We had a problem in the neighborhood with some 12 and 13 year old girls throwing ketchup and mustard on cars and mine was hit several times. Our neighbor caught them in the act and had a talk with the parents. No more ketchup and mustard probelms unless you count when I ran out and had no ketchup for my fries lol. haha

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 03:53 PM) You also might want to try "Goo-Gone" if you dont like the smell of fingernail polish remover. Its a citrus based glue/compound remover. It also gets baked on ketchup and mustard off of car doors without taking the pain or dulling the paint!

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 01:29 PM) Ummm... how do I put this? I have issues with Frank Thomas, but I respect him for what he's done for the organization as a player. How's that? That makes two of us.

As of about 3 or 4 yesterday, they were supposed to be moving everyone to a 4th floor meeting room type area that is in the core of the building (one of the few larger areas in the building without windows).

Is there any way to find out how the hotels are holding up? I am trying to decide if I should call Cathy to see if she has heard from Chris or not.
-
Say a few prayers if you can. There are many people in the dome down there bracing for this. There are many people in the hotels there as well - Brian's sister's boyfriend is one of them. So far he is fine and they are calling every hour or two maintaining contact.

Hell yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! White Sox win. Jeff Burton gets 2nd and Ricky Rudd gets 4th in NASCAR and for a few other things - HECK YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was shocked by DJ's behaviour. I think he let his temper get to him after the bump and runs by Newman and Rusty. Newman pulls that crap regularly so I didn't feel bad for him, but I did for the other drivers that were taken out by it.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Jeff and Ricky!!!! A second place finish for my boy and Ricky gets 4th! I like Kenseth as well, but would have been happier if Jeff passed him - too bad Bucky hung back and ran interference for Kenseth - not that Kenseth really needed it though.

My dad was born and raised in Ireland. My mom is 100% Polish, but she was born and raised in the Roseland neighborhood of Chicago.

Ditto that!

I was surprised it took as long as it did for the first rip on PK.

Officials Prepared To 'Wait Out' Suspected Robber Officials Prepared To 'Wait Out' Suspected Robber Man's Safe Removal From Home Is Agencies Joint Priority VILLA PARK, Ill. -- A standoff involving a suspected bank robber continued Friday morning in a residential home at the edge of unincorporated Villa Park. NBC5's Lisa Tutman reported that police are prepared for another long day at the scene as they wait out the man who is believed to be a former Marine. A police chase Thursday afternoon ended with the suspect holing up inside the suburban home after forcing the residents out. As the standoff neared the 24 hour mark, an FBI spokesman said that law enforcement agencies at the scene do not intend to do anything to force an altercation with the suspect. "We're willing to wait him out," said special agent Frank Bochte. "We have the resources to wait him out, and it's going to be up to him." Officials say the multiple agencies involved in the standoff have one over-riding priority. "Our priority is to get that man out of that house safely," said Carol Roegner, of the DuPage County Sheriff's Department. Authorities closed the surrounding streets in the area near North Avenue and Route 83 Friday morning and evacuated residents from area homes. Police and SWAT teams, assisted by the FBI, surrounded the house where the man, thought to be wearing body armor, barricaded himself. Roads closed in the area included southbound Route 83 from Interstate 290 to St. Charles, northbound Route 83 between St. Charles to North Avenue and eastbound North Avenue from Villa Road to Route 83. Some residents in the area were frustrated by the lengthy standoff. "I can't believe he's lasted that long. They should just go in there and get him out. They have a SWAT team here, go in there and get him out," resident John Knasko said. "It just looks like a war zone," another resident, Suzanne Minford, told Tutman Friday morning. "You're wondering what's going on and it's amazing to see all these for one man that they're trying to capture with no hostage. It's scary." Residents and police alike hope the situation ends with no injuries. "I just feel real bad that someone would have to do that, and I just hope he makes it out ok, because there's always hope," said Branden Mathena. NBC5 reported that the chase followed a bank robbery at The Harris Bank at 1000 S. La Grange Road at about 12:30 p.m. Police followed the suspect along Interstate 294, exchanging gunfire with the suspect. Two officers were injured by flying glass in the return fire after the suspect hit two squad cars, NBC5 reported. The chase ended in a parking lot at North Avenue and Route 83 in Villa Park, where witnesses said the man bailed out of his car and ran into a nearby house. The residents of the home fled, and the man stayed inside, not communicating with police until after 5 p.m. Friday when he picked up his cell phone, police said. That communication was quickly terminated by the suspect, NBC5 reported. Police used a bullhorn and telephone in continued attempts to contact the suspect inside. A white Cadillac, with its windows shot out, was towed from the scene. Witnesses said that it was the car the suspect was driving when he bailed out and took off on foot. A witness to part of the chase described what he saw. "All the sudden we heard some sirens and this guy in a white Caddy came flying out of nowhere and blew into the parking lot. About seven or eight squads came flying out of nowhere and some guy in (a) tan Sable comes flying out, flak jackets on, the whole deal, and he came flying through the woods," the man, identified as Michael, said. Detective Jim Williams, of the DuPage County Sheriff's Office, said that the man was not holding any hostages. Police considered the man armed and very dangerous, NBC5 reported. **************************************************************** 290 was screwed up last night with SB 83 being closed off.

Something along those lines is why I cannot stand to be near anykind of vine plant. I watched "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" when I was about 10 and our next door neighbors grew chinese winter melons (I think that is what it was called). You could chop one of the vines down and I swear within about 5 minutes that bastard vine was twice as long as before it was chopped. Brian thinks it is freaking hilarious to drag me out to the woods behind our house and try to drag me into the area where there is a viney ground cover.

I had lobster once on my way back from Ensenada, Mexico. Couldn't get into the taste. I can't imagine myself ordering lobster again.

Brian and I get those on a daily basis - him more than me. It's become a running joke to see which country wants his help today.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 10:38 AM) How was the gas consumption of those boats back then? Brian and I were laughing when we looked at the build/sell sheets on our 1970 Fairlane 500 SCJ (1 of 8 with that engine/tranny set up, I might add ). With racing gas, it gets 8 miles to the gallon. We joke that after we finish the restoration and he wants to take it to work, he will have to fill up several times just to get to work. If you have a straight 6 car, the mileage wasn't that much different from an average car today. And those bastards live forever.

I stay out of Brian's way during the Packer games and he stays out of my way during Sox games. We are a very happy couple that way. Too bad we haven't learned to apply that to NASCAR races. There would be less fighting on Sunday that way.

Brian told me about this lady in a Mercedes in front of him in the manual lanes that told the toll booth operator that she shouldn't have to pay. The operator said fine and pointed out the State Trooper on the side of the road and said "Explain it to him." She paid quick enough when the trooper started to make his way to the booth. ********************* I decided to take 294 to 90 today because of all the construction and 83 being shut down and I made some good time on my ride in today.

I watched this story on Cold Case Files. I remember when it was solved I kept thinking that the little girl can finally rest now that she has her name back.

Now if it had been David Pearson, Richard Petty or Jeff Burton (okay, Nascar fans, which one doesn't belong lol?), you might have a deal lol. Now for an off topic though... BRISTOL AT NIGHT BABY! Too bad I have to miss from about 6:45 to about 8 (meeting with Father - my dumbass didn't think about it until after I made the appointment).
