I would have gone with Casanova. Anderson had struggled & Casanova was at least feeling it of late with his 3 AB. Blum gave you less than 20% chance of scoring a run in that sit. About the same as Anderson. But I certainly can't blame Ozzie for going with the veteran.

He had a choice between using Anderson or Casanova for a single AB or Blum. You have virtually nothing to go on with Anderson & Casanova. Ozzie went with the veteran.

I'm not sure I'd agree. I've got to look at the other options. Opp were only hitting .186 against that guy at home. Project that on to the .200 for LH, .238 for RH & it's much worse. You definitely wanted a RH bat in that spot.

It's true you could have skipped Blum's AB & let AJ hit but consider that LH's are hitting .200 vs Spurling & RH's are hitting .238. Blum had never faced him before.

Let me try & explain .. why Blum. Borchy PH for Ozuna & then was replaced in the field by AJ. Blum PH for Widger & then replaced Ozuna in the field. You needed a defensive replacement at 3B in that sit. Who else is there?

My GM here at home chewed me out to no ends the last time I got involved with time-consuming debate. I'm on a 1 post per thread per day limit now. I'm on the honor system & already violated it. That's weighing on my conscience already. I'll weigh in again tomorrow. Take care.

George doesn't count. He's serving his 2nd term. All that counts is the impact he has on local elections of senators & house members. Those are driven mostly by local issues & the GOP seems to have the upper hand. As for GOP represenatives & senators from the great state of Texas has any of this stuff really hurt their re-election bids? I doubt it.

How should I respond? I can produce a multitude of quotes from the Bible strongly supporting the believe that health care is indeed a God-given right. But I would prefer to take the secular route on this one. Does the phrase "life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness" ring a bell? How can health care be considered any less important than a utility? Com-Ed can't raise utility rates w/out state board approval. Why should health care be any different?

What is there about today's public education system that endoctrinates a student towards "personal responsibility?" It's a joke. Personal responsibility stops at F all you want just be sure to use a condom. If you can't afford your own we have plenty :rolly: It's nearly impossible for a Christian lay person to abstain from sex before marriage. It's foolish to believe free condoms is going to help the situation. Increasing the appetite, increases the obsession. Increasing the obsession increases the desire of wanting to live dangerously. This is true for any drug of pleasure. Sex is no different.

Nuke, I'd be lying if I didn't say I'm not profiting from it. But that only pacifies the economic conservative that still dominates my personal finances. It does nothing to pacify the social conservative that dominates my soul. I'm willing to give up the profits for escalated taxes on consumption. That's the social conservative bringing out the economic liberal in me. I would imagine that most Christians have similar battles raging within them. Similarly the econ in me profits from managed healthcare systems. But I would gladly give up those profits for the introduction of the US Health Care Service. Owned & operated in similar fashion to the US Postal Service so as to make health care a more competitive market. There are serious problems facing America today & simply counting personal profits doesn't help.

:rolly The key word is "allegations". It is up to law enforcement agencies to determine if these "allegations" are serious enough to issue arrest warrants. If that were to happen the Freedom of Information Act would afford the media the right to their names. The Church have taken a "guilty by association" policy where allegations are enough to remove the men from public ministry. Only a liberal would expect something more than that.

I disagree. As it plays out the Dem & liberal groups as well as the messenger are painted as being more radical & extreme in thinking. This only helps in giving moderates another reason to vote for conservatives. What I find of interest the most in all this is that it appears the Dems & liberals in general have lost enough credibility with the American people of late to where they have to rally behind any newsworthy person regardless of circumstance or background just to get their message heard.

You are correct. If we sweep the Tiggers & the Indians win out we would win the division on the basis of H2H. For the Indians to earn the right to a 1 gm playoff as a tie-breaker a non ALC team would need to win the WC with a better record than the ALC teams.

Just another result of a public education system that divorces love & commitment to marriage from sex. Why are some of you surprised? The public schools teach sex education & distribute condoms like they were training kids to be porno stars. This occurs at ages USSC justice Ginsberg approves of (12+). Had this woman been endoctrinated with the belief that sex & marriage are indivisible it's unlikely she would have been crazy enough to do this.
