  1. Very nice. IMHO someone over the age of 25 or so looks stupid most of the time wearing one, but it does look pretty cool.
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 16, 2008 -> 07:09 AM) Manny Ramirez is a douche bag. He loafed this season with the Red Sox who have only paid him about $120 million. It was so bad, his TEAMMATES told management he needs to go. He gets "motivated" playing for a new contract, and suddenly he's a better player than ARod? Please. Barry Bonds was awful in the post season until later in his career. Frank Thomas has had 2 post season series where he failed to get a hit. It happens. ARod is a superior player. Manny could have been right up there with him, but he was the one who chose not to. He is pretty awesome when he wants to be, but that isn't everyday. He even took a couple of Septembers off with the Red Sox with mystery injuries. God help whichever team opens the bank for him this winter. ^^^^ With A-Rod I know he's going to give me max effort every night. With Manny, once he has the cash guaranteed, I'm not certain who is going to show up. Advantage A-Rod.
  3. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Oct 17, 2008 -> 09:56 AM) No No No No No No No It is the CURE, NOT the CAUSE. Who wrote this article, Steven Glass? This is scary, two references so far, I'm wondering if no one else is catching it.
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 17, 2008 -> 06:16 AM) I am giving all the credit in the world to Savard here. His interviews on the subject have been nothing but respectful and classy. I gove him a lot of respect for that. Obviously my local news is much more focused on High School football, so I'm not seeign any of the reports.
  5. QUOTE (mreye @ Oct 17, 2008 -> 09:34 AM) Judging by all the "How do I talk to a girl?" and "Should I ask a girl to go on a date?" threads, no one here needs to worry about this.
  6. Somewhere there is a very lucky guy thinking, wait! I better not do that, I could give myself cancer.

  8. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 15, 2008 -> 04:32 PM) Forget heat - If you have location and accuracy, that batter is dead to rights. Forget heat - If you have location, accuracy, and a frisbee-like release, that batter is dead to rights at least once, maybe twice.
  9. QUOTE (Mr. Showtime @ Oct 16, 2008 -> 07:46 PM) I'm sure after the smoke clears on all of this that Denis will be brought back to do PR stuff like Bobby and Stan do for the team. Unless there was some real bad behind the scenes incidents, Denis loves the Hawks to much to not be around. When you get fired like this, your love of the organization probably goes away for a while.

  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 16, 2008 -> 10:28 AM) What a stupid move. Why the hell would you fire a coach four games into a season that way overachieved last year? If he was on thin ice, he should have been fired in the offseason so that a coach could have time to teach his systems to the players over the course of a training camp. Now they have to learn a whole new system 4 games in? Dumb. I have to agree with this. Didn't mamma Sutter have another son we haven't hired yet and made coach?

I played on a traveling baseball team and five of the players were all named Jim. Jim Adkins got to keep his name. Fitting because he was our Captain and best player Jimmy Lubtack became LBJ as in led bottom Jim Jim Valentine became Valentine Jim Durkin became mouse because his dad was an exterminator and had a giant mouse on his car. And with one mighty swing and a miss during a practice, I became
  13. Linked I get chills thinking about all of the very greatest performers who have graced the Met's stage through the years. Those performances are dating back to 1937 and now will be streamed to your computer. I can't image Joan Sutherland could have imagined it when she was in her prime performing.
  14. We tell politicians that it is ok to be less than trustworthy and honest in some areas, but not others. We deserve what we get when the lines blur and they are dishonest.
  15. Sad when being a role model isn't even factored in as President of the United States.
  16. While attention will be given to picking up the cutter, IMHO what is more important is something the organization cannot teach, a gunslinger attitude and a ton of nerve. That, is the biggest difference in Javy and Danks. Not the quality and type of pitches, but the ability to throw them under pressure. And iut cannot be taught. You may get better with exposure, but 90% you either have or you don't.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 15, 2008 -> 08:31 AM) Yep, she picked me up and then she did fireman's carry. Good thing you weren't wearing that Sox cap or you may still be laying there. Nice Rays cap you started wearing btw.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 15, 2008 -> 10:34 AM) lol. The funny thing is I didn't even notice the site name. I got there through a couple of other clicks of stories that were interesting. I guess I am just well read. It is normal to experiment, and if you are intrigued by liberals, you may wish to vote Democratic once
  19. I've only watched part of one Alabama game, but I'm a little surprised that Texas went all the way to #1. Probably the kiss of death this season for the Longhorns.
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 14, 2008 -> 08:21 PM) But she's a MILF, dude! Yeah man! I'd like to propose a new category MDILF

  22. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Oct 14, 2008 -> 09:08 PM) Yeah, thanks. I kinda knew that. What I didn't know is why you claimed this particular piece of info made a "huge difference" between the two offices in any respect, which is what I tried to ask. Personally, I could care less if any candidate cheated; not because I think "character" or even "morality" is unimportant, but because I don't know the specifics of their relationships and try to base my votes on their positions on other issues. I think this is a total non-issue; you seemed to term it "huge" (at least in relation to the president) and mentioned avoiding another Clinton, as if a candidate's past indiscretions meant we'd be in for more blue dresses, special prosecutors, and impeachments. I wasn't sure what you meant and was trying to understand. Still am. I believe Clinton was rendered almost useless during the Lewinski hearings and the final couple years of his Presidency. Any action he would take was judged based on "tail wagging the dog". I would prefer to not repeat the spectacle of a President explaining blow jobs in the Oval Office to Congress and the American people. Also, when the President takes the oath of office, I would like to think he actually understands what an oath is. Perhaps you are comfortable with him doing it with "his fingers crossed behind his back", but I am not. Your positions change easier than your character. What I termed huge was the difference between the Presidency and the Vice Presidency, not the acts in question.

  25. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Oct 14, 2008 -> 01:07 PM) What might that be? Last I looked we are voting for President, the VP just kind of tags along. I wish we could vote for tat office separately.
