferty Midnight Rider, Allman Brothers Life in the Fast Lane, Eagles Melissa, Allman Brothers Hoping in the car at the Cell after a Sox walk off victory . . .

perhaps a weird one, and not technically a cereal, but graham crackers in milk.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 01:37 PM) I'm pretty sure that's standard procedure now as a precautionary measure. If there was ever an event again when American planes were commandeered by terrorists or whoever I'm pretty sure those planes would be shot down before ever having a chance to crash somewhere of their choosing. Which shows the insanity of the situation. A guy threatens to blow up a plane with a bomb, we respond by shooting down the plane? -
QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 06:44 AM) My AP English teacher had us write Macbeth scenes the way we talked (as inner city high school sttudents in the 90s) I've also had many documents translated for meaning into Spanish by my students.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 09:22 AM) I don't blame him for that. At the time some felt it was because he wanted to "hide".
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 09:17 AM) Would you trust them to Scott Boras instead? No. But given the resources to do so, I would travel the globe for who I felt offered the best chance of sucess.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 08:05 AM) HD TV has made Sunday at Augusta that much better, no matter who is playing. Here's hoping that Illini Steve Stricker keeps up his hot streak and earns himself a green jacket.

He made decisions that he felt were in his best interest. I know I wouldn't trust my medical decisions to my employer. he showed no more or less loyalty to the team than the team has shown to players.
-
When I think of him, I think we invested some of that money in starting pitching. Eventually I think he's going to be a helpful cog, he ain't a wheel.
-
awesome. I smell a class assignment . . . I've already had my eighth graders rewrite the Gettysburg Address as text messages.

Sitting around with some friends we wondered how many teams at the start of the tourny, if given a choice of playing the games or having a ball in the air for the win, would have taken ball in the air. Certainly all of the lower seeded teams. Someone suggested they all would have, only one #1 reached the Final Four. I believe that Duke, Kansas, and at least a few others liked their chances enough to play the games.
