QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Nov 18, 2015 -> 09:40 PM) Sorry, he seems like a good kid, but he's not the type of player that plays on a good team. So early to be putting my Alma Mater on the "pay no mind list", but they are just so hurt and not good. Ugh, just no, stop it. He may never be a star but he is going to be a good one for us. Stop looking at only rankings on how to eval a player.

SWBF is a lot of fun, as mentioned it isn't the smoothest gameplay but it's a fun FPS still.

Yup, those protesters were in the wrong, absolutely should be called out. That said, it doesn't mean the movement itself is wrong. Hopefully they learn a lesson and any future protests are smarter, classier, and more meaningful.

I've been one of groce's biggest backers but this is unacceptable. If the season continues like this then he needs to go.

Wisky loses, makes me feel ever so slightly less s***ty.

Geez, this is craziness. I've got a friend in Paris right now, haven't heard back from him yet, really hope he wasn't near the stadium or anything.

QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 11, 2015 -> 04:30 PM) I say keep tipping. I think the ideal state is to pay waiters/service staff more and at the same time cut down on tipping. Essentially, raise the guaranteed money while cutting down on the variable (though possibly higher at times) pay from tips. If a server is really good then you still have the normalcy of seeing a higher tip. Problem is, that's a shift that is harder to accomplish than a full cut out of tips, people would still feel obligated to tip a higher percentage if a tip was still expected (and that would hurt businesses in the long run since people would see a higher bill on average).

The fact that you call them "african judges" is a giant concern in itself.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 01:24 PM) Anyone ever done an amazon trade in with their consoles? I want to trade in my PS3 for a PS4 Not with a console but I've done it for other things, super easy.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 12:10 PM) For some reason I was thinking about Carlos Quentin yesterday so I looked up his BR page, saw how old he was and thought how sad it was that he was done. I saw him during his last season vs. the Cubs and he could barely stand. Now, he is said to be attempting a comeback, and most assuredly will have to sign a minor league contract. Supposedly he would market himself as a 1B/DH/OF. Sign me up. If he can't do it, so what? He won't be healthy the entire season, but when he is, he is exactly the type of hitter the Sox need. You just said he could barely stand last year, and then you want to sign him?

Illinois fires AD Mike Thomas
bigruss replied to LittleHurt05's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 10:39 AM) Maybe, but Illinois is at the bottom of the pecking order for coaches, so timing matters less. Being able to go hard after someone like Babers early can make all the difference. -
Illinois fires AD Mike Thomas

Ugh, this timing...such an Illinois thing to do. We better have a good idea of who can take over, as mentioned our next FB hire is coming up quickly. -
Wait, when did the media go soft on Obama? That is such selective memory there. Carson is a freaking joke of a candidate. His radio ad is awesome though, listen to that flute! I also love that the ad starts with "Heal", which I definitely took in as "heel" instead.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 09:10 AM) I just came across my original install CD for it this week. What's the cheat code for the machine gun-firing Cobra? Ha forgot about that thing, that was great.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Nov 5, 2015 -> 03:41 PM) Just downloaded Age of Empires II from Steam for $3.99 Nice, may have to look into that. Me and my roommate have been getting back into Mideival Total War II, good stuff.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Nov 4, 2015 -> 12:12 PM) And Star Wars Battlefront comes out about a week later. Going to be a fun winter. I just preordered Battlefront, pumped for that.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 3, 2015 -> 07:56 PM) Ill be honest, I have absolutely no idea how fallout/elder scrolls games could even be playable on consoles. I dont mean thay from a tech standpoint either. I would not even consider them on ps4/xbox. I played the s*** out of Skyrim on PS3, loved it on that console. I haven't had a gaming desktop since HS so consoles are the only thing I use these days. I didn't enjoy the new Elder scrolls though, just couldn't get into it. Not sure if it was the story, the online mode or what.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 3, 2015 -> 05:28 PM) I guess, but Bostic was a player that played zero games up until that point and Jared Allens production as a bear was zilch. The difference really isn't that much, I would say the Bears got pretty good value considering Not disagreeing I just think that was the logic Mike was using. We've seen arguments around it in baseball, trading for a player on June 30th should have more value than on July 31st because you've got a month more with that player. Doesn't really matter usually though, as Jason pointed out it's a move for playoff time not for getting to the playoffs.
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 3, 2015 -> 04:51 PM) Huh? Bears' trades were earlier in the season so had more games those players could play in. Earlier trade = more value just in terms of games playable on new team.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 3, 2015 -> 01:03 PM) Yep. I have this one: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007ZTMTCG. I've championed it on here in some other thread. Get an electric one. It's awesome being able to set it and forget it. I smoked for years with a Weber charcoal grill and it was an annoying process to have to check the temp, mess with the vents, and then add charcoal every 3-4 hours. You can go cheaper and just get the standard model for like $180, or you can go up wards of $400 and get one that has a window, an internal light and a remote control to keep track and control the temp of the unit, as well as the temp of the meat. The window isn't really that helpful. It's tough to see when there's smoke, condensation and/or grime buildup. The light is awesome though, as is the remote control. It also doesn't waste a ton of chips. I use maybe 2-3 handfuls for an entire 12-13 hour smoke if i'm doing a pork butt. On my Weber I was using half a bag it seemed like. I've smoked just about everything in it: pork butt, ribs, chicken, brisket, salmon, mac and cheese, etc. etc. All comes out great. How does it hold up in Chicago weather? I've got a big patio but not really a ton of storage space for something like this. Would it handle winters under a covering? Or do you think it needs to be stored indoors.

Nationals screw over Bud Black, hire Dusty Baker
bigruss replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in The Diamond Club
Whoa, 1 year offer to Black? C'mon... And yea Jason, he'd be on my short list. -
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 3, 2015 -> 10:43 AM) Anyone have a smoker? I am looking to get into the electric smoker market and I wanted to see if anyone had thoughts My brother got one a bit ago, I'll try and find the link on amazon, he loves it. Around $400 from what I remember. He smoked a turkey in it and I tried some, absolutely amazing stuff.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 03:35 PM) LOL i totally agree with this. Jar Jar came off 100% as his bad attempt to recreate the Ewok merchandise magic Well instead it was a bad attempt to recreate Yoda merchandise, I'm starting to believe and be a sucker for this.
