  1. The Eagles have had to have something like 3 or 4 late 4th quarter drives to win games. If McNabb turns it over somehow, someway in 2 of those, which does happen to a few teams now and then, they are 7-5 right now and not 9-3. And they barely friggin beat the Packers. Had Farve been able to grip the ball, I doubt the Eagles win. What I was basically trying to say is that the Eagles have not been dominant really at any time this year.
  2. Wait a second.... There are TWO Tyson Chandler's?!?!?!
  3. I was just going to ask what the point of making the playoffs was, but then I realized, the NFC is weak as hell. There are NO dominant teams in that conference at all. Philadelphia has been shaky, Dallas has proven me right that when they play half-way decent teams, they lose, or they get lucky as hell and win(Giants game anyone?), Minnesota, Green Bay, and Chicago are all talented but not quite good, the Rams are OK, and the Panthers pretty good as well. The Seahawks can play some pretty good football now and then too. Right now, I think that if, hypothetically, Philly, Dallas, any NFC North team, the Rams, Seahawks, and Panthers, I'd have to say that the favorites to go to the Superbowl are Philly and St. Louis....and I think any NFC North team can beat both of those teams(now obviously the Vikings had a close game today against St. Louis, only losing by 31, but the Bears probably should have beaten St. Louis earlier this year, so it's not like they are unbeatable) Doesn't matter who makes it from the NFC. I like the AFC all the way this year.
  4. I bet he is as serious about resigning Colon as he was about signing ARod back in 2000-01.
  5. I don't think so. He won't come crawling back because if he tried to crawl, his belly would hit the ground and he'd be left hanging like Garfield the cat. Seriously, I don't think he'll come back. I think some team will pony up the cash to get him. His price will come down to about $8-10 mill a year, and just as the White Sox offer him a contract, some team like the Diamondbacks or the Mets or the Indians or someone like that will offer him $10 mill a year for 4 years and he'll accpet their deal as well.
  6. I like the rest of your post except this part. Batista may or may not return to Arizona next year. Just depends on what happens in free agency. And you are forgetting Brandon Webb, who, in all reality, should have been rookie of the year. Had like a 2.50 ERA for 4 or 5 months. He had a hell of a year and is a pretty damn good pitcher, so I don't think they have s*** for starting. Sign a decent starter or two and they will be OK. But they won't win the divsion because they most likely gave up as much offense if not more to get Sexson then what they will actually receive from Sexson and Spivey's replacement, as well as Counsell's replacement too.
  7. I get mine from my mechanic
  8. Oh Miami does have a coach. He's just a dumbass. I can't talk though. Atleast the Dolphins have an offensive coordinator.
  9. Yesterday, I was a Dolphins fan. The Bills are out of it, and I hate the Cowboys, so I was about ready to put on the aqua green and neon orange.
  10. Yeah, the key word there is GOOD.
  11. I said relief pitcher. We learned this season that you can have rock solid starting pitching and still have a s***ty pen blow it. However, if we sign a couple decent starters to fill out the rotation and have a rock solid pen, we'll win more 2-1 games, and lose more 10-2 games where the starting staff got the s*** out of of them. The more you can shorten the game by, the better.
  12. I do agree that you can't expect a guy to hit .150 and start the next year, but it wouldn't be too totally surprising. Chone Figgins for Anaheim....hit .167 in 15 games in 02(I realize it is 15 games, which is not a very big timetable), and came back this year and hit .310 when starting. Apparently, Chone, who is a very, very similar player to Willie, figured out how to hit well. I see no reason why Willie couldn't do it either, especially with a similar type player in Ozzie coaching him.
  13. LMAO, that's the way it is with a lot of people. I need to try that sometime. Maybe 5 years down the road......... ............or maybe not!
  14. You want Tony G's replacement....you got it in Belliard. The guy can play quite a few positions and IIRC can handle the bat pretty well. He'll be an OK pickup for some team.
  15. I wish I could prove you wrong, but what you say is more rule then exception. In fact, there is, off the top of my mind right now, ONE exception to that rule. Getting Colon last year was huge and we did not get fleeced, and regardless of who put together the deal, it was the White Sox who benefitted the most from it. We still didn't make the playoffs, so in the end, the move really did not matter.
  16. A couple things I notice about me. I have a wandering eye, and whenever I need to focus on something close to my face(like if I'm reading a book or typing stuff on the computer, etc), it wanders, and it pisses me off. Everyone thinks it's cool, but it starts pissin me off after a while, because I also see double when I do it. Another thing is when I get really frustrated or really pissed off, I sometimes start talking in the 3rd person. I don't even notice it until I either think about it while I'm pissed or if I think about it after I'm pissed. I also talk to myself in the 3rd person when I bowl. But I think a lot of people do that, well, not talk to themself in the 3rd person when they bowl, but when they do something they enjoy doing, and they start messing up, they'll talk to themselves.
  17. What hte hell are you going to do that you'll be able to afford a baseball team? Or are we talking about like a minor league team?
  18. Starting staff - either rob the Expos again and get Javy Vazquez, sign Miguel Batista or Ponson(or both) for $5 mill or so a year, and then if we only sign one, get another solid pitcher(like, and I know many won't like it, but sign a guy like David Wells. He ain't great, but he'd be a solid 3-5 starter, and that's about exactly what he'd be for us). Have Elo as ace, Buehrle at #2, Batista, #3, Wells #4, and Garland #5, and with this rotation where we have a solid staff all around and we aren't top heavy like last year, we never have to skip the #5 guy, and because of this, all get and equal amount of time starting and will virtually never get rusty, and we won't have to go through that Cotts-Wright-Porzio-Stewart type of debacle ever again(or so I hope). Bullpen - the obvious unload Billy Koch is here. What I do with him is trade him to whatever taker we got and give them $1 mill or maybe $1.5 mill and we get a solid prospect or two. I'm thinking trade him to the Mets for David Weathers, like what was planned earlier, and then give them another $500K or $1 mill. Either that or involve him in the Yankee trade I speak of below. That takes care of the middle reliever. I then have Marte as the lefty setup guy, Wunsch as another lefty reliever, resign Sully to a 2 or 3 year extension, sign Chad Fox to a 3 year $5 or $6 mill deal, and then bring in someone else to be the mop-up/swingman type, whether it be in the organization or someone brought in from outside. Offensively, I ship Maggs to either LA, New York, or elsewhere, and I get very good things in return. What I would personally do is trade him to the Yanks with a solid prospect and maybe Koch for Karsay....Karsay was out all of last year with an injury, but I believe he makes less then Koch, so one might think Koch has a better chance of turning it around then Karsay does. Also, I'd think about adding a prospect or two and also getting Jon Lieber. He's coming off of Tommy John surgery, but sometimes pitchers come back stronger when that occurs(and other times, they don't). So I could see like a Maggs, Koch, Diaz, Ginter, and maybe Borchard and maybe a guy like Gload or someone else for Soriano, Johnson, Karsay, and Lieber. That move most likely would not happen and it would be more like Maggs, Diaz, and Ginter for Soriano and Johnson, but it is just a suggestion. It almost completely depletes our AA and AAA team of anything major league ready, but could pay bigtime dividends in the end. And then what I do next is trade Konerko to LA for the absolute best we can get, and KW can't be a dumbass and try to hardball it. If he can get 2 top 10 prospects from the LA, I am pleased. Hell if he can get 1 top 10 prospect and another top 20 prospect, I'd be pretty happy. And for common sense sake, I'll say he gives LA $2 mill, because Dan Evans would have to be more then a dumbass to take on Konerko for $8 mill a year. So at this point, we have Olivo and Alomar back at C, Johnson at 1B, Soriano at 2B, Valentin at SS, Crede at 3B, Lee in LF, Harris in CF, and Rowand in RF, and Thomas DH's. For the bench, I try to resign Graffy, if he wants more then $2.5 mill, I say thanks, but no thanks, then sign Denny Hocking(who I believe is a FA....correct me if I'm wrong). I resign Sandy, and if he either doesn't want to resign or retires, I sign a guy like Flaherty or Mayne, etc. Then I trade for Orlando Palmeiro on the Cards, since I assume he is available because he is a bench player and could be had pretty easily for maybe Ginter or Diaz. I'd have Aaron Miles be the utility IF and someone like Gload or someone else brought in from outside(like Daubach or even another go around with Jeff Liefer, someone like that) to be a 1B/3B/OF type.
  19. So much for that great core of players they had. Bobby Hill, Hee Seop Choi, Juan Cruz and others were supposed to be the future of that team. Hehe, makes me laugh. Lee's a good player though. He strikes out like 125 times a year though, so I guess he'll fit in perfectly with that group. This year they'll lead the league in both K categories....pitching-wise and on offense.
  20. Getting Ozzie is hit or miss. I get the feeling it will be a miss. Also, I HIGHLY doubt we get Colon back. With Boston getting Schilling, assuming he waives his no-trade clause, the Yankees then enter the Colon race as well. With the Angels and Yankees in it....as well as the Orioles who have been mentioned too....I see no way Bart comes back. And that's fine by me. I don't think his arm makes it three years with that jelly on his belly.
  21. For $2 mill? Maybe Anything more....see ya Tony. Great in the clutch, can play any INF spot and the occassional OF game, and is a good hitter off the bench, who runs well. But there are other options out there. For example, I believe Denny Hocking is a FA....he ain't good, but he can play all 8 fielding positions and is a switch hitter.
  22. Seems like it would be a good deal to me. You gotta take risks, and we all know KW can do that(hell he and JR have already taken one this offseason in hiring Ozz, he traded for Koch last year, traded for Ritchie the prior year, and traded for Clayton and Wells in his first winter on the job). Problem is, we all know how those turned out. Still, I'd be in favor of this trade. IMO, we may as well take a risk on Griff. When he is healthy and is playing well and up to his potential, he is a difference maker. He is one of the bigger impact players in the game today. There are things that are measured by stats and then there are things not measured by stats, and he brings those kinds of things. And regarding his s***ty attitude....I don't give a s*** what his attitude is. Ozz won't put up with a s***ty attitude, and I can already tell that, and even if he does continue with it, winning cures all. And if he plays well, and we win, he'll be happy and we'll have a happy clubhouse. I also think it would be cool to have the two best players of the mid-90s on the same team, 10 years later.

    Christmas Season

Christmas season should start on December 1st. That's how I look at it anyways. I also find it quite ridiculous that some stores had their Christmas decoratoins up on like Veterans Day.
  24. OK, so Michigan didn't win it in the 4th quarter, but Perry had 200 total yards including over 150 rushing yards. Can I get a cookie?
