Eliminated from winning the division. It's just worded poorly. When you(and when I say you, I mean anyone) think eliminated, you think out for sure. If they won out(that's a huge 'if'), and ended up I believe 11-5, they would almost certainly make the playoffs. I don't think they'll win out though. In fact, I think they'll go, at the very best, 2-1, and could even go 1-2, losing the next two weeks, and Chad Pennington has proven that the Jets are a good team as well when they beat the Titans, so it's not like their schedule is easy in the next 3 weeks. I just hope for about 10 inches of snow about 10 days from now in Buffalo. That would be sweet as hell.

5th ankle surgery???? Why doesn't he just cut his foot off and use a prosthetic foot and ankle? I can't imagine what kind of pain it is to walk on that. I mean, you roll your ankle just a little bit ONE time and it is probably done again.

Maybe that's why we didn't sign him. Let me tell you though....the one thing seperating the 2003 Blue Jays from being the 2000 White Sox was a good bullpen. Their bullpen had about no good pitchers in it.

KW owns the team, eh? KW had could get nothing done, because he does not control the money, JR does. And what Colon was asking for was too much. I hope he rips his arm to hell next year. The fat f***....how many doughnuts can you buy with an extra $4 million? Good riddance.

Don't forget though, that IS the Domincan League. There's a slight difference between the Dominican League and AAA minor leagues, let alone the Big Leagues. I do see your point however.

I'd say it is best better then ours, but that is too obvious.

Agreed. Miami may not even finish 2nd in the AFC East. The Bills are coming on strong, though they have 3 tough games right here at the end aginast New England, Miami, and Tennessee, though not in that order. The Bills have played very well the past two weeks and might have actually figured s*** out(albeit a day late and a dollar short), and I could easily see them playing a spoilers role. Miami, who apparently played like s*** in the cold plays Philly in Miami(a game they could easily lose), go to Buffalo where they got trampled last year and go back into the cold where they were shutout yesterday by a good defense in New England, and then have the Jets(and I believe if the Bills win out, they would be 4-2 within the division and Miami would be 3-3, and at that point, it would not matter what the hell happened whether or not they beat the Jets because they already would have locked up 3rd place). It's a crazy scenario, but it could play out like that. Anyways, my pick for AFC championship game is New England and Indianapolis....New England winning, going to the Superbowl, and playing the Eagles.

Agreed. I'd never thought about that. We'd still need to get a RFer though....and would that not involve getting rid of Konerko as well? I mean, if you have Lee in LF, Thomas at 1B and Juan Gone DHing, there is no spot for Konerko. If we could trade him to LA for like one reliever(ala Mota or Shuey), and not have to pay a huge amount of salary, I'd be all for it. I'd much rather have a strong pen then a strong rotation, but in all reality, we could have both.

Kenny is maturing. I think he's gonna be a good GM afterall. Thank you Kenny. That's all we wanted to hear.

I still don't see where the hell we would play Juan Gonzalez if we traded Maggs. IIRC, he doesn't have the arm to play RF, and unless he wants to learn how to play 1B, he ain't coming here unless Lee is dealt. It's a risky move. Lee is turning into a hell of a player, and it would be kind of hard to see him go. But if Juan Gone stayed healthy, it would be worth it in the end(assuming he put up the same numbers he did with the Indians). He is a hell of a player when healthy. About Guardado....yeah, it'd be sweet seeing him in a White Sox uniform. I think I love seeing Thomas hit huge ass bombs off of him more though. I think that was almost undoubtedly the best day of the season, by far. Second best probably would be Jose's walk-off against the Cubbies.

But is New England the best team in the NFL both in talent and depth, as well as with having a hell of a head coach? That defense is goddamn tough as nails and they are have a chance to take homefield through-out. Pretty good, well-balanced offense as well. Hell, they're winning with 2nd and 3rd string players. IMO, they are the favorites to win it all. I'm still trying to figure out how the hell the Bills beat them 31-0 in week one. It has been all uphill for them from then.

Since I see no HB, I'll take that. Make me fast(something like 90 or so), pretty agile, young, about 5'10'', 175, Blake Simon. Decent acceleration, and decent at breaking tackles. I figure you should get some s*** from that. Oh, and have me be from some no-name college....like Walla Walla or some s*** like that.

I do agree. USC is #1, yet are not playing for the National Championship? Oklahoma gets absolutely demolished, and they are? Total confusion. Atleast I got my wish....LSU is playing for the National Championship. I hope they get to Jason White about 15 times.
-
I hope you're right. Because quite frankly, I'm not sure what to expect from him. And his 20-25 GIDPs don't help the team, when we already have 3 other guys that do that too.

Mac, there is no way in hell we offer Everett arbitration. We would either lose, or we'd win and pay him about $8 mill a year. You wanna pay Carl Everett $8 mill a year and watch him hit .280 30 100 TOPS? I sure as hell don't. Either he will be resigned, or he will be gone with no compensatory picks in return, plain and simple. I am about 99% sure the latter will occur, and not the former. And do whoever said worst case scenario is that both Colon and Sully accept arbitration, :finger . That's best case scenario Either way, it's win-win. That's the beauty of arbitration and compensatory picks.
-
$5 mill a year? It'd be worth it IMO. He's a pretty rock solid closer. We'd need to get that money somehow though....and that would definately involve trading Koch. Trade Koch for Weathers, with a little thrown in from us(maybe a mid-level prospect or two), and you clear up about $5 mill....and that's your $5 mill a year right there. And then it helps weaken the Twins of course by subtracting from their bullpen strength. I still think they're going to have a good bullpen next year no matter what.
-
And both are being bit in the ass by karma bigtime. Seay's career is damn near over because of injuries I believe and Hill is no longer wonder boy and became trade bait during the middle of the year.
-
And he can play CF and wouldn't be a pain in the ass for us to get into the lineup.
-
Who can forget Hideki Irabu? Anyone remember where he lost his 100 MPH fastball? And also, where did Mac Suzuki ever go? This is a good point you made.

OK, totally forget to mention EVERYTHING Jose does well, yet list the negatives. He hits 25 homers a year, is an excellent baserunner, has pretty damn good range, a very strong arm(but occassionally erratic), and hits well during opportune times. Sure he'll make 20 errors a year, but he won't lead the league(unlike Furcal who had I believe 30 some errors, or about 1 every 5 games). Sure he'll hit .240-.250(the last time Jose hit .230 or below for a full year was 1998, when he hit .224 for Milwaukee). I don't know about anyone else, but if Uribe started over Jose, I would be quite offended. Jose is a much bigger force then Uribe is, undoubtedly.

Holy s***....27-7 KState. This is whacked up s*** right here. Make it 28-7. Holy s***, I was NOT expecting that. :o

You kick it and it doesn't go through the uprights?

Who's at fault for the delayed Konerko deal?
witesoxfan replied to maggsmaggs's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If we give Colon $12 mill, I am going to be totally pissed. He is worth $10 TOPS, and more around $8 mill. And BTW, no offense or anything, but that pen that you had in your second post, would get throttled. I would only have confidence in Marte and Sullivan, and even then, I would have little confidence in Sullivan against lefties. As Jas said, a strong pen is necessary. -
Sex comes from the heart. Damn, maybe it IS a good thing I don't have a girlfriend. $200 bucks for Christmas gifts? Son of a b****, what kind of job to you have? Do you own your own store or what the hell? Wanna drop me a couple hundred or something?

I don't think it could be said in fewer words.
