QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 01:18 AM) The Twins have our number. Yes, in their home park.....where they have everyone's number. They have no one's number on the road.

QUOTE (hi8is @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 01:13 AM) We do not deserve to be in the playoffs and the twins are a better team. This is true.....if the Twins win more games than us during the rest of the regular season. If not, they are not. The Twins certainly are a better team than us in their home stadium. We are certainly a better team than them in our home stadium. The 2 teams have the same number of losses. If the Twins were a notably better team, they would not have the same number of losses as us. They would have held the lead before tonight. They are a bad team away from home. You might try to describe them as a better team right now than the Sox are. How do you define right now? Tonight? This home series for them? September? They are 10-12 in September. How are the Twins going to do if they are in a playoff series? They do not have home field advantage. Signs point to 'they would get smoked.'

That's the best thing I've ever seen in my life. AJ gets hit. Juan lasers it off the pitcher. If that doesn't get these guys pumped up, nothing will. Uribe!!!

I hope they are playing this nonstop in the clubhouse.

Hilarious.

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 08:08 PM) wow, was watching that game in PIP during the UFC. Damn, that sucked. Hats off to Richard. That was one of the worst offensive efforts I can remember. Ozzie HAS to stop giving outs up and PK has to be hitting 3rd, Dye has been brutual lately. Hopefully Cleveland will help out and knock the magic number down one tonight. Dye on an 8 game hitting streak going into tonight, was hitting around .340 his last 14 games. -
yes 12. It is 11 to at least force a 1 game playoff (which would be in Chicago), but 12 to clinch.

QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 14, 2008 -> 09:08 PM) f*** YOU OZZIE HIT BA HERE NOT PIECE OF s*** WISE SCREW YOU AND YOUR GOD DAMN MATCHUPS. Pal, you've just been getting it all kinds of wrong.

QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 14, 2008 -> 03:51 PM) The White Sox continue to let a good player in Brian Anderson slip away. As a matter of fact, Ozzie, he can bat against right handers too. Wise has been a better hitter this year than Anderson, and glaringly so against righties. Wise hits .299 against righties. Anderson .237.

Also, what is Thome up to here? http://homerderby.com/wp-content/uploads/2...crotch-grab.jpg

I was at that Sox game. They gave out silver Sox hats to the first however many fans. Silver! I can't believe I lost that thing, it ruled. The Sox got destroyed by the Indians in the game. Those future uniforms are not bad.

Hasn't been raining on the north side for over an hour. Is it raining on the south side?

QUOTE (daa84 @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 08:34 PM) thank god at least for that griffey trade...this is where our lack of organizational depth just destroys us Show me a team with a 6th or 7th outfielder who has played better than Wise.

If Minnesota loses 5 out of 6 games, nobody gives it a second thought. If we lose 3 games most all Sox fans absurdly and overly emotionally react and are "certain" that the season is over. If Konerko gets injured they are sure we are cursed. They would love to have a goat curse to blame things on. If shown proof that the Sox suffered less than the average amount of injuries for a baseball team, they would choose to not believe it.

Twins lose. Magic number is at 18.

Ozzie likes to give players a start right after calling them up if possible. If it was a lefty pitching, BA would be starting tonight.

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Aug 31, 2008 -> 03:19 PM) I just got back to a computer since Firday and I wan to reiterate my thoughts that the line-up shifting daily is hurting the offense. So you've managed to determine that it is the shifting of the line-up that is CAUSING the offense to do poorly. It has nothing to do with good pitching, unluck, slumping or randomness. And it wasn't hurting the team when they scored 71 runs in 9 games (almost 8 a game) until these three losses in a row. And though the team has gone 17-11 since acquiring Griffey which has caused the line-up to change more frequently (5.5 runs/game .275 BA and .841 OPS over that stretch), it is the shifting of the line-up that is causing the offense to do poorly.

Who do you think we be September callin' up?
-
Poreda's name comes up when talking 5th starter.
Vance Law replied to justBLAZE's topic in Pale Hose Talk
"Aaron Poreda's name has been thrown out in the media" Nice! Who threw it out there? The media? The media, with its need to invent stories to fill up newspaper columns when there are no stories, has thrown out Aaron Poreda's name, and now is "reporting" on it in the medai? Dynamite. Is there any more sure fire way to get a "story" in the media, than for the media to pretend it is a story, ask actual people about it, and then "report" the answers as if it were a story. -
If I calculated correctly, Quentin's OPS this series is 2.096. He's gotten on in 11 of 13 plate appearances. yowza
-
Uribe would be nice to have as a 4th middle infielder defensive sub if he's real cheap. Like $2 million. I bet someone will give him more than thatm though.
-
Rally Swisher.
-
Contreras off the DL. Maybe a reliever for a few days till then. Russell? Poreda won't be up before a September callup, if that.

Also, isn't Thome's a Vesting Option?
