Detroit, KC, Cleveland, and Anaheim. Not much, but KC and Anaheim have decent offenses. We just gotta go out there and put 3 runs up on the board. We put 3 runs up early, I like our chances in both games.

That depends. If Chimp is doing it, I'd probably rather have an ingrown toenail. Anybody other then Chimp's dumbass, and I'll watch the Cubbies.

Heads, don't try this. It would probably hurt too much. I just thought I'd let everyone know an experience I had a year or so ago. I was walking over to the freezer to get a popsicle, and I stubbed my toe on the freezer(hurt like hell, and it actually bled too). Anyways, a couple weeks later, I look at the toe, and I just lift up the toenail, and it came off. I was just able to pull the whole toenail off by myself, no scissors, exacto knifes, novacaine, nothing. It took quite a while to get it grown back in, but it's back in, and it's like nothing ever happened to it. Was kind of neat

What reliever to we have that Seattle would want? We would have had to trade someone for Nelson. We probably would have had to of given up Marte or Gordon. I don't think so. Nelson is a stud(did you see what he did to Boone tonight? When his stuff is on, you'd have to be lucky to even hit the f***ing ball), but I wouldn't want to give up one of our stud relievers to get him.

Which team won the Billy Koch/Keith Foulke trade?
witesoxfan replied to IlliniKrush's topic in Pale Hose Talk
KW has made, IMO, 4 blockbuster deals. 1 of the 4 has worked out. Wells for Sirotka was a s***ty deal because of what occurred after that. All the controversy was terrible for baseball, not only the White Sox. David Wells could have won 15 games for all I care. That's a bad baseball move. Then KW lied his way through the whole thing, saying he had no idea that Sirotka's shoulder was as messed up as it was. Yeah right....biggest asshole ever. Toad for Wells, Fogg, and Lowe....no explanation needed. Koch and two minor leaguers for Foulke, Mark Johnson, and Joe Valentine. Way to go KW, give Oakland the best closer in the league, a very good backup catcher, and another prospect that went towards getting Jose Guillen. What do we have to show for it? Koch's 5.55 or something ERA, a prospect in Holt who is lost and probably never will make it to the majors, and a decent pitching prospect. Gee, I wonder who won that deal? Hernandez for Osuna and Lantigua, and then Colon for Hernandez, Biddle, and Liefer was an incredibly good deal. He gave up 2 relievers(I wouldn't mind having Biddle right now, but, eh, what can you do? Gotta give up some to get some, right?), a decent, but not great by any means, prospect in Lantigua, and Liefer, who is s***ty, for Colon, who is a horse by all means. That is the only move that could be considered a blockbuster that has worked out for the best as far as everything is concerned. Adkins for Durham, Myette for Choice, Baldwin for Masaoka, Majewski(I think), and Berry/Barry(that really wasn't a bad move, just bad for the White Sox to look so stupid, getting the wrong Be(a)rry), all were probably bad moves, but they were not blockbuster deals. Most of them will not effect a team drastically, but some do(for instance, Myette for Choice, or Guerrier for Marte and Yan...one for better, one for worse). There are also some moves, such as Ring, Almonte, and Salvo or whatever his name was for Alomar, and Webster, Rupe, and Fransisco for Everett....no brainers. Glover for Schow....no brainer. Anyone can make those moves. Anyone can sign Loaiza, Daubach, Burke, Gordon, etc....free agent signings. In my mind, KW has made a couple really good trades as GM of the White Sox. He traded Lofton for Diaz and Meaux. Diaz will probably be a good pitcher some day, and Meaux could be a decent lefty out of the pen. That was not his best deal, but was a good deal. Not only did it do that, but it helped the chemistry tremendously. I'd heard several stories about that prick Lofton, and I am glad he is on the Northside. Another good move was trading Alomar Jr. Not only did it open up a roster spot so we could see what JP and MJ were made of(not good, to say the least), but it got us a pretty good prospect, to tell you the truth. Pacheco will be a solid major leaguer some day as well. Another was trading Bobby Howry. We got 2 minor leaguers for Howry, and he might have pitched against a few of their teams this year. I think you get my drift. The other one was the Colon deal. I've explained my reasoning. I like the Marte deal, but we almost got too lucky on that one. I like the Alomar, Everett, and Schow deals, but again, those are no brainers. KW just should never, ever make another blockbuster deal again, without someone helping him through it(like Cashman did in the Colon deal). I mean, if you can only succeed at part of your job 25% of the time, you are either a mediocre ballplayer, or you should be fired. It's one or the other. -
If I may.... Don't count on it

I will not forget the article the guy wrote about Cubs fans and Sox fans. Truly a classic. I know at some point in there, he made a description of some conversation you'd hear. I think this was something like Sox fans would say"Why didn't they pitch Billy Pierce in the '59 World Series? That could have cost them the series" or something to that extent. Then in the Cubs' fans conversation, one would say"Do you know who the Cubs are playing?" and the other(who would be on a cell phone), would ask the person on the phone to hold and would say "The Seattle Seahawks?", and then another person would ask"Do you know how the stock market is doing today, or where I can find out how NASDAQ is doing" or something to the extent. I probably explained it poorly, but it was wicked funny

That even includes a 3-game losing streak. If only you could take that out....
-
I just hope we don't lose 1st place by tomorrow...lol We just gotta go out and win tomorrow, and then win on Sunday. Sunday will be a fun game. I would love to be at that game. Loaiza VS Harden? s***, that could be duel 9-inning shutouts for all I care.

Moronotti got his name for a reason -
You still need a pen even with 3 aces, otherwise we would've just beat the 2 time defending World Series Champs. That's a tough call in my book. Regardless, we do still have something that resembles a pen. Schow, Wunsch, Gordon, and Marte are all pretty good pitchers(aside from Schow's one blowup against KC). Ginter can be solid(though he's not with the big club right now), and I think Wright could be a hell of a reliever too. That's 6 guys. In my book, that's a bullpen, and in all actuality, come postseason time, you really only need 5 guys. Technically, we have more then enough, and depending upon what Manuel does, we may have Garland in the pen too.

Definately. Hell, we led off BBTN. What the hell does that say? To me it screams one thing. People are getting excited about the Chicago White Sox. And I look for a sold out crowd tomorrow. -
Nobody said anything is gonna be easy. But I feel a hell of a lot better with Buehrle, Colon, And Loaiza in the playoffs then I did Jim Parque, Mike Sirotka, And James Baldwin in 2000....lol... As do I. I think that we will atleast get to see if Manuel goes with these 3 and has a very big bullpen in the postseason, or if we go with Garland in game 4.
-
Because "he wants to play for St. Louis." Yeah, that's what I thought too.
-
Robbed Ramon Hernandez of a game-tying homer. And Killa....one thing you should add(or I'll add). It was not that long ago that we were 7 games out of first place, and I believe at some other point in the year, we were even further out. The tides can change really f***ing quickly.
-
What I would like to happen is have that '.5' after Kansas City be '1.5' after tomorrow. That's what first place with a little breathing room looks like.
-
I'm telling you. This is why I like this team's chances in the postseason. We have, count them, 3 big game pitchers. The reason I don't like this team's chances is the lack of range, but apparently Everett made a hell of a catch tonight. I like this team's chances a lot. Getting there will be an obstacle in its own right....but doing something in there will be another totally different beast.
-
I wish I could have gone to this one. That was one HELL of a game. HSC.....happy-f***ing-birthday. She got a Sox win and now they are in first place. How much better can it get?
-
We have 3 aces. That's something nice. And by ace, in this case, I mean big-game pitcher. I'll ask it now, and I'll probably ask it again. How many times have these 3 won an incredibly big game like that for us? Absolutely sick....but I love it

Check this quote out.....I found it kind of interesting That is Jim Tracy talking about Eric Gagne. That could also be Jerry Manuel talking about Damaso Marte or Tom Gordon(but it's not). Just so Jerry knows....regular work does NOT include 44 pitches on one night.

We don't need offensive help. My guess would be(and this is a total guess) is that Miguel goes on the DL and Ginter(or someone) is brought back up
