The euphoria from earlier this season has worn off, now I'm starting to get worried.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 05:38 PM) What is the current situation here in the 9th? Tie Game, how many outs and whose on for the O's? Bobby with the blown save. Plenty of blame to go around. Left a ton on base a couple times. Ugly execution. Great pitching by our starter Javy

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 05:34 PM) I thought Javy was well above the 100 pitch mark. I'm actually surprised we didn't let him try to finish. It seems like the Ozzie thing to do. But actually having it turn out to be the wrong decision seems to be the Ozzie thing lately.

QUOTE (DonnyDevito @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 05:19 PM) you should have took his lap top away. he's got that wireless connection. Southsider has a telepathic connection, he thinks it and it posts. That's how he topped 50,000 posts in his spare time.

Indiana voter ID laws upheld
QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 03:08 PM) See, that is just it. Why is it considered PUNISHMENT to have to get an ID? Because it is an extra step. Something more they have to do. Maybe punishment is too harsh a term, inconvenienced? Anytime we enact requirements like this, basically we ask innocent people to prove they are not criminals. Pet peeve of mine. Stores that check my bags as I am leaving, pay first anything, etc.

Indiana voter ID laws upheld
QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 02:06 PM) no way... see with voting, they can round them all up and make a 1/2 hour trip to the polling place. with ID issuance, can that happen with everyone within a 1 hour period??? The pure logistics of this makes it impossible. (the reason I say 1 hour, is due to the "personal" issues that many patients deal with on an on-going basis) The nursing home/retirement home vans are running all over the place. They drop patients off here and there at Doctor's appointments, shopping, etc. Since this is a huge retirement area, I see quite a bit about it. I think the more valid point is, many are going to say why bother? We are punishing those people which may or may not be a fair price to pay. Let's remember the names are already on the voting rolls. So you have to provide a picture ID that patches a name already on the rolls. I guess the fraud this could stop is one person visiting dozens of polling places with names of recently deceased individuals.

Man Holds his daughter prisoner for 24 years
QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 02:14 PM) yeah lets put it like this.....Papa Bear and Mama Bear had a daughter, named Kiddy Bear. Kiddy Bear and Papa Bear had 7 children, three of which lived with Mama Bear and Papa Bear, and three of which lived in hell with Kiddy Bear Yep. I would like to point out the media bias in these stories. Not once have I read about a woman that keeps a guy chained up in some dungeon and forces him to have sex with her. But a guy does it and it is front page news.

Man Holds his daughter prisoner for 24 years
QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 02:01 PM) Was the the fathers wife the mother of the imprisoned daughter? The way I have been reading the story seems like she isnt. It is a little confusing. As I read it one of the children was ill and brought to the hospital. That child, was the product of the father-daughter. The daughter was the child of the father and wife. When he brought her to the hospital he claimed, accurately, he was the grandfather. Test revealed he was also the father. That child's mother was his daughter. Any clearer?
