  1. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 5, 2016 -> 01:40 PM) I remember seeing Farrell in that role and being so confused that it wasn't comedic. Christoph Waltz, in my opinion, is one of the top actors out there. He's the only reason I went and saw Spectre...and his scenes were the only ones I really enjoyed other than the Mexico City opening. I actually was disappointed in Christoph's role in that movie, thought they limited him severely. But yea, he's my favorite actor from the last few years, he can be outstanding.
  2. QUOTE (Lillian @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 10:00 AM) That works for me. And doesn't work for either of them, so what was the point of that?
  3. Man if we get Cespedes on a 3 year deal all my reservations of getting him go out the window, that would be a hell of a deal by Hahn.
  4. QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 6, 2016 -> 02:30 PM) and you may have a point, i think i mention other viable options. not just them. I didn't see any others posted. Latos or Fister would be intriguing but they're in a higher class then EJax.
  5. QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 6, 2016 -> 02:23 PM) yes..... the sox are blowing it with all the good work they did to redo this team. there are plenty of good temp sp .... sp who are RHP that the sox could have picked up for depth sp's...... Not signing Beachy or Jackson is not blowing it.
  6. QUOTE (Sockin @ Jan 6, 2016 -> 01:17 PM) You don't trade for an All Star third baseman to be a stopgap. I agree with this and I agree that you can't trade for Frazier and do nothing else. I just hate going after a FA who just had a career year, to me you are setting yourself up for a large financial commitment that won't work out and stump us for years. I also understand get why we are going for Cespedes, I just don't see that deal working out for us.
  7. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jan 6, 2016 -> 01:01 PM) Don't trust Cespedes, but wants older, injury plagued, below average center fielder in Denard Span. Makes sense. I don't trust Cespedes to be anywhere near last season, and a 4/5 year commitment at his price will be a huge hit to our payroll. I dont think adding just one of Cespedes/Upton/Gordon is enough to truly compete anyways so signing up for that big of a commitment is extremely risky. You're gambling quite a bit there and I, personally, just don't like those odds. I'd rather play conservatively with solid but not stellar moves that wouldn't kill our future resources, try to take advantage of Sale/Abreu by bringing in depth around them.
  8. Man I just don't trust Cespedes to continue anything like last season, would much prefer the Span/RHSP combo to him.
  9. I loved Django, Christoph Waltz in it was just fantastic. My QT list would probably be: 1. Pulp Fiction 2. Django 3. Inglorious Bastards 4. Res Dogs 5. Kill Bill Vol 2 6. Kill Bil vol 1 Haven't seen: Hateful 8 Jackie Brown Death Proof My top 3 could change on just my mood, Res Dogs is definitely higher then Kill Bill which I enjoyed but never feel like rewatching.
  10. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 4, 2016 -> 11:31 AM) I mean I get that to a point, but it seems to me with everything she's done in the past, all the miraculous intelligence work she's done, she's earned the benefit of the doubt. And since we're talking about all of the same people that has been connected to her (Saul, Dar, the Berlin chick, etc) that it wouldn't be much of a stretch to at least believe what she says while also questioning it to some degree. Even the documents themselves. Why on earth would they really believe that Carrie was the source of that? Or that she was somehow protecting the hacker? Nothing in the prior 5 seasons have indicated any willingness on her part to really screw the CIA or the US. I mean, yeah, she boned a known terrorist, but that was more out of proving that he wasn't a truly awful person, not screwing over the agency or country. In all fairness I skipped season 3 (or most of it I should say). Dar has his own games going on, there hasn't been much trust between Carrie and him for awhile (especially after s4 with him and Haqqani). And it wasn't believing Carrie was the leaker but that she's involved in it, even if it's known that it was someone else at the foundation, she works for those guys so it's all the same to the CIA. A backstab from your company is a backstab from you. And yea, while Carrie has done phenomenal work for the CIA she is still known to have slept with a terrorist, had questionable decisions in Pakistan, known to be bipolar and hugely mentally unstable at times, and on top of all of that she's now on the outside working for a company that just leaked documents that f***ed up ongoing operations. Yea, going to be hard to trust her.
  11. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 4, 2016 -> 11:03 AM) The wife and I finished up Homeland over the holidays. I was really digging the season up through about 6 episodes. And then it sorta sucked from there. The entire Quinn storyline was dumb. And how many times are they going to play the "no one believes in crazy Carrie, especially Saul, but then she saves the day!" card? Also, why did everyone in Berlin speak in perfect American accents?? 1) Quinn's storyline was disappointing, agreed there. 2) They couldn't believe Carrie, she's on the outside of the company. Even if Saul believed her (which he did eventually after getting over their falling out) he still had to convince everyone on the inside that she was right. Which is believably hard since she's on the outside and linked to leaked documents.
  12. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jan 4, 2016 -> 07:51 AM) Technically a 2015 show, but it's on Amazon and can be binged watched at any time...has anyone else watched The Man in the High Castle? Fantastic show. I have one more episode to watch in season 1. Yea it was good, looking forward to more of it.
  13. There are a few posts in the new Democratic thread. Honestly, I have no idea what these guys are trying to accomplish, just looks like they want to be martyrs. Seems like a dumbass thing to do.
  14. QUOTE (farmteam @ Jan 3, 2016 -> 10:49 AM) I would think this would be a bigger story.... Yea I haven't heard anything on this until now...
  15. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 30, 2015 -> 04:45 PM) Still can't believe Groce didn't give Levert a f***ing phone call. In his defense: 1) Levert was still signed with Ohio, it would be breaking the rules until he was released. 2) I don't believe there were any open scholarships at the time. That said, what a freakin miss. Yea we have Hill but Levert is a monster.
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 02:20 PM) I better keep my comments on the guy I know cheating in the other thread lest this one turn into something else that could get me banned. I'll keep it in the other thread. I do think it's insane to act like everybody who likes Trump is an idiot. There are a lot of people out there who like Trump for various reasons. And not everybody is willing to just give Hillary eight years in the White House as some sort of lifetime achievement award. That's all.

QUOTE (Tony @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 09:31 PM) I don't know how old you are, but for anyone that is 20-35 right now, I have never seen a show capture "our" generation better, especially if you are living in the city. It's incredible. Some of the acting is brutal but the show is great, really well written and as you said, captures the generation perfectly.
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 02:13 AM) As far as your final paragraph: My Clinton example was brought up in response to people getting on Trump for his "sexism." I was trying to point out Bill got a free pass vs. Trump in that regard. I told you I like Clinton's speeches. I just feel that his wife, Hillary, is very very despicable if that's the right word. Or rude. Or elitist. I don't want her as President. Jimmy Carter IMO is one, almost perfect human being. Check my initial post. The CLinton sex stuff was brought up by me in response to the attacks on Trump for sexism. I feel I correctly pointed out Bill has committed an act that many people woulda been villified for forever. p.s. Has Hulk Hogan been forgiven yet? Other celebs who have "mis-stepped?" Wait I thought cheating on your wife was acceptable by Greg?
  19. QUOTE (peavy44 @ Dec 28, 2015 -> 01:14 PM) He slow down the market these guys want J Heyward money now. Oh boy.
  20. QUOTE (peavy44 @ Dec 28, 2015 -> 12:41 PM) Maybe I am wrong too. I think you need a lesson on how internet rumors/sources work. 1) Things always get lost in translation, one person saying "offer" may really just mean an informal amount of money being talked about. 2) Changes occur all the time, at the time of one's "report", they may have been 100% accurate, but since that time things may be completely different. Gordon could have an offer and then Upton's party decides to play with the Sox, that may change the conversations with Gordon. Let it ride out, don't fret until something official comes out. Enjoy the information we get as it speaks more to the process than to the actual results (hint: it shows what the Sox favor and want to do but it doesn't mean it will come to fruition).
  21. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 19, 2015 -> 11:37 PM) I really hope rei is not related to Luke or leia. Just let her be an anomaly. That the force is some hereditary gene would be lame as hell. Grow the world. I was just saying that to my roommate today, stop revolving it around one family. I get that it adds emotion for the characters but there's other ways to do that.
  22. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 19, 2015 -> 11:23 PM) It's really hard watching your basketball program disintegrate so quickly before your eyes. Sigh, yes it is.
  23. I never mentioned electing Hillary or even mentioned her at all, I just pointed out the terribleness of 1) your logic 2) how bad Trump is as a person 3) how eerily similar he politics like Hitler. I have my own thoughts on Hillary, and no I don't favor her, but Trump is the absolute worst. Also, Trump is terrible with money.
  24. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 19, 2015 -> 10:28 PM) What do we have to lose voting in Trump? Politics thoroughly sucks and he'd knock the political world on its butt. Presidents can't do much anyway. He just might fix the economy and bring back some pride in America. America has not been this defeatest in a long long time. People are down on everything right now except their own families. No money available for the little guy; all going to the top 2 percent. You think Hillary is gonna get us out of this malaise? Hillary? Give Trump a shot, folks. This is Hitler-speak right here, jesus f***ing christ. What do we have to lose voting in Trump? Everything. He feeds on people's fear and is openly admitting to wanting to take freedoms away from an entire following of a religion. That right there is Hitler 2.0, and it's not an exaggeration. He just might fix the economy and bring back some pride in America. Again, Hitler-speak. Hey he might bring some jobs back!! He's going to make Germany a proud nation again! But he's also going to bring in hate, fear and prejudice against a mass population...Ah those damn Muslims, without them we wouldn't have any problems in this down but great nation. America has not been this defeatest in a long long time. Greg, you are the largest defeatest on this entire site, and it's not even close. No money available for the little guy; all going to the top 2 percent. Sure this is partly right, so you want to elect a guy in the top 2% who acts terribly against those not in the 2%????
