  1. A week before the season starts?! Such an Illinois move...
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 27, 2015 -> 10:24 AM) This breakdown of the Ashley Madison data dump is freaking awesome. Basically that site was more of a sausage fest then a mlb fan baseball message board. Spoiler, out of the 5.5 million registered accounts to women, roughly 12,000 of them show any level of actual activity, compared to something like 20 million on the guys side. http://gizmodo.com/almost-none-of-the-wome...base-1725558944 Lolz awesome.
  3. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 25, 2015 -> 07:57 PM) When you guys first got your driver's license, did you buy a car/did your parents get you one? Or neither We moved to a house in Michigan that was like 10 miles from our HS so my parents bought my brother a car that got passed down to me. I eventually bought it off of them, and then traded it in about a year after then.
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 24, 2015 -> 11:15 PM) Couple of questions. ... -- Any Western Illinois fans? Is Benet QB Jack Beneventi expected to do anything in Macomb? Why did Iowa dump him as a commitment? -- Anybody know where Benet's John Duvic the kicker has surfaced? He has left Kansas. Finally --- Anybody know if Martez Walker is Central Michigan's top running back this season? Beneventi sucks, he regressed a lot his senior year and I believe he was even benched. Not what one would call big ten caliber.
  5. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 26, 2015 -> 08:25 PM) They need to stop recruiting kids dumb enough to get caught. It's not like the players in 05 were perfect off the court either. Winning cures a lot of the angst around the program. The new class has a lot of "good" kids in it, I think besides Paul the team this year is way more likeable than recent years.
  6. QUOTE (Boogua @ Aug 26, 2015 -> 07:07 PM) I'm sure whatever the number from the basketball team was will likely fall now that Rice and Cosby are gone. Having Paul now away from the program should help as well.
  7. I've got this feeling that the Illini are going to suck this year, like end .500 overall bad. But then again I had a feeling last year that we were a sweet 16 team so hopefully it just goes to the inverse.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 17, 2015 -> 10:14 AM) I love Vikings. Great show. You'll enjoy it. Yea it was entertaining, also love that Amazon Prime has it for streaming.
  9. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 12:12 PM) JFC. Cut him loose. I'm guessing they are just waiting to get back from Europe to officially announce he's off the team.
  10. QUOTE (gatnom @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 08:58 AM) Looks like Darius Paul was suspended again. Got sent home early from the Europe trip. Sam McLaurin posted some stuff on it last night, sounds like he broke a window on a Ferrari or some s***. Couldn't even make it to the semester without getting in trouble...great decisions by him and the staff has now wasted a ton of time on him.
  11. LOL Greg....thank you for being you.

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 09:16 PM) If multiple shootouts, raids and detective work is boring then yes that was the definition of bland Look, I know you study film and want to work in it but that show was mediocre at best this time around. If it wasn't for the first season then that show would've been cancelled. It's too bad but it was a tough act to follow.
  13. I was never a comic kid but Deadpool looks f***ing amazing, can't wait for it.
  14. Seems odd that some rumors are pointing him to Toronto, why would he trade with them at the deadline then? I wouldn't imagine he'd really want to help them out for a rental piece, makes the current guy more likely to stay and takes a top prospect that could be there still if he moves over.
  15. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Aug 3, 2015 -> 04:21 PM) My thoughts exactly. We are craving for a new identity yet they keep promoting from within. This pretty much means nothing will change in regards to scouting and development. The scouting approach will most likely remain the same and the farm system will continue to lack depth year in and year out. What if Nick is actually a great choice for this job? We have no idea how good he actually is, screaming that we need to go outside the org for help without knowing a single thing about this guy or replacement options adds little to this board or this discussion.
  16. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 3, 2015 -> 09:54 AM) When Brett Lawrie comes off as less docuhey than you, you know it's fake. Fixed
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 12:07 PM) That's not the calculation. The calculation is: Shark > Johnson Cespedes/Upton > Avi Which of those > signs is bigger? I don't think Upton or Cespedes are really impact bats, sure they are an improvement but they don't really change the dynamic of the offense. Losing Shark in the rotation is a big impact there. Also, you lose a comp pick so you better be getting some more value.
  18. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 12:05 PM) White Sox's pursuit of impact RH bat (Yoenis Cespedes/Justin Upton) might lead to Jeff Samardzija trade, either in 3-team deal or 2 trades. https://twitter.com/philgrogers/status/627162584370814976 Ugh, Shark >> Cespedes/Upton imo.
  19. I'm young but I like high yield dividend stocks to supplement my portfolio. Disclaimer: I wiped out my account to buy a condo so haven't really kept up with the market much.
  20. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 06:06 PM) Fair enough, but he's really fallen off recently. I suppose he still has value given his contract, but not nearly what he once had. His defense has fallen off, his offense has fallen off in 3 of the past 4 years. Given this trend, and the mileage on him, I wouldn't be surprised to see him battle injuries and continue a general decline over the next several years. Does he have value? Yes...but is the disparity THAT large? And worth THOSE types of packages? Not to me. While I won't trade Anderson/Montas for anything I really think it would be wise for us to trade at least Anderson for a impact, long term bat. I have zero faith in him being an everyday player in the bigs.
  21. His power has really dropped the past 2 years, wondering if that's age/wear and tear or something else. 7/110 is a really risky number but if they are willing to take a package of Anderson/Montas/2 others I would probably do it with the difficulty we've had finding an everyday 3b lately.
  22. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 05:28 PM) That is just too steep of a package to give up for a rental. I'm giving up that sort of package for Gomez or Reddick or someone else. I don't know that the other teams do it, but that is what I'm trying to get. This is where I'm at, I would give up a lottery ticket prospect or two like Hawkins for a rental but anything that I see helping the team in the next year or two is staying unless traded for a multi-year impact bat. I'm not even that high on Anderson, would love to trade him for a cost controlled young hitter.
  23. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 10:42 AM) No rentals!! Unless they are dirt cheap. I don't want Cespedes or Upton. Then we go 2-5 next week and we're f***ed. Exactly, unless the cost is really minimal I want nothing to do with rentals.
