I heard him say that and laughed. -

Watching that play live from the 3rd base side, it didn't look intentional at all. -
QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 02:11 PM) Then you need to ditch Mr. Hashana and get a boyfriend that will spend more time. LMAO!!!

I really hope Brain gets the time off and we can get to Raleigh late November for our honeymoon - it's gonna ROCK!

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 02:07 PM) Winds now up to 150 mph sustained, Category 5 here we come. I was looking at the projected path and it looks like my boss, coworker and the plant are on the outer edges if they do get hit.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 01:17 PM) Good Old Jim "Hunker Down" Cantori – yep, when he shows up in your neighborhood it's time to move. he did several Florida Francis broadcasts at a gas station corner about two miles from our house at the time (just recently moved a few miles away). So, before Jeanne came to get us 3 weeks later, the gas station owners gou up on the roof and painted "Welcome Back Jim!" in huge letters. LMAO!

It's been a rough few days. Monday, my car started acting off so I had to request an emergency day off for yesterday. By monday night we knew Stinky wasn't going to make it and then whil Brain was getting ready for work, we got a call from his sister that his dad was rushed to the hospital. Here it is Wednesday and they still don't know what is wrong. Took the car in Tuesday and it turned out to be a wheel bearing (much worse than anticipated), but at least it was covered by warranty so it was $400 out of the dealership's pocket (dealership, not manufacturer warranty), not mine. Then stinky died last night. . . yup, rough couple of days, but we made it and hopefully Mr C is out of the hospital soon.

Stinky Butt died yesterday while I was heading to the game. Brian said about an hr after I left, he heard a loud squeaky(s) and looked over and said the other 3 hamsters were awake and looking at his cage for a minute or two and then went back to sleep. I guess that was their way of saying by to him. RIP Stinky!

My aunt is fighting breast cancer. It's been tough on her.

So what did you do when Crede homered

My mom and I were walking back to my car from the game (I couldn't stay for extra innings since I had to be up between 4-5) and we ran to the car as soon as we heard the fireworks and turned on 1000AM. We were glad we left, we felt like we brought the bad luck out with us lol haha. -
Emergency vets suck ass. I just tried calling several of them and not one of them see hamsters. I told them what was wrong and they didn't even offer the meds for it (wet tail is a common ailment, but can and often is deadly). She says to call a local vet tomorrow morning. He isn't going to see tomorrow morning - why can't they give him something to put him to sleep?! Oh, that's right he won't make them enough money. Where is that f you finger when you need one?! Editted to add: Apparently the other hamsters are not letting him die alone. The two closest to him have moved their nests to the corners closest to Stinky's cage. Thanks for letting me get this out here. I love my little Stinky. Brian said that is always made him laugh because he knew when I was coming home - within five minutes of me walking through the door Stinky would run downstairs to his little door to wait for me and would stand on his hind legs after I closed the door behind me to get my attention lol. I would put him in his ball and instead of meandering where he pleased, he would follow me around and if I was in the shower he would repeatedly roll into the door until I opened it. I hope a miracle happens, but I think he might be beyond miracles at this point.

I watched a special on Discovery Health about this subject. If it can work, it will be a saving grace for those who suffered burns and other tramatic facial injuries.

Looks like Stinky Butt is worse this afternoon. I don't want him to die, but I can't stand that he is suffering. . . I wish God would just take him already. He's had a little over two years which is the low end of their typical life span. This sucks being at work today. At least I will be home tomorrow since my car has to get taken in for diagnosis.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 12:12 PM) If anyone ever wants to watch a compelling story about this, try catching "Isaac's Storm" on the History Channel when it comes on again. Galveston was the biggest city in the state of Texas in 1900 when this storm hit. The devestation and dead were incredible. Galveston is a lot better equipped to handle storms of this nature today as evidenced by the hit they took from Hurricane Alicia in 1983. They also remembered a valuable lesson in leaving the island if there is going to be a hurricane. http://www.usatoday.com/weather/huricane/history/walicia.htm I've seen that twice - it is something else the damage that was caused. I am looking to get the book as well.

Been better been worse. Had my shower yesterday, but stinky butt isn't doing so well (I don't think he will live to see the next weekend) and something is up with my car - after replacing the altenator/battery a few weeks ago, I don't need another repair bill right now.

My mom, myself, my two aunts and three of their friends will be at tomorro's game. My mom, brother and myself will be at Saturday's game. -
Too much emotion this weekend. First, my hamster is dying. I don't think Stinky Butt is going to see the end of the week. I hope the little rat bastard proves me wrong, but he is declining rapidly now and the medicine he has been taking isn't helping much (hoping it is a situation that he needs to get worse before he gets better, but I don't think so ). Next, driving to work this morning, I noticed the handling is getting bumpy, but the tires have plenty of tread and inflation so I have no idea what is wrong and have no time to deal with it. Lastly, I had my bridal shower yesteryday and the number of people that turned out floored me. It was great to see so many family members and to hang out with the bridesmaids, especially my sister. Of course my mom got me - she had a tupence from the first trip my parents took to Ireland together (she was pregnant with me and no, she didn't know she was having a girl). The tupence a tradition that calls for it to be placed in my right shoe as a good luck charm so that Brian and I may never be hungry - there is always money for bread. A 'tupence' or two pence is used as a symbol of two becoming one. Needless to say I started crying while reading the card. And now, day has become night as all hell prepares to break loose out here in Rolling Meadows. Thanks for letting me get this out.

The Cincinnati Reds overcame a frightening injury to Sean Casey and handed Zach Duke his first major league loss. I saw the play while I was at the gym. It looked nasty. Hope Sean is okay.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 06:13 PM) "I love this job more than I love taffy ... and I'm a man who enjoys his taffy." I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooo glad I wasn't the only one thinking those quotes while watching that!

I tried expedia and it kept telling me it couldn't find anything where the other two found 3 pages of possibilities. I will try it again just in case I am not entering something correctly though. I will check into hotwire. Thanks for the suggestion.

Which site is best? So far I have tried travelocity, expedia and orbitz. The only one worth anything was travelocity (hopefully it will still be there tomorrow after we get confirmation that Brain gets the okay on his vacation request). Are there any other sites I should check out? We are looking at leaving 11/18 and returning the morning of 11/24 (yes, I know that is Thanksgiving day). We are headed to Raleigh, NC staying near RBC (ie within 10 miles or so). I just wanted to make sure there isn't any site that I am forgetting to check. Thanks!

In addition to my above posts, I can understand why girls would rather join boy scouts instead of girls scouts. I was in girl scouts for a couple years and it was (just about) the MOST boring experience I have ever had. My brother was in boy scouts for a couple years and actually did fun, educational stuff.
