  1. Could be. I still don't think he's going to the Yanks though. He'll do his research and go somewhere where he has a very good shot at winning. I've heard he's said he wants to go to St. Louis or New York...those two being the only two teams who have clinched their divisions at this point, with the only thing being left to do is show up and play .500 ball the rest of the year...but New York doesn't have the players to get him, and neither does St. Louis. If that was the final straw, you have to look at Anaheim to get him...maybe try to sell the idea that they tried to get Benson from Pittsburgh, losing him to the Twins, but then they muscle up their offer to Arizona for RJ, and he goes there. If that doesn't happen...I don't know where he goes. I could see Texas, Atlanta, hell, even the White Sox...along with remaining in Arizona too.
  2. IIRC, Heather is right, to an extent, but in this case, she, in all likelyhood, will be wrong. I may be wrong in saying this, but if two teams tie for first place in their division, but 1 does clinch a Wild Card birth, then you go to either heads-up play or divisional play. However, I highly doubt the Wild Card comes from the AL Central...so if we tied, and there was not a wild card birth among the two, there would be a 1-game playoff. I say we just go out and win the division by 10 games.
  3. May(or may not) have something do with him being ejected after hitting Mientkiewicz last year with no warning.
  4. Pay Jason Kendall $34 mill from 05-07? I thought the point in not resigning Maggs was because we could then spend the money more effeciently...spending $34 mill on a catcher is not an effecient way to spend that money.
  5. No I don't. Miami lost the focal point of their offense. At this point, they have Travis Minor as their starting HB...the Bills second string HB(be it McGahee or Henry) is like 10x better then Minor. The Dolphins main two wideouts are Chris Chambers and David Boston(along with Randy McMichael at TE). The Bills, with Lee Evans, Eric Moulds, and Josh Reed, are probably better off there as well. Bledsoe can still throw the ball(even though his awareness in the pocket is like that of a rock), and with Mularkey coming in, that could improve, or he could, perhaps help him. Mularkey was, afterall, the guy who ran the Steelers offense that had Kordell Stewart and Tommy Maddox as the QBs of team. If the Bills offensive line performs well(a HUGE if), their offense will take off. And don't tell me it is because of their defense. The Bills defense is just as good as Miami's defense. I would venture to guess that Miami does in fact finish in last place. You don't actually think that Fiedler or Feeley will like turn it up and play out of their mind, do you?
  6. I would love Guardado...that almost would make it a 5-inning game, meaning, that if we did get to the playoffs, we could let ELo pitch the first 5 innings, hope that he gives up 3 runs or less, and then have Guardado-Politte-Marte-Shingo go from there. That would be insane. But what do you want more...a very good bat to help us get there while acquiring another reliever to just get outs(and not be a friggin stud out of the pen like Guardado would be), or do you just get another decent bat and go for Guardado, and make our pen that much tougher come playoff time? Or do you want to get another stud starter, who can help come in and just shut the friggin door...that guy obviously being Randy Johnson. KW is in a tough, tough position right now. We are probably, at this point, the favorites to win the division. It is most definately our division to lose. However, it is not a guarantee by any means, especially with Maggs and Thomas out of the lineup. He pretty much has the pieces to make, at the very, very, very most, 2 more major moves, and in all likelyhood, 1 major move. For instance, if we do Jas's hypothetical deal for Beltran(I believe Crede, Borchard, Munoz, plus another prospect), we could perhaps make a move of Cotts and Spidale(or someone like that...not sure who though) for Guardado, and at that point, you really almost do not have the pieces to get, say RJ...you could, but you'd end up having to give them Sweeney or Anderson, and that probably would not be good for us. Let's hope he makes the right move.
  7. Tom Verducci wrote an article a couple years ago about I think it was 12 players in MLB history that have finished in the top 10 in homers and average in the same season 5 times or more in their career...11 of the 12 are in the HoF...the 1 that is not...Frank Thomas...meaning, according to those numbers, he is a friggin lock. We'll see though...if Edgar makes it in, Thomas has to...Thomas has better overall numbers and played in the field longer then Edgar did as well.
  8. We don't know...we'll have to see how he develops!(da da bum) Oh wow, I should write this stuff down.
  9. That's not going to happen this year. Miami's entire offense was centered around Williams. They have to come up with an answer in about a month and a half with that assclown as a coach? Not gonna happen. Atleast the Bills won't finish in last place this year.
  10. It could also be Alomar too. KW wanted him to resign with the Sox in the offseason for $2 mill; instead, Robbie thought he could get better, found out he couldn't and signed with Arizona for $1 mill. He wanted to resign with the Sox from what I remember. He's also expressed interest to come back to Chicago too. That means you got RJ(unlikely), Bautista(unlikely with our depth at OF...Everett, Perez, Rowand, Borchard, and even Gload too, if you count him, and then Maggs if/when he comes back), and Alomar(with Uribe and Harris having slowly fallen to earth in the past month or two, it became apparent of our lack of IF depth). If you get an OFer, you may as well get a big time OFer like Beltran...IMO anyways. I'm thinking Alomar is a low-risk, high-reward type of guy that we need to look for down the stretch...other then the big names that we can get.
  11. Gotta give props to Joe. I did not see the double, but I saw the homer...sweet as hell. For some reason, I kind of had a feeling something good was going to happen and that the game was not going to go to extras. I'd still like to see him shorten his swing though.
  12. And Jessica can actually sing, unlike Ashlee. What really gets me is when siblings feed off of their own siblings success(see the title of this thread)
  13. So it just takes another trade for Everett, and a few implosions by Zambrano, Hawkins, and co for us to get popular again? Works for me
  14. Why not do this...agree to the trade in principle with Houston, and then have Houston give us 72 hours to reach an agreement with Beltran on a contract extension. If we can't, we don't make the deal, simple as that. I am all for the trade...no doubt about that. But if we can't get him signed, we could be in a bad position. BTW, Jas...I'm not so sure we get draft picks for Maggs. We have to offer him arb for that, and to do that, he would get atleast $14 mill, and with him being injured as much as he has been this year, he may end up accepting arb. I'm not sure you can take that risk...but maybe you can, I don't know. I don't own the team.
  15. I agree 100%. No chance that I could agree more. You don't see me complaining about the Twinkies announcers, though they do call their games in favor of the Twins.
  16. That kicked ass! The first thing you hear after Joe hit it was "GAME!" by DJ...I was lmao...too sweet. We lose Frank earlier this month, we lose Maggs yesterday, yet we remain hitting. First place is friggin awesome...I love it. Let's stay there all year now. BTW... Joe Crede
  17. I hate to say this, cuz I'm probably gonna get reamed... Can we just NOT pay attention to Mariotti? Who cares if he is a wind sock and a bandwagon jumper? Who cares that he constantly bashes the Sox? Personally, I could give a s*** what Mariotti says, because quite frankly, he's a dumbass. If you see a dumbass on the street, and he's yelling something stupid, you're not gonna stop and listen to him and wonder what the hell he's talking about, and you're not going to let it affect you, even if it offends you. Jay Mariotti has no effect on the White Sox(unless it is a positive one, where they go out to prove him wrong...if that's the case, let him write s*** about them all day long). Let him blow in the wind, and ignore him. This is a guy that could watch the Sox win game 4 of the World Series, completing a sweet and finishing some absolute domination, and he'd find someway to spin it negatively...they played too hard when they had clearly won, they should not have used Marte in the 8th when they were up 17-1 but rather Neal Cotts, they should have taken the starters out sooner, blah, blah, blah, who gives a s***. I say just ignore him, personally.
  18. Alright, thanks...I knew he batted LH, just wasn't sure if he threw RH...now I know he does. I was pretty sure he had played some 2B before earlier in his career, but couldn't remember if he actually had. Also, I do think Delgado would help. If the price were too high, I wouldn't do it...we can live without him. But if we could get him and he started hitting well, he could very well carry us to the postseason.
  19. :puke I'm not questioning the looks...she's hot....but she cannot sing. And the fact that she's #1 is absolute crap...she should never be #1.
  20. As has been said before...the passing game sucks ass. Running game works well though. You can have real big runs quite often. In fact, in a game I had against Va Tech, I ran the ball almost every time...probably had a run-to-pass ratio of about 6:1...my man(HB #33) ran for 310 yards on 55 carries...whats that tell you?
  21. Problem is, he can't play RF...his arm is too weak. However, he does have a lot of versatility...can play LF, 1B, and maybe 2B...I can't remember if he throws LH or not. There is always the possibility that he could DH with Everett moving to RF...I see nothing wrong with that, personally. Everett is not one of the slickest fielding OFers in the game, but he gets the job done. I do like Catalanotto though, especially as a good #2 hitter. I like that a lot.
  22. I know. I think I'm just tired. Usually, I'm function on 10-12 hours of sleep...tonight, it's only 7. Here is what I meant Harris/Rowand - 2B/CF Rowand/Timo - CF/RF Lee - LF Everett - DH Konerko - 1B Valentin - SS Crede/Uribe - 3B/2B Timo/Crede - RF/3B Alomar/Burke/Davis - C That better and hopefully less confusing?
  23. Oh yeah. And then one time, when I went to it, and it was actually one of my quotes, I was like "Holy s***!" It was awesome.
  24. Yeah, that's what I meant. And when Willie plays, ARow hits in the #2 spot, with Willie leading off, and Timo lower in the order.
