  1. In the opinion of anyone who's ever seen him play, he's a solid all-around player.
  2. I played a PartyPoker multi-table tourney tonight, and I lost...so did 1998 other people. But I went out so stupid that it was a joke. At the turning point in my night, I was the huge chip leader at my table, and was probably top 20-30 in chips...blinds were still like 50-100 and I had around 8,000 in chips. Pre-flop, I look at 10-9, and limp in. Flop comes 10-9-x...I flop top 2 pair. I bet 500, trying to sort of semi-slow play the hand. The guy two seats over raises to all-in...about 3155 total. Of course I call. He has A-J...so he went in with 2 over cards. Turn comes A. River comes A. I honest to God couldn't believe that...I went from looking at a stack of probably over 11,000 to looking at a stack that was about 4,500...yeah, ouch babe. About 5 hands later, I look at J-5...and I limp in. Flop comes 5-x-5...so I flop a set of 5's. Someone bets, someone raises all-in...I call, figuring my kicker is good enough. We all flip our cards over, and the guy has A-5...and my night was pretty much done. I had 40 in chips after that...got deuces in the hole, quadrupled up after making a set on the turn, went all in the next hand with K-7, and was knocked out. So yeah, anyways...I thought that pretty much sucked, and I thought I'd like to say how crappy it was.
  3. I think the main difference between RF and LF is that you need to have an arm in RF, and not so much in LF I think Carlos would be adequate in RF for a short time, but his arm would hurt him big time if he remained there for quite a while. Maggs arm, at the very least, was decent enough to have him be out in RF.
  4. I figured out what was making me think the car was so ugly...it was those headlights in the grill. Check this out... That's a pretty car...I don't like that color on it...but that is a pretty damn car.
  5. The headlights in the grill? Yeah, I see that...and yes, I do agree.
  6. Because OF is essentially the same thing, while you have MI's who have to be small, quick guys and usually you see 1Bman as being big guys who hit the hell out of the ball. However...what I would like to see happen is have 1 GG for CF and 2 GG's for corner outfielders...CF is quite a bit different from LF and RF, though LF and RF are not too different from each other.
  7. Well, whatever...you guys knew what I meant.
  8. BTW...Bradley has been suspended for the rest of the year, like Guillen, but he will not appeal and will enter anger management. Saw it on the bottomline of ESPNEWS
  9. I'm split. It's vintage, yeah. But it also looks like it is a late 80s European piece of s*** car. I don't know...I can't tell just by the picture. I'd have to see one in person.
  10. It completely depends on the price. If it's cheap...hell yeah he's worth it. He can be a very solid hitter(like his .300+ BA tells you, and his 20 homers or so say). But to me, Milton Bradley comes off as an arrogant asshole, while Jose Guillen just seems to be a guy who gets it done on the field and then does his own little thing when not playing. One is more then likely going to get in trouble because of what he does on the field and, quite frankly, because of what he can't do on the field. Milton Bradley acts like he is one of the best players in the league...hot dogging around and showing pitchers up, and that will end up getting him a fastball in the earhole. Meanwhile, I'm quite honestly not sure if I've ever seen Jose Guillen show up an opposing player like that. What I have seen or read about at the very least is him getting very upset about his own pitcher's not protecting him, and him throwing tantrum's. To me, it really is tough...because one side of me would never want a hot dog on my team ever, because the basic principle of that is completely wrong and I hate whenever anybody ever shows up another player...that can even be a White Sox player and I still get upset. But when I look at the Twins of the past 3 years, I saw something that I do see in Milton Bradley...a cocky arrogance about that that just screams 'We're going to kick your ass and there's nothing you can do about it'...they have a swagger in their step. Due to that, they are very confident in their abilities, and they do exactly what they think they're going to do to you. Basically...I'd love to have Milton Bradley if he came at the right price...I would love to see both Guillen and Bradley on the Sox team at the same time, assuming the price is right. That is key...you do not want to overpay for players who may be problem children, and will not play unless they have their way. Anyways, I think that clears it up a little.
  11. I can't imagine how long that took to type out. Mad props to you, Critic!
  12. That's do to him being a fly-ball pitcher. His GO-AO ratio is under 1.00.
  13. I am quite sure that you are correct.
  14. Why, we would have lost the division anyways. This has never been a 95 win team at any point in the season, and 95 wins will win the division...the Twins say so. The only time you should cry about thinking what could have been was 2003. We had probably the best 1-2-3 in the AL(Colon-Buehrle-Loaiza would have mowed down the competition), and one of the most potent offenses as well, along with a pretty damn solid pen. That's that team I try not to think about anymore, because that team could have made a lot of damage in the postseason.
  15. Nope. Not true. You can tell by how hard they play who their biggest rivals are...the intensity level is up for their games against the Sox, and it is not so much against the Indians. They want to beat the White Sox...badly
  16. Delgado will sign with LA. And, I feel as though I can safely say, count on it.
  17. I think you're right. It would not surprise me to see Baltimore offer him 4-years, $40 mill, in all honesty. And, quite frankly, I'd rather go with a guy like Radke anyways. He knows how to throw to the AL Central, and he has thrown in the Cell before, and he has thrown well there. I want to see a control pitcher who just gives good innings after good innings on the South Side. I don't need dominance...I need solidity.
  18. I understand those other points, but as I mentioned before, he has hopped around from team to team for other reasons, though I can't say attitude hasn't been a factor. From about 96 or 98 to 2002, he hopped around because he stunk. In 2003, he put it all together and had a very good 1st half of the year with Cincinatti, and was dealt to Oakland around the trade deadline. Oakland didn't resign him because they did not have the money to make such a move. Anaheim gambled and picked him up, and he's put up very good numbers for them. He will be moved this upcoming offseason due to attitude alone, in all likelyhood...and I would also guess that that would be the first time he is moved for that sole reason.
  19. Also, something I forgot about, was the relationship between Pavano and Ozzie. That could influence it as well, as Ozzie was 3B coach for Florida for like a year or two.
  20. I do see where that would hurt the team...I do understand that concept completely. Maybe I have misunderstood the whole asshole thing. Still...if he comes cheaply, it is a medium-risk, very high-reward type of situation...if he comes here and doesn't gel, we trade him at the deadline for a decent package of players. If he does come here and fit right in, and he shapes up, he could have a monster year.
  21. What?! I get out of school only to come on to a message board and find more school?! AAGHHHHH!!!! There is no real reason one would want to come to Chicago...the Sox do not have a history of winning...they do not have a core of guys set in place that will for sure win a lot of games...they do not have super-coaches, they do not have a bright future(in fact, I would go as far as say that the future is looking gloomy), and they are in an AL Central that is slowly becoming a very solid division...one could argue that it is a better division then even the AL East. There are draws to Chicago, however. If Pavano came here, he would become the ace of the staff, for sure. If he cares about turning franchises around, he could come in and potentially do that too. The team does have a solid foundation for a pretty good starting rotation too. And, while the AL Central is improving, it is not yet a super-strong division with 2 dominant forces in it...Minnesota has shown that they have been the class of the division for the past 3 years, but they can be beaten, as we almost found out in 2003. Other draws to the Sox that do not affect Pavano are the Latino influence(with the team being made up of almost all latino players, and Ozzie managing it too) and the fact that it is a very good hitter's park which would increase one's value if he were to sign a short contract(given, that only applies to hitters). Also...while Chicago is a big city, playing for the White Sox helps you stay in the shadows a little bit...the Sox are basically treated like a small market club. Not enough to convince one to come to Chicago...but there is not much more going for this team, quite honestly.
  22. I can only say that I do not know...I can't understand how one asshole can ruin it for 24 others in a clubhouse...but then again, I have never been in a clubhouse before. All I know is that Guillen has helped the Angels win this year, even if he has been a dickhead about it, and due to his last outburst, and the Angels publicly stating that he will be traded, his value will be way down, and he could be had very cheaply. I guess we will just agree to disagree.
  23. It means he was rushed to the majors and is probably one of the reasons he struggled in his first several years in the majors.
