  1. I predict that LaBron James will score 25 points with 9 rebounds but the Cavs will lose
  2. Let the Yanks overpay for him and then watch as his back and arm go out due to him being so out of shape. If that actually happened, I would laugh my ass off.

    NBA Live 2004

Aboz, I got one question. Do Alberts and Fratello get frustratingly repetitive, like John Madden and Al Michaels do on Madden 04?
  4. Did you see the game today........ :puke Nope, but I heard they played like s***. That's fine. The Sox opened up like s*** too....and they finished somewhere around .500. However, they showed signs of dominance at times. I expect the Bulls to do the exact same thing. Difference being, .500 can get you a decent seed in the NBA....a .500 winning percentage in baseball gets you a front row seat to the playoffs, sitting on your ass at home watching on TV.
  5. Oh man, if you're a Cavs fan, you gotta be expecting some kind of catch. This guy is almost flawless. Very confident, very good all around player, can shoot, can pass, good size, already very well developed, and he shows all kinds of leadership ability, and from the sound of it, does not give a s*** whether or not he scores 15, 20, 30, 40 points, doesn't care if he throws up a double-double....nothing like that....he just wants to win, and if he wins, then he can concentrate on his numbers.....and that's just in the actually game itself. If you want more details, he's very good with the media, says the right things, does not get into a whole lot of trouble(though his incidents last year were not good), and he is very marketable. Man oh man is this guy good. Cleveland basketball will actually be something to watch now.
  6. I see Manny playing for one of 5 teams next year - Red Sox, Yankees, Orioles, Mets, or Dodgers. If I had to narrow that list down....it would be the 3 AL teams, Baltimore, Boston, and New York.
  7. I'm fine with Frank staying here. Now we need a manager that can actually make him his b**** and have him bat 4th, 5th, or 6th. Frank batting in the 3 spot killed us last year. Having a home run guy in the 3 spot does not work. You actually look for an RBI guy in the 3 spot and then a homer/big bat guy in the 4th spot(reason I put big bat is that guys like Manny Ramirez can hit .300 35 140 too....not just hit homers). Just ask the 2002 San Fran Giants. Bonds hit like 50 homers, and I believe he drove in like 110, or 120....maybe I'm off, but I know in 2001, the year he broke the record, he hit 73 homers and only drove in 135 or so. Anyways, having the RBI guy in the 3 spot(in the Giants case, Jeff Kent, or in our case, it would have been Maggs or Lee this past year) and the homer guy in the #4 spot(Bonds or Thomas, whichever guy you are looking at), you can get a lot of runs in a hurry. No big deal....we all knew it was coming, did we not?
  8. Seattle is as cash-strapped now as they have ever been under Nintendos ownership. I don't think they will be the one with Matsui at SS. Anaheim, OTOH.... I think Anaheim gets Tejada. Watch out for LA though. I could definately see them making a run for him, and he'd probably be comfortable there too. They do have Nomo and Ishii.
  9. I don't know enough about the NBA to make some good predictions. However, I will say three things. 1.) The Bulls will be a very dangerous team this year. The depth is there, and they could be one of the teams that will surprise other teams. I could easily see the Bulls making the playoffs as a #6 or #7 seed and then going as far as the conference championships or even the NBA Finals(if they got hot and were coached well enough, that is). That depth could prove vital to them down the stretch. 2.) Watch out of the TWolves. They could easily be one of the better teams in the NBA. If everything gels, I have no doubt that they could take down even the Spurs or Lakers. I look for them to finally win their first playoff series ever. 3.) The Lakers are overrated and overhyped quite a bit. They signed two veterans....big f***ing deal. They still don't have a whole hell of a lot of depth on that team, and if Shaq is hurt for a little while at any time, they could be in a world of hurt. They are better then last year....but the Spurs are better then they were last year too, as are the TWolves and Kings as well. The only team that really did not improve a whole hell of a lot are the Mavs, and that's mainly because they focused more on becoming an all-scoring, no-defense kind of team. You could almost undoubtedly see some 125-124 games between the Mavs and their opponents this year. Anyways, I better give atleast one prediction. My one prediction....TWolves do win their first ever playoff series this year.
  10. If we could get Soriano from New York for Maggs, that would be perfect. We'd already be cutting $22.5 from last year in not resigning Colon and trading Maggs, we'd have speed and a hole filled, and we'd have more money to work with. I just cross my fingers every night hoping that KW makes the right moves this offseason.
  11. I don't know which team wins, but $10 says that someone from the state of Michigan wins.
  12. Why the f*** are you such an asshole? What else can Kenny do? NO OTHER GM could have ever got Jerry to agree to sign a pitcher to the contract he was willing to give Colon. KW is a gamer, and he is the best thing for this organization. Seriously, what can a GM do if someone decides to turn down your best offer, which mind you , is a very fair deal. KW is TRYING to win here.....unless the crappy GMs we have had in the past. It is a shame you are such a moron you cannot see that. I don't see Killa, in this instance, being an asshole. I see him as a person speaking the truth. We won't get Millwood....we will probably get Ponson(wouldn't surprise me if we did....we've had interest in him before), and KW will make a trade this offseason that blows up in our faces. He traded Sirotka for Wells in 01, and that was the worst thing that could have happened to the White Sox in the media at the time. He traded Kipper, Fogg, and Lowe for the Toad in 02....yeah, that was a great move. And this past season, he traded the best closer in the AL, Keith Foulke(though he is, what I like to call, a choker), a decent backup catcher, and a pretty damn good pitching prospect(who was involved in the deal that got them Jose Guillen) for Billy Koch and two minor leaguers(one of whom could be very, very good someday). KW has gotten slapped around and made into other GM's b****es in those deals. I mean, he got practically NOTHING in return for Kip Wells from Pittsburgh, who got Jose Hernandez, Bobby Hill, and some other prospect for Aramis Ramirez and Kenny Lofton. Wanna explain that one to me? I just can't wait for his big move this year!
  13. Don't get me wrong. I think he'll have a solid year next year. But he is NOT Josh Beckett. You cannot ride Jon Garland to a WS title.
  14. JD....you did see Colon's stats down the stretch last year when we really needed him, right? Minus the Twins game, he was LIGHTS OUT, and nearly threw a no-hitter(the two hits he gave up in the entire game....homers. We lose 2-1) That's the #1 dominant starter we expected to get. In fact, the game he won against Boston, Hawk called it "one of the best games he's ever seen pitched. It was the kind of game where he said 'You know what I'm going to throw, see if you can hit me' and they couldn't hit him." If Colon is brought back, we would have 3 very goddamn good starters back next year...Colon, Loaiza, and Buehrle, and if Garland could ever pull his panties out of a wad, he could be ok too. We resign Colon and make solid moves, I like our chances. Those solid moves would include getting rid of Maggs and Konerko, who are making $22 mill combined this year.
  15. I don't see what's wrong with keeping Thomas as long as he is in the right spot in the batting order. Someone needs to get through to him that he is NOT a #3 hitter anymore. If he wants to hit home runs, he should hit in the #4 or #5 spot in the order when he'll come up with 2 outs and runners on more often. This way, his pop outs and ground balls don't necessarily kill us, and his homers give us that extra lift to give us a little momentum and hopefully have a big inning. I personally have no problem with Frank going trying to hit homers(other then the fact that we have the second closest thing to SamME So-So right here on the South Side). Afterall, homers are the quickest and easiest way to get runs on the board. You just can't try to do it on every f***in pitch like we did in that last series against Minny.
  16. Probably more like a waiter at TGI Friday's.
  17. Damn....that would be a killer trade if we could do it. I believe the Yanks have had interest in Maggs before, and I'm sure if we gave them a pretty good prospect we could get them to take on Konerko too. If we could do a Maggs and Konerko for Soriano, Johnson, and Weaver deal(because we have to take on one bad contract), I'd do it in a heartbeat. And then I'd either trade Weaver for whatever we could get, or I'd just flat out dump his ass. This is me going crazy again....but what if we gave up one of our top 5 prospects to them and then did not have to take Weaver on? Not sure who our top 5 would be, but IMO, it would be a good move. We get two relatively cheap bats for the lineup, improve the team, and we don't have to take on any bad contracts. Prospects can always be replaced. Success cannot always be. For example, if we gave them Jeremy Reed, and he was a .320 30 120 player in the future, we could always find someone to replace him....he may not be quite as good, he may cost a little more....but we can get him replaced somehow, someway. Also....with the draft we had this past year, we strengthened our farm system quite a bit, especially in the OF. We still have Borchard in the high levels, and we have Anderson, Sweeney, Nanita, Valido(I know one of those is a SS, just not sure which), and then there are always going to be guys like Reggie Sanders, Jose Cruz Jr, Kenny Lofton, etc, who can be brought in cheaply and will put up relatively decent numbers. Maybe I'm the only person on here that would be crazy enough to do it, but if a Maggs, Konerko, and Reed for Soriano and Johnson trade came up, I would do it in a heartbeat. If it is Honel, Cotts, or some other pitcher, I'd have to think about it. But if it were one of our top hitting prospects....it would be a done deal.
  18. We'll sign and trade for a bunch of guys that play baseball really well and next year we'll have a roster with 25 men on it.
  19. Is it just me, or are the Bills s***ty? If Kevin Gilbride knew how to f***ing run an offense, the Bills wouldn't be in this mess right now. They get the ball in favorable positions the first 4 or so possessions of the game, and they get TWO points in the first quarter? WTF is that? Travis Henry ran for 167 yards against Washington last week, so I got a hell of an idea....LET'S PASS THE BALL! You dumbass Gilbride.
  20. Seattle is looking to pick up Raffie. The only possibility I see is Paulie going to LA for pitching. It was Danny Evans who got Paulie here. So if he still GM, I see that as the only possible destination. The only other far-fetched one is the Reds taking him, if we take Griffey off their hands. I had never thought of that. Konerko for Griffey....I would do that in a nano-second. If Griffey gets hurt, like he has the past 3 years, then, IMO, we lose....obviously. However, Griffey returns to a somewhat decent form, and we have ourselves a steal. Konerko will rarely ever put up better numbers then what he did in 2002(about .300 30 110). However, if Griffey is 100% health wise and plays half-way decent, we could be looking at .270-.280 35 110, and though those numbers aren't incredibly better, you consider that he is a good LH stick in the middle of the lineup and breaks up the righties, and can play a solid CF....I like it. Have Cinci take on $1 mill per year, which means they spend $9 mill a year and we spend $11 mill a year....only adding $2 mill to the payroll....and if it all worked out, we could be one hell of a team next year, especially if we made a trade that involved Maggs and got a s***load of talent in return.
  21. I only have two beefs with TK. One, he hasn't been on an incredible amount of winning teams. I assume it is because Pohlad is a dick and wouldn't spend money, but he only had 6 years where he won 80 games as manager, and he had a stretch of 7 straight losing years. My second beef is that he sticks with guys too long. In 2001, he cost the Twins a shot at winning the division by keeping LaTroy Hawkins in as closer....he finally made the switch in September to Eddie Guardado when Cleveland had virtually already clinched. I'd still take him over Manuel, and TK would be a hell of a move. I don't think it will happen though personally. I believe he has been an instructor at the Twins ST for the past 2 years, even after his retirement.
  22. Not sure if anyone else remembers this but I know I do. Last year when Hideki Matsui was going to file for FA in America, he said that he didn't want to sign with the Yankees. Two or three weeks later, guess who he signed with? Get what I'm saying?
