  1. Hardcore Cub fans stick there nose into the ass in front of them and go to games year after year, no matter what, for the experience. Hardcore Sox fans stay home. Then you have the battle for the casual fan that goes to maybe a game or two each year. They can't name more than a couple players. Some years they may skip a game and go to a museum or some s%*#. Many of those fans will go to a suburban stadium no matter which team is the home team. The hardcore fans for either team? They will b**** if the other team moves into their neighborhood and never visit except for a crosstown game.
  2. I think if a team fell in their laps suburban dwellers would jump on the bandwagon. But it can't be a team that loses 120 games. That s%*# doesn't sell anywhere.
  3. Thomas Wolfe said it best "you can't go home again"
  4. While that argument makes sense for an out of town fan who has never lived in the city, it's odd to hear this from a Brother Rice grad who should understand the roots of the team. Unless, you're trying to spark conversation.
  5. I believe you mean you*couldn't* care less. As you wrote it, you care, perhaps a lot, about SS2k5 (as we all do). Is this really about where someone walks on their lunch break?
  6. Agreed. There is so much past data than can be analyzed and simulations run that it takes multiple people. They also need to be familiar with each other and their individual talents. I'll assume (without any information) that our people aren't as good at that as most other teams because I'm a Sox fan.
  7. And one in San Antonio. With pizza the local places can't get the sausage seasoning the same. I assume with beef or will be the same issues.
  8. It's the Sox penalty. Why come here when you have other offers at the same price? Start at the top. How many hundreds of millions more would they have had to pay Ohtani? Then it travels all the way down to the barely deserve minimum to sign guys.
  9. I don't want to have any positive thoughts about this season. Anything positive will be crushed by the first warm days of spring.
  10. Other code possibilities Code: Anderson Two sets of tickets on opposite sides of the stadium. Code: Tony Reclining seat for between inning naps and a free seat for your designated driver* *Driver not included
  11. I love the AI summary of what's wrong with Joey Gallo. It sums up the entire Sox system. Gallo's offensive production has been poor, even by his own low standards.
  12. Meanwhile India cricket in Big controversy down under. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/cricket/article-14241625/amp/Indian-cricket-star-raises-eyebrows-mysterious-decision-rumours-unrest-tourists-dressing-room-swirl.html
  13. Better than the owners getting all the profits. That should be the league minimum

Listed first. Eat it MIA and COL. Winner
  15. Haruki I'm guessing. I'm usually not a fantasy, sci fi reader. What do you suggest?
  16. All of these experts are wrong again. They were wrong when they had us winning the central a couple seasons ago and they are wrong now. These prospects will not pan out. And even if they do sniff a MLB roster they will riddled with injuries and have such flawed approaches they won't win much. It's what we do and we're the best at it in all of sports. Until the organization starts over with a new owner and all new employees that s%*# just permeates everything.
  17. I was listening to some vintage Aerosmith. If they are correct, "you have to lose to know how to win" we can Dream On for this season. And I'm not even drinking yet
  18. It wasn't like the Sox were the only ones fooled. He received a number of favorable reviews. Momma's didn't conceive MLB talented kid that year.
  19. TA signing a minor league deal. What a fall.
  20. So this is the ground we're building up from? Perhaps we're building from a huge fing hole.
