And he flat out didn't have enough pieces to make the trade for Cabrera - which does go against KW, but indirectly - and that signing Hunter for $90 mill is a mistake waiting to happen.

I have no problem picking up 1 year stop gaps, trading them at the deadline and picking up any kind of minor league talent possible; the Rangers picked up Max Ramirez that way by trading, coincidentally, Kenny Lofton. However, Lofton is not right for the Sox and he should no longer be considered an option in CF.
