Teahan rehab could be great for the sox
QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 12, 2010 -> 02:09 PM) Teahen's been gone long enough that people forgot how bad he was defensively. He's not the answer to anything but very limited duty. Most are hoping he just replaces Kotsay as part time DH. We shall see what Ozzie actually does.

Thrill Rides!!! Theme Parks and Carnivals!
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 6, 2010 -> 02:46 PM) I was so hoping to get a rollback, but didn't see any while I was there. Sigh. It happened to the train before me, kinda intimidating.

Official 2010-2011 NCAA Football Thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 6, 2010 -> 01:51 PM) If everything goes well then perhaps you attempt an open-air Midwestern stadium (Soldier, Cleveland, Cinci) or if you get desperate, the Metrodome, after the first year or two. I would love to have it in Chicago, but like I said, Im biased. Indy is a decent city, but it also doesnt have the same appeal as Chicago. And I could be wrong, but I feel that Chicago would be much easier for teams to travel to, considering distance and availability of transportation.

Financial News
Bought my first stock today, so Im pretty anxious to see how it turns out and hoping I didnt f*** up my bank account I went with some high paying dividends who are showing a bit of risk but have potential, and since Im in it for the long haul I feel I can take that risk now.

Thrill Rides!!! Theme Parks and Carnivals!
There was one at Cedar Point that was duplicated at Great America and was wowing people at Great America but was forgotten at Cedar Point because when in comparison to all the other coasters it was just decent.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER
QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 5, 2010 -> 06:14 PM) Love the posts on here praising Kotsay. Shows soxtalk is not full of a bunch of ingrates. Konerko witih two more hits as well as Pierre. Just three guys with multi hit games. Kotsay's four RBIs really stand out. We win. I dont think anyone on here wants any player to actually fail while they are on the Sox, they may feel that a change is best for the team but if a player is batting for the Sox I bet you everyone is rooting for them to do something well. The sum is greater than the parts.

Dreaming of working for the white sox

Films Thread
QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 11:05 AM) Agreed. I watch it whenever I am flipping and see it on cable. One of my alltime faves, then again I have a friend who has alot of similar qualities to Samberg like his extreme facial expressions. That movie will quickly become one of the most quotable movies you ahve ever seen.

Waiver Wire Thread
I just dont see the Sox committing $7mill to him for the rest of the year. If they get him it will be because he cleared waivers and the Dodgers threw in a bunch of cash. There was a reason why the Sox didnt offer anything for him earlier, because they dont feel like he was worth that money or talent in return for the 6 weeks he gives you.

The Wave Sucks
It's not that I dont want other fans to have fun, but your main goal of going to a baseball game is to enjoy watching baseball. If you start doing stunts that block my view of the game in high stress scenarios I have all the right to be mad at those people. I know people are there to have fun, but thats why there are things like the Fundamentals area for little kids to go to. Talk, drink beer, eat food, watch the game in youre seat, but be courteous of those who are there to watch the game (and yes I watch every play I can). If you just want to hang with friends or have fun with your kids go someplace else. Instead of the wave, why dont you teach your kid the game so I dont have to hear about how Freddy sucks when hes been a great 5th starter for us.

How can an actual MLB manager continue to justify playing time for Mar
Eventually Hawk, Stone, and any other Sox announcer and Ozzie need to stop making excuses for Kotsay and how "hard" he as hit the ball and start saying they need production from him. I dont care if you hit a ball hard every atbat, if you dont produce through this much of the season it means you arent just going through a rough patch.

The Wave Sucks
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 05:58 PM) I might even do the wave at a Tigers game just to avoid watching that train wreck. Since they were losing by double digits I could understand the wave late in the game. I just dont get it though when the game is on the line or its early on in the game (what, youre already bored?).

Relationship Advice Thread
QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 2, 2010 -> 04:57 PM) Everyone who gets married thinks they are going to spend their life with someone though...the problem is, people are usually wrong... Exactly, so what if a person feels like this is eventually going to happen and doesnt want the mess of it, should they lose the rights that every marriage couple receives even though both are just as likely to "break up" at a future point?

Relationship Advice Thread
Should marriage really be a part of everyday factors such as the ability to cosign a loan, have joint custody, etc? I mean, if a person doesnt want to get married should they really have the disadvantage that the system creates? Not everybody will want the marriage label put on themselves even though they are in a committed relationship. Just kinda thinking out loud here.

Relationship Advice Thread
QUOTE (G&T @ Aug 2, 2010 -> 04:48 PM) That's because people get married too young. Marriage before age 25 is not smart. I dont have the data to back it up but past generations seemed to get married before 25 quite often and never had as many problems in divorce as are seeing now (atleast so it seems). Is it more of a generational gap?

Relationship Advice Thread
I do believe that if you are dating someone then you should be loyal to them and all that jazz, but if youre not a religious person what more does marriage do for you besides the tax benefits (I believe there are some, I could be wrong). I mean, why dont people just say that they are committed to each other, why make it such a big deal and so complicated with a marriage. I would much prefer to be in a committed relationship than a marriage because if it ever does fall apart (which many of them do) than you dont have the mess. A marriage is a front for a committed relationship most of the time anyways, its a way to show youre committed but really doesnt mean anything alot of the time.
