  2. QUOTE (Soxpranos @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 06:04 PM) I agree, but what can Anderson do that would of made us 3-0 or at least 2-1... absolutely nothing. you cannot prove that
  3. QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 10:44 AM) His value is higher as a 3B. If he can play 3B and he looks to be a major leaguer, trade him or Fields. eh, not quite
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 03:36 PM) No, it obviously had never occurred to you to not drive drunk until this thread. You've been called out. me = pwn3d
  5. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 11:53 AM) Kourtney Kardashian. The best of the Kardashian Klan WANT
  6. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 04:49 PM) If it feels good, do it. thatswhatshesaid
  7. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 01:06 PM) Its so annoying to read these stupid RIP threads and see so many people claim "I will never drink and drive again" just because some baseball player dies when ordinary people die from this ALL the time and its never mentioned. I actually said that a long time ago and was merely continuing a current discussion.
  8. Bill Melton says that Dewayne Wise is basically a rookie in CF, even though his age suggests he is a veteran. Really? Last I checked, 504 career plate appearances qualifies you as a little more than a rookie.
  9. I will drive after 2 beers or 1 other. Nothing beyond that, and I'll always have a water before I go too. Never again will I drive when intoxicated in the least.
  10. if it's been posted already, then it should be posted again. Dugout: Opening Day probably my favorite one in quite some time
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 11:11 AM) He could swoon all of the women in Chicago so badly that they'll all turn communists. Then, next thing we know, we'll have an African American Chicagoan Communist as our President. Wait a minute... s***, get him out of the country now
  12. QUOTE (Soxpranos @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 11:03 AM) Scott Ruffcorn was lights out in the minors as well, he did what in the majors? There's no real harm in giving him a chance though, is there?
  13. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 10:41 AM) Yes, it is. He can't hit, if he can't hit, and he can't field, and he's thirty-freaking one he should just retire. I admire his determination, but it's all for naught when your skillset is that of a leadofff man and you can't leadoff. It's not his fault he was put in the leadoff spot. It's Ozzie and KW's. His skill set is not that of a leadoff man, it's that of a 4th outfielder, and he can be a pretty solid 4th outfielder too. There are a lot of guys around the entire game that could be good 4th outfielders.
  14. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 10:03 AM) In no way do I want BA to be gone, I think his defense can add alot to this team, especially with the current CF situation in such poor shape, but I have seen nothing to indicate Ozzie will ever give him a shot The Sox have played 2 games. Relax. Throughout Spring, Ozzie was talking about how Anderson was going to leadoff versus lefties. That's the most confidence I've ever seen Ozzie have in Anderson, and that can grow pretty quickly if he plays well. If Wise has another couple ohfers, Anderson may get a shot against a righty, and anything can happen from there.
  15. Dude needs to do more background work. The DBacks didn't take Chris Shelton from the Tigers (who was actually the Rangers/Mariners at this point) in the Rule V draft, they took James Skelton from the Tigers. I'm sure there are other details wrong throughout too.
  16. QUOTE (RibbieRubarb @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 07:26 AM) If Kenny ever gets tired of being GM, (and it will be his call) I see Stoney moving right in... I wonder if there is already a secret deal in place...hmmmm. Steve Stone is a much better manager than he is a personnel guy. I seem to recall him being a big proponent of Darin Erstad at the time, and we all saw how that worked out.
  17. QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Apr 8, 2009 -> 01:55 PM) That may be, but Frank was not instrumental in not only saving us from our September skid but also in key plays in the playoffs World Series as well. And not just with his bat. Moot anyway, since no, I doubt he's gonna get an ovation every time he shows up, because he is on another team now. I certainly don't blame him for that, as he's been a question mark for years now. I wish him the best career ever, except when they're playing us. Which I think is fair. of course, Joe Crede never won 2 MVPs and had a 3rd taken away from him in 2000. I'd give him an ovation, but I would never cheer for him at this point, and in fact quite the opposite, I'd cheer for a pop up.
  18. To be quite honest, I don't understand when people say the Bears have no receivers. Technically, yeah, their receiving corps is terrible, but they have two very good tight ends plus a good receiving back too. To me, it appears as though they are the addition of someone like Holt away from having a pretty formidable all-around receiving threat, even if it isn't going to scare the crap out of defenses.
  19. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Apr 8, 2009 -> 10:48 PM) Cutler > Eli Forte > Jacobs (in terms of being an all around RB) I'd probably go with Chicago but that could be my bias speaking. Is it really fair to compare Forte to Jacobs? Jacobs is a first and second down back, and he's off the field come third down. I really think you have to compare Forte and Peterson to Jacobs and Bradshaw (and last year it was Ward). Even if you do, Forte and Jacobs are such different kinds of backs that it makes it near impossible to compare them.
  20. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Apr 8, 2009 -> 05:11 PM) This fanbase just HAS to have someone on the team to attack. Disgusting. actually it's pretty normal. I have absolutely no doubt that every fan base has one player on the team that they can't stand for any number of reasons.
  21. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Apr 8, 2009 -> 09:47 PM) agrees totally,Wise seems like a nice guy but a starting CF he is not, don't boo Wise, boo Ozzie and KW You CAN'T boo Ozzie and KW, you can only boo the product of their decisions. If I were booing Dewayne Wise, it's not because I don't think the dude doesn't have a career in baseball - I still think he'd be a more than adequate 4th outfielder and pinch hitter - but rather because Ozzie and KW put him out there. I think Wise is a huge waste in CF right now, and it's unfortunate that he's still out there.
