  2. The irony is so many players wind up in the suburbs
  3. Interesting thought since they aren't playing in either one of the cities, yet. I'm not certain how much time you've spent in Boston, not while I agree Chicago is great, I've always enjoyed my time in Boston. But I've always enjoyed saltwater harbors.
  4. So upon hearing the news I suspect Crochet was thinking fucking A yes! What were the guys thinking coming to the White Sox organization? Lucky break, earlier route to private planes and better hotels or that's the end of my career.
  5. You could say Getz went elbow to ankle with this trade. I'd rather worry about a surgically repaired ankle on a position player than a pitcher's arm. I guess lots of physicals to be completed before it's really official. We'll never know but this seems better than that might have been expected at the trade deadline.
  6. Say your goodbyes. The one really bright spot in a historically horrific season.
  7. I'm trying to find anything about their leadership qualities and all I find are baseball stats.
  8. I agree. I was wondering at what price would he have switched from a WS contender to the Sox? Double the contract doesn't seem unreasonable in his situation.
  9. We need to sign more guys that are honest and will admit they aren't trying.
  10. With an option to not rush their development because you have no other options. I see these types of signing as guys volunteering to go as tribute.
  11. What cap and will he be smoking a cigarette?
  12. The SEC schools didn't help each other at all this year.
  13. Not in San Antonio. I have to search a bit.
  14. I'm thinking Getz signed him to impress some random woman at the bar.
  15. The first and last time we will think of L.J. Jones. I hope he stays healthy and keeps living the dream.
  16. It seems since Eddie passed on everyone else is a passive investor.
  17. Still, for accuracy we shouldn't call JR THE owner.
  18. My reply was to the comment that JR was personally cashing in. That may be true, but if true, it's odd the other owners would allow that.
  19. The comment was he kept all the money for himself. Why would the other owners not get paid as well? Was the partnership agreement made public?
  20. Why do all the other Sox owners allow that?
  21. It can support a team. Even if you don't split the population in half, and give the Cubs the edge, you would be looking at close to a million population. But that's not all the factors. San Antonio for example has a much higher population than 2/3rds of MLB teams. Experts point to the lack of corporate headquarters and major business interests. The Sox and Cubs are competing for advertising sales and major underwriters. If a company is looking to partner with MLB baseball they have options in a couple cities.
