I don't know why, but Seattle is the LAST team I'd want to play in the playoffs. I'd seriously rather go with the Yankees. It's just the way that Seattle bloops and bleeds that worries. Springfieldfan wanted a reason to be optimistic if we were to go against Seattle. That is definately a reason. Their 1-2-3 comes nothing CLOSE to our 1-2-3 combo, and their #4(Ryan Franklin, I assume....I wouldn't want to mess with Garcia if I were Seattle in the postseason, because he could blow up at any given time) can get lit up(though we didn't do it the last time he pitched against us), because, afterall, he is leading the majors in homers allowed. I like our chances in that department....and that is the only department I like our chances in. Their bullpen kicks our ass any day of the week, their lineup can be just as dangerous as ours, and is a better postseason offense, their defense is much, much, much better then ours, and their coaching staff in general, including their manager, is also better then ours. If we played them in a series, I think they'd win personally.

I hope your not a Blackhawks fan, if you are stay away from sharp objects, and bridges. Why, do you know from experience or something?

Doesn't the fact that you're in Vegas help? I know that living in the city that never sleeps would help a little.

That's pretty good. The best Chimp call of all time came this year in Prior's 16 K game when Jenkins hit the homer to put the Brewers up 5-2. That is the funniest thing I've ever heard Chimp say. The tone of his voice is classic, and the fact that he is so unobjectional made it even funnier.

I see both of your points of view. And you are both right. This team, the way they are playing right now, will not turn it around and get hot like they were right after the break. That team was on fire....they were clicking, and doing a lot of things right. You can't go from being zombies and playing like s*** to doing everything right in one game.....period. It takes, at the very minimum, one week to actually get hot, and usually much more time then that. However, there was a time earlier in the year when we actually were not playing well, but were winning games. We won like 4 of 5 or 7 of 10 or something at one point, and we sucked. That is the team we need to see. When you can play bad and still win, you can do a lot of things.

This was definitely Esteban's worst game of the season. 6 runs :puke. Umps were definitely not giving EL some calls that I thought were clearly strikes. Alomar ejected early for arguing balls and strikes. Everett was misjudging fly balls in CF. White Sox faced another pitcher they never saw and sucked it up..... yet again. JM made alot of coaching errors and misused the BP..... YET AGAIN. Today's game was total Murphy's Law. Let's hope we can get them tomorrow Gotcha. Oh well, go out and get 'em tomorrow....I guess

There's still a lot of season left, and as I have said before, the AL Central team that wins the most of these last 14 games against the other upper 2 teams in the division will win it. One team will be dominant in these games, and if tonight is any sign of the future, it probably will not be the Royals. If I had to put money on a team, I would put it on the White Sox. They have been better head-to-head against the Royals and Twinks then the Royals or Twins have against the other two.

I was very confident tonight. I knew we had Esteban on the hill, and we were facing a Texas team that is a lot weaker since the trades(or atleast since the Everett trade). Normally, when we score 5 runs for Esteban, we win. Did he just not have his stuff tonight or what?

He, just an FYI..... Alomar and Valentin are, quite possibly, the finest DP combo in White Sox history since Aparicio and Fox. Maybe Guillen and Cora was decent, but Alomar and Valentin have turned some killer DPs. No one comes close to Aparicio and Fox(I would have loved to have watch those two work their magic), but I'd have to say Alomar and Valentin are in second.

Springfield...look at our 1-2-3 combo. Then look at Seattle's 1-2-3 combo. You want a reason for optimism....that's it right there. Colon, Buehrle, and Loaiza owns Meche, Moyer, and Piniero. Our offense is just as dangerous as their's is too when we're clicking.

No way do I want to bring Reed up. We would then have two LH power bats coming off the bench in Daubach and Reed, and we'd have no true speed coming off. With Harris, if necessary, we can add a ton of speed and that kind of thing will get our hitters more fastballs. If, say, Paul Konerko gets a leadoff single in the 7th inning, we can then pinch run Harris and put a serious base stealing threat on base. If he steals 2nd, and we get him over, that's a run. That kind of thing can scare pitchers into throwing more fastballs and more fastballs equals more basehits. If I'm thinking correctly, there will be no cannon behind the plate come postseason time, except for Miguel Olivo. That's a huge bonus for us.

They do lack all 3 at times. Talent can only get you so far in this world.

You're right. I'm glad there are more people around here that haven't pressed the "panic" button yet. CWSOX45 No panic here. Its an 85-88 win team, as i said in March. 85-88 wins can and probably will win this division. And once you get to the postseason, anything can happen.

It's been like 2 or 3 weeks atleast since Heather last started a thread with Bmr's name in it!

LOL Getting Madden tomorrow....hoping it will be awesome. Except that the other M & M boys(Madden and Michaels) are horrible. That's the bad thing about in game commentary. It gets very repetitive very quickly. I don't know how many times I've heard Corso and Herbstreit say after punt returns "that was almost a big one" or "he almost went all the way on that one" "he made some good moves there, but too many of them." "yeah, I bet he'd love to have that one back, the field was wide open for a score." And then sometimes, they're just stupid. Say your QB is getting ready to throw, but as he throws, he is hit, the ball falls incomplete. What do they say? "He made a heckuva play there." "Yeah, he got himself in great defensive position and just batted the ball away." Or if you are about to get hit, and you just throw the ball away they'll say "The pressure got to him there" "Yeah, but I think he can hang onto it a little longer and then deliever a good throw." And then Corso and his stupidass 'yo's'....in-game commentary in video games should die.

I take it when you mean he'll "get rocked", you mean he'll walk 6 in 2 innings again, because from what I've heard about Neal, he doesn't get rocked. Well, not the typical rocking. He's the kind of pitcher that decides his own fate, to an extent. I expect a better outing. That's all.

No one said anything about that. They have a major league park there.

It's gotta be the DH-1B thing. What else could it be?

This division will come down to whoever wins the head-to-head matchups with the other division leaders. The Sox will win the head-to-head mathcups. They may not have fire, passion, or killer instinct, but s***, they have handled the Twins and Royals pretty handily the last few times they've met. I think that will do it.

I make predictions when I feel the team is predictable. I don't make predictions when I feel the team is unpredictable. I've made like 5 predictions all season long. What's that tell you?
-
We could get our asses swept by Texas this weekend for all I care. We would probably only be 3 games out of first by weekends end(I think the Twinkies will take 2 of 3 from the Royals). You want a prediction, you'll get one right here. The team that wins this division is the team that plays best head-to-head against the other two division leaders. If we go 10-4 against KC and Minny this year, we'll be playing in October. Same can be said about KC and Minny. I personally think this team will do it. They will get the job done. They have played KC and Minny well, and seem to play the Red Sox well....I can just hope that we get our big 3 atleast 5 starts against the Yanks when we play them(as they are a very strike out prone team and 2 of our 3 can get quite a few strikeouts)

I also heard that in the training mode, you can like sort of gamble your points in those contests. After you do the first contest or whatever, you can do the next one on a harder difficulty and possibly double your points, or you can fail and lose all your points, and you can then do it again too. Sounds like it will be a blast. Question....what's the big difference from NCAA04? Because I know that in NCAA04, defense is easy.

Hey BEGOOD....also forgot to mention ZZ Top and the Allman brothers. And there is a song by the name of "I like to rock." The singer is not coming to mind, but it is a pretty good song.

From what I've read(haven't bought it yet....hopefully will get it tomorrow), it is the best football game EVER. Deepest franchise mode ever, and with the new playmaker thingy, gameplay is much better. If you want me to give you a review of it like within the next 3-5 days, give me a hollar.
