  1. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 20, 2009 -> 07:52 AM) Tex, I've spent a whole lot of time in southwest and south-central NM. I can give you all sorts of ideas. Check your PM's. Thanks for the help. She liked a couple of the places. Now we're contemplating the drive(s).

  3. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Nov 20, 2009 -> 11:09 PM) who is elvis? His tour comes to the US this May. His new CD, Secret, Profane, and Sugarcane is decent and if you have not heard his recent stuff, you will be surprised. http://www.elviscostello.com/ He almost made my list.
  4. Deliverance is a wonderful movie about camping
  5. Every time I read the thread title I think of you know who . . .
  6. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 20, 2009 -> 11:47 AM) Nimrods. . . Sorry, I couldn't help myself
  7. QUOTE (Tex @ Aug 12, 2009 -> 08:29 AM) The idea is simple, each sentence added to the discussion must begin with the next letter of the alphabet and be seven words or less. It must also "make sense" or at least as much sense as other threads here. Almost every game we start is fun. Quite the prognosticator back then. Was that really three months ago

  9. QUOTE (Cali @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 07:23 PM) I dont get the Green Day hate. They were the first band I ever got in to. Yeah they stumbled a bit to try and find a way to top Dookie, but that led them to completely re-invent themselves 10 years later and release one of the best albums of the decade and one of the most important albums to me personally in American Idiot. They are also such an amazing live band, so f***ing tight musically. People fear change and experimentation from your favorite band is like a curse word, but I love it, and I will follow most bands no matter what the sound is. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 20, 2009 -> 04:32 AM) Yeah, I agree. Dookie was an absolutely amazing album, whether you like the band or not. And they did stumble a bit for a while, but I think they have legitimized themselves by reinventing themselves so successfully. Honestly, for a 3 man punk band, if they weren't pretty damn brilliant, would they still be relevant? I don't think so... This list is something unpredictable, but in the end it is right. For what it's worth, it was worth all the time.
  10. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 11:35 PM) The security almost did, because I was crying (I mean, seriously, snatching balls from little kids?) and they came to see if the foul ball hurt me. Two hands youngin'; make the catch I remember there was a fair amount of threads here where we predicted he will make an excellent coach/manager. Best of luck to Sandy.
  11. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 17, 2009 -> 10:12 PM) Anybody who owns an iPhone and is even remotely inerested in dipping his toes into the Tiki cocktail world, the deal of the century is yours for the taking. Over the last decade, the Insane, God-Like Tiki Revivalist Jeff "Beachbum" Berry has published the three most important books of "lost" recipes ever. Two of these (Grog Log and Intoxica) were spiral bound home-published volumes (due to be updated, expanded and re-released next month!) that are long out of print, and the third one (Sipin' Safari) was released a couple of years back. None of them were particularly expensive, but you are stil talking about $40 total cost plus the difficulty of searching out the early books. Now, however, you can download a new iPhone ap called Tiki+ That gives you all of the drinks published in all three books, plus some from a fourth food and drink book Jeff did, in an interactive and intuitive format right on your phone. 150 great cocktails at your fingertips!! And the best part of all? Right now the app is only $3.99! Download this app and pick out a drink or two to mix up and you'll be hooked. Trust me. I am finally starting to put together a tiki bar. Sipin Safari is a great read. BTW jim, I picked up The Complete Joy of Homebrewing. Very interesting. I may have to order a second copy for the birthday gift, this one may show some signs of wear lol
  12. I am looking to spend a week somewhere up near the New Mexico / Texas border. Looking for a lodge, B & B, etc. Anyone spend any time in that neck of the woods? Nearby hiking trails, decent to very good restaurants at a minimum, etc
  13. Parents are so important, but sadly, many just do not care . . .
  14. getting to know the Constitution better and better each day. Care to discuss the first 10 Amendments aka The Bill of Rights?
  15. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 05:00 PM) I don't think Dylan is gonna be that high. There's not much more of a Dylan fan than me and I had him at 4. I think I left Dylan off my list. I was in a very pop sort of mind when I did my list. Without looking, I did a second list today and and 8 bands changed. lol
  16. my oh my how sophisticated we have gotten.
  17. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 17, 2009 -> 05:43 PM) Heartbreakers. . . Totally solid entry, curiously absent from my list. ditto.
  18. I bet, if I made another list only ten or so would over lap.
  19. I wonder if Steam will be 1, 2, or fall all the way to #3
  20. Oh my, what a strange spot tor reenter this thread
  21. My Fleetwood Mac vote was probably split 65-35 towards the pre Rumours line up. Looking back over my list, it is weighed heavily towards what oldies I've reconnected with at this stage in my life. For obvious reasons, Rumours fits nicely.
  22. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 15, 2009 -> 03:06 PM) Yes. But, even with that. I feel like we look at these lowlifes like they have superpowers, or something. I really doubt, if a play is made to release them, that just because the jail is off U.S. shores, this means the U.S. would not be hit in that "play." How many countries have needed an offshore jail for their most heineous criminals? QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 15, 2009 -> 03:12 PM) The country of San Francisco. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 15, 2009 -> 03:20 PM) Well done. well done indeed I love those posts.
