You are not the only one...as long as that is all he throws.
-
Speaking of Scho...to those of you watching the game...did he look sharp?
-
If it's on the feet, like CaliSox said, it's actually more good then bad. Loads the bases. You try to get on base, and if you have to take two on the feet, you take two on the feet. Fernando Vina and David Eckstein have perfected this.

That's what I see on Yahoo.

Well f***ing done. Politte gets his ass. Sweet Wish I could be watching.

Secret message makes it into new park

Didn't PETA one time put a fried chicken head into a little girl's box of McNuggets at McDonalds? I'm pretty sure they did, but my memory is a little shaky. -
Mark Prior possibly out for the year

Would you rather have him pitching for the Twins? Yeah, that's what I thought. -
Yeah and Dick Schaap died in 2001. What the hell was I smoking the night I did this? :banghead

Whoops, my bad...I put a false question out there. Hadn't thought of Boise, Idaho. There's also Juneau, Alaska.

"What are you talking about? I don't se....wait a second. That's it?! My God, he's smaller then me!"

Which is the sad thing. Mariotti's enormous ego is based on complete s***. $10 says that if Maggs is resigned, Mariotti says that the Sox overpaid and should have traded Maggs rather then resign him.
-
4-58 is too much IMO. 4-54 would be much more reasonable, and personally I wouldn't mind seeing 5-65 or so.
-
Just as a question, did you ever feel your clubs and bag were too dirty, so you threw them in a water hazard?
-
Brando, I even have to disagree with you on that one. I remember quite well in a game against the Twins that we lost early last year that someone got a hit to RF, a little blooper that was obviously going to fall in, and Jimenez only got to 2B(or maybe he was on 2B and only got to 3B...it was one of the two). He is a s***ty baserunner, and that's being kind. I too am glad he is gone. His s*** attitude and his s*** defense was not something I liked to watch. I'm glad he's in Ohio playing for Cincinatti.

I'm concerned about the #5 starter spot, and a little concerned about the #4 spot too. I think bullpen depth can be added, and maybe a real good 2Bman or CFer, but right now, I am happy with our team and the way it's been playing.
-
Almost sounds a lot like he's writing this article for CubsTalk, doesn't it? I hope they get Maggs resigned, so we can all write in more letters of how Mariotti is wrong again on so many levels. BTW, I really do not know why many consider this guy a good writer at all. To be a good writer, you have to have facts to support your point, and at one point he says something to the extent of "The two sides say they are close to a deal, but really they are not" and he has nothing to support it. Is he like the ultimate ruling hand who has the final word in everything? Methinks that Sosa is not the biggest ego in this town anymore. :headshake

I said he was gonna break out too. Maybe great minds think alike?

Two reasons they were so close. #1 - Pitching, or more specifically, our lack of real good pitching. There was not a starter in the series who did not give up 5 runs, and in two of the three cases, those runs came late in the ball game(when the bullpen should be fired up...something Ozzie will learn with time). And don't get me started on Koch. #2 - Their offense is clicking right now. IMO, that's almost like stating the obvious. If you score 19 runs in a series, including 9 in one game, you think you'd have the pitching to come away with 1 win...and they didn't. Their offense right now is doing all it can to help, but the pitching is doing nothing to help support it. The offense, in time, will go into a funk and the pitching will have to be there to get it out of a rut. If it is not there, you can count on a huge slump where they could lose 18 of 20. I see them being a team that is very streaky...at this point in time, it kind of reminds me of the 2003 Sox offensively, and the 1998 Sox pitching-wise. We have to continue to win, because just as easily as they could lose 18 of 20, they could also win 15 of 20 with just a little pitching. However, that lineup is one injury away from losing a lot of its strength. If Gonzo, Sweeney, Beltran...any of them...go down with an injury, they are in a world of hurt. As I said in my prior post, you cannot come back in every game. If the pitching doesn't step up soon, they.are.done. I personally think they already are, but I could see them rebounding. I just don't think they are that strong of a team. I don't see them matching up real well against the other strong teams in the other divisions...I don't think they can handle the Yanks, Red Sox, A's, or Angels, and they will have big problems with the Mariners, Rangers, Blue Jays and Orioles, and could even have trouble with Tampa Bay too.

Who didn't see that coming?

I get what you are trying to say, but I don't think that analogy works. To lead the league in steals, you have to steal 50 bases atleast, and in the NL, you would have to have stolen about 70 last year to have beaten Pierre in Florida. Konerko has 4 career stolen bases in over 7 years, which means that at this pace, if he continues to play for about 85 years straight, we will be celebrating Paul Konerko's 50th stolen base. Now, comparing Everett hitting 30 homers each year to Konerko hitting 30 homers each year is an excellent comparison. Both have broken the 30 homer barrier exactly once in their careers(Konerko in 2001 with 31 homers, Everett in 2000 with 34 homers), and both have finished 3 away or fewer from 30 one other time in their careers as well(Everett hit 28 last year with Texas and us, and Konerko hit 27 in 2002). They could hit .300 30 100 .900 each and every year, but .280 25 85 .825 is more reasonable.

This guy could help you with it... Or you can always do this

The first question I'd probably ask him is what in the hell are you doing on a message board. Honest to god, I have no idea what I'd ask him. I wouldn't ask him anything about payroll, because I don't see why we need to have a $70-80 mill payroll. I think he is putting enough money into the team. If I really had to ask him something, I'd probably ask why, if he really wanted one World Series ring more then anything(so much so that he'd trade in all 6 Bulls rings for 1 World Series ring), he wouldn't just sell his share of the Bulls and put more money into the White Sox. That's probably all I would ask him.

Just a complete guess as I barely follow the NBA... East 1 Pacers over Celtics Knicks over injury-ridden Nets Pistons over Bucks Heat over Hornets E2 Pacers over Heat Pistons over Knicks ECF Pistons over Pacers West 1 Wolves over Nuggets Rockets over Lakers(Yao beats Shaq, and Derek Fisher starts to cry again) Spurs over Grizzlies Kings over Mavs(home court is huge in that series; and Dallas is 5, right?) W2 Wolves over Kings Spurs over Rockets WCF Wolves over Spurs NBA Finals Wolves over Pistons Mickelson wins a major, Wolves win the NBA title...the year of jinxes, curses, and flat out bad streaks coming to an end is now here. This is the year that the White Sox, Red Sox, or Cubs finally do win a World Series. Mark my words.

I wish the main White Sox owner posted on here. Do I need to elaborate?

If we played to the level of our competition, we'd be playing like s*** right now and this attitude would overwhelmingly good attitude of the Sox would not be on the board. The Royals are not a good team. They have put together rallies late and have had some damn good comebacks and are still a sub-.500 team. You cannot get comeback every night for 162 games, as it eventually wears on you. IMO, unless someone steps up or they make a big trade within the next month or two, they are already done, and by done I mean they are a s***ty team and will not be a threat to win the division.
