  1. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 06:46 PM) I have a feeling out of nowhere we will get a pretty good bat, nothing special but something that will improve the offense enough. I would love Adam Lind I pushed for him in the offseason, but I wouldn't want to give up much for him now because he's a rental and I don't think the Sox are in a position to give up quality prospects for a rental.
  2. Why would anyone really be worried about blocking Morse to anywhere? He's been straight garbage and has a fair amount of money left on his deal.
  3. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 03:39 PM) He made two tweets back to back on the "trade." Took awhile to scroll down to find a tweet of his that was even retweeted. Dude is a doofus.
  4. QUOTE (GoGoSox2k2 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 02:52 PM) which chicago guy broke the news orginally? why wouldnt he have said could be a 3 teamer.. wouldnt he want the credit?? Gordon Wittenmeyer of the sun times.
  5. Anyone else find it ironic that Miami gave the Dodgers a competitive balance pick as well?
  6. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 10:50 AM) Latos is a good move for them. He has pitched much better then his ERA would indicate. I was going by ERA+, which he has an 85 of right now. Just a quick view to see how he was doing. First reports are 3 minor league pitchers going to Miami.
  7. I thought this was bigger initially but Latos has been pretty pedestrian to bad this year and Morse has been awful.
  8. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 03:42 PM) I bet DJ Williams gets a lot of PG time. He was a point-forward his senior year. They'll be a bubble team. Unless Hill goes for 20 a night, they'll miss out i'm sure. Quentin Snyder's signing day de-commit hurts more and more every season. Snider* But yea, that and missing on Evans/Brunson after going all out for those 2 is killer, could've had a decent pg in Watson (well I would assume we could've gotten him).
  9. As someone who has had to plan a conference, I can assure you that every single place will rip you off wherever they can. Doesn't matter if it's a hotel or strict convention place, they will charge you an insane amount of money for basic things. I had mine (about 70 people so pretty small) at a hotel in downtown Grand Rapids, we were charged something like $50 for each gallon of coffee.
  10. QUOTE (Boogua @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 12:37 PM) Sucks for Groce, but he should still lose his job if he misses the tourney. I still love Groce but yes this, if he doesn't he needs to go. Would be a huge blow for the program to have to start over.
  11. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 11:53 AM) Again? I kid, I kid. Ha it's been long enough. Abrams tore his acl again, ugh why couldn't we just get a pg.
  12. Rumors now flying Tracy Abrams is hurt again, no idea how bad or what type of injury but jesus f***ing christ, the basketball gods do not want Illinois to be good again.
  13. How did Pixar let that one get made? Looks absolutely awful.
  14. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 20, 2015 -> 10:46 AM) It's so much fun, especially when you play with friends. I played with a friend for like 3 hours yesterday, I'm thinking it'll be a great "party" game as well. Back to the days of Mario Kart 64 battles.
  15. Rocket league is addictive and a blast, thanks for the recommendation! And yes it's free for plus members.
  16. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 15, 2015 -> 03:24 PM) Wait what? Someone thought our sun was going to die in TWENTY years? LOL. Winter is coming... Fixed, come on!
  17. Whoa that's a big big hit, he was one of the promising pieces for you guys. I really wanted him at Illinois but reclassifying hurt us a lot.
  18. My company today publically announced a security breach, luckily it was not anywhere close to Target bad (no social security or credit card data was breached). There was a ton of stress/work around this, I would hate to be in a large scale breach like we've been seeing.
  19. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 10:27 AM) As a guy who often pitches when playing 16", I just want to point out that you can't really throw curveballs. With the arc minimum at 6' (and usually it's a lot more than that), at that low a velocity, you can't get enough horizontal rotation to have it actually move in any meaningful way. You CAN put serious backspin on it if you flip-pitch like I do, which makes it drop harder as it approaches the plate, but that's really it. It is 90% about location and arc/velocity, along with maybe some side-jump angle tricks. The spin is limited to making it drop a little harder. Yea I know, they weren't really curveballs but he was doing the whole side-step thing to try and put any curve he could on it. The pitcher previous to him did the backspin flip pitch as well as doing "fake" pitches all the time (would do the motion, stop, then would pitch fast after that trying to get your timing off). I may do that to a top hitter, but not to bottom of the order girls especially when up 15 runs.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jul 8, 2015 -> 09:44 PM) 7 Days in Hell was absurd, stupid and hilarious, everything I expected from it. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 12, 2015 -> 10:55 PM) Did anyone catch 7 Days in Hell on HBO? Absolutely hilarious.
  21. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 12, 2015 -> 07:57 AM) Agreed 100%. It would take terrific reviews for me to even think about going to see it. Yup, would take a huge amount of praise to get me to see this. And that praise can't be from Joshua

    Grilling

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 9, 2015 -> 09:04 AM) Nice, what kind of grill did you get? Condo's can be tough to buy for. Grill While I have a 600sqft deck thats all concrete/brick I think I'm still limited to propane which is unfortunate but expected. Pretty happy with that grill at that price.
