QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 16, 2010 -> 01:27 PM) ACH is by far the best funding option if you can get it done. Money moves very quickly between your bank account and your brokerage account that way. I'd try going to a branch, but take all of your info for both accounts so that you can be sure to be able to get it done easily. Yea, thats what Im thinking that Ill have to do. I really cant wait to get off campus and be able to switch to another bank. TCF just blows chunks, but its the only bank with branches on campus and at home for me. I think its terrible that I hate going to my bank's branches because the workers are incompetent and always are confused and take forever. Not to mention the fees they'll hit you with, the poor customer service over the phone, and the terrible website. All with a s***ty interest rate. /rant

Im trying to send funds to a new online brokerage account I just opened and my options are sending a check (which would take botu 5 days total for the money to get deposited into the account), wire transfer, and ACH. I really would like to wire transfer the money, but I have TCF and the website sucks and doesnt have anything on it for that, and doesnt even say whether its an option with personal banking. Should I just go to a branch? Im not sure if I can get to one before it closes and I would like to settle it today. I tried calling customer service (they have no email account for this question), and it takes about 10 minutes just to get to a person, and theyve never been very helpful and since Im at work I dont want to waste alot of time on it.

QUOTE (Cali @ Jul 15, 2010 -> 10:06 AM) "Everybody is laughing, and riding, and cornholing, except Buster..." I was thinking exactly that when I first hear cornholing in this thread.
  5. Is there someway members can see the warn level? Like in their profile page or something? Im not worried at all mainly because I havent been able to post much lately, but very curious as to how this whole thing works.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 13, 2010 -> 09:10 AM) So, I need to find a new show to get sucked into (drama preferably). Anyone have any suggestions? The guidelines: (1) my fiance and I moved recently and decided to do away with cable. So we're limited to Netflix and the interwebs. (2) to get a feel for my taste in shows, my recent favorites include: Breaking Bad, Lost, Mad Men, Deadwood, The Wire, Sopranos, etc. Anyone every watch Battlestar Galactica? Normally i'm not an outer space kind of guy, but lots of people associate it with Lost, so I'm willing to give it a shot. I tried to get into Dexter and Californication, but can't seem to stay interested. I'm hoping there's a cool series out there that I missed within the last few years. Sons of Anarchy!
  9. This past weekend I was talking to one of my two best friends for hours and Im pretty sure he is suffering from depression and told him that he should go see a doctor and get checked out. I later found out that both his parents had depression too which just really enforced my opinion. If true, my best friend, mom, dad's mom and dad, and ex girlfriend (of 2.5 years) have all had depression. Thats just f***ed up.

Ive always been R/R. But I had a coach who when he was in high school thought it would be cool to become a switch hitter, and so he did. And man was he good, he can still walk up to the plate and hit BP home runs from either side. It all depends on how coordinated someone is from either side. I could never bat left handed, even if I put in the work for it, I would never be all that great good enough for whiffle ball but nothing for a real game). If you are coordinated enough, its actually a great way to help with mechanics, as you now know how to swing with proper mechanics so you can teach that left hand part from the get go of how to swing right.
  14. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 02:32 PM) They are. He's saying it's not constitutional for a school to say "hey, any group whatsoever can be performed and recieve X benefits" and then specifically deny one group those same benefits because of a specific belief. And not only did they do that, but they also ignored the fact that other groups were doing the SAME thing and they only did that because of that one specific belief. That's not constitutional. That's actually a major tenant in freedom of speech/association jurisprudence. You can't, and you shouldn't. That's called the government (school) picking out specific beliefs and saying "that's not right." You're not allowed to do that IF you've set up a non-discriminatory policy which was the case here. Very well said, totally agree.
  15. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 02:08 PM) Disallowing discriminatory groups is not discrimination. They are being considered on individual merit of their views. The argument that anyone advocating for social justice or non-discrimination has to allow in racist, homophobic or other hate groups drives me insane. So because it doesnt fit your pattern of morals and beliefs it shouldnt be allowed?
  16. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 12:42 PM) His entire argument is just an attempt to twist a non-discrimination policy back around on itself. He's arguing that they're discriminating against people who discriminate. It's the legal version of the "why do you hate racists?! I thought liberals were supposed to be open-minded!" argument. That is a pretty stupid argument. I wouldn't have a problem if the University refused to grant official recognition to an atheist group that denied membership to religious people or required some silly "oath of faith." Plenty of minority groups on college campuses have a specific focus but let in anyone who wants to join. You can join the Korean Lawers group without being Korean. They didn't deny them because they hate gays, they denied them because they refused memberships to gays, jews, muslims, etc. etc. If we follow Alito's brilliant argument, what stops the school from being forced to recognize a local Stormfront, KKK or other racist organization? You can't discriminate against discrimination, man! eta: read Stevens' opinion "In the dissent’s view, by refusing to grant CLS an ex-emption from the Nondiscrimination Policy, Hastings violated CLS’s rights, for by proscribing unlawful dis-crimination on the basis of religion, the policy discrimi-nates unlawfully on the basis of religion. There are nu-merous reasons why this counterintuitive theory is unsound. Although the First Amendment may protect CLS’s discriminatory practices off campus, it does not require a public university to validate or support them." Discrimination: treatment or consideration of, or making a distinction in favor of or against, a person or thing based on the group, class, or category to which that person or thing belongs rather than on individual merit Sounds like not allowing a person or group to have a message that may be racist is considered discrimination. I personally see it as just as bad that a social justice advocate cant accept other people having differing opinions than them. That drives me insane.
  17. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 26, 2010 -> 08:16 PM) Putz at 97. Damn. If we fall apart again, knock on wood, we have some really solid trading pieces.
  18. That ball just floated out of here, I thought there was no way it was a homer.
