  1. We flat out suck right now with RISP.....this needs to change NOW
  2. DJ: "Late inning Crede"..... This must replace Rally Crede now....
  3. Finally someone in the media decides to expose Moronotti for what he is.....a liar through and through. I know this is not Sox related, but given all the crap Moronotti writes about the Sox, I think this deserves to stay in this forum for all Sox fans to see; so if you can please oblige, mods. ============== http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...,7843597.column
  4. Gary Sheffield is now hurt - tore some webbings in hand is what ESPN said. Die tiggers die....
  5. I do not care about Soriano....would love to have Fuku though
  6. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 07:14 PM) Id say Danks and Masset. Lets hear it for the duo we got from the Rangers But don't you know we gave up perennial Cy Young winner McCarthy???? 60 day DL
  7. Indians and Tiggers do not look that imposing suddenly....Kenny was right; we can win this division if we decide to play every at bat with focus. If only we can cut down on the # of swings on the 1st pitch, we will be so much better.
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 07:30 PM) That was a lame excuse...he was Cubs bound all along. We did offer him more money so I am more inclined to believe that argument that he wanted to be the 1st Japanese player on a club.
  9. He is looking really good, for someone who has never seen MLB pitching.....great eye for walks; excellent OBP etc Which makes me mad because we offered him more money but could not have him because he wanted to be the 1st Japanese player on a club. He would have been perfect in RF for the Sox (moving Dye to LF).....Woulda coulda shoulda....but dang it, his OBP and plate discipline is exactly what the Sox need more of.
  10. Royals up 3-0 in the 6th again.....going for the sweep against the mighty Tiggers....and Cabrera out with a quad injury.....hopefully, we miss playing Cab too this weekend.
  11. QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 06:45 PM) It'd be great to see Danks continue these types of performances throughout the year. Keep in mind, he was a top prospect not too long ago, and did just add another pitch. Hopefully he can stay consistent, a good third starter would be HUGE for this team. In the 1st half of last year, he did get horrible run support too.....I hope our O is more of what we saw in 1st game and less of what we saw in the last 2 games.
  12. Great to win these close games with our O struggling. Going into the season, everyone was more worried about the Danks, Count, Floyd combo instead of Buerhle + Vazquez.....opening series shows the opposite.....too early though, but still funny Detoilet losing 3-0 against the Royals and Cabrera is injured (out with quads issue), so maybe we avoid getting Miggy Cabrera starting tomorrow....
  13. Lets score some runs now....I do not want us playing catch up again today...Lets go O
  14. For those who cannot watch the game (and since game center su(ks), can you pls provide play by play? Thanks
  15. QUOTE(daa84 @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 08:09 PM) i think the decline that magglio will have (because hes simply not as good as he was last year) and the decline to sheffield, pudge (who never gets on base anyways) due to age will be huge....i also dont think granderson will be as good as he was last year....adding miggy will certainly help offset alot of that....but im not sure that guys like polanco will hit .330 (even tho he should be above .300) again this year....what they did last year was ridiculous without cabrera, and im just not sure that they will match it even with cabrera this year.. they are still better than the royals though and they will score tons of runs, just dont expect last years production from all those guys But we are the only team that can have players perform below their career averages.....haven't you seen the great experts on this site tout their wisdom all off-season?
  16. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 08:05 PM) It's nice to see that today, as it would seem to help us. But if you really think that team is not going to hit, you're delusional. Nobody said they will not hit; but to give them the AL Central crown before opening day was a tad bit delusional too. Get my point?
  17. The greatest hitting team ever has scored 3 runs in 2 games, being shut out once by the mighty Royals Yes, it is early, but maybe there is some truth to letting the game be played ON the field
  18. We better win tomorrow after the crap we had to deal with in game 1....
  19. 8 IP; 6 H; 1 ER.....well done Jon.
  20. We have a better OF than last year (Swisher) We have a better SS than last year (OCab) We should get better production from 3B compared to last year (if Crede does not pick it up, I am sure Fields will be up) We have a better BP than last year (see today's game - Masset; Boone looked good; Dotel needs to pick it up) We hit LH pitching better than last year (see today's game) And yet, all we heard all off-season was all kinds of whining and how we had not really improved. Swish and OCab are huge improvements to our O yet people are so blind here all they did in the off season was b!tch b!tch and b!tch more.....and some of these folks here have the nerve to call Cub fans bandwagon.
  21. I continue to be amazed by the people who want to trade Brian Anderson or send him back down to the minors or keep him on the bench after what he has shown this spring. All I hear on this board all the time is people whining and whining and whining and whining and whining and whining about how our farm system stinks and hence we do not have young players who can come through the system and help us win. And now we might have one in BA who is finally making the next step and people want to dump on him. If we start BA, keep Jerry on the bench to start at CF every now and then, and use Swish at LF and Quentin either goes back to minors or subs for Dye when required, what is the problem with that? If Quentin goes back to the minors, doesn't that make our minor system BETTER? How is Quentin not a prospect that when added to our farm, it adds the quality potential we have always wanted....
  22. Intrasquad highlights By Mark Gonzales, 3:30 p.m. TUCSON, Ariz. - Paul Konerko cranked a grand slam off Charlie Haeger to give his team a 5-3 victory over Jim Thome's team in Tuesday's five-inning intrasquad game. Konerko's slam came one-half inning after NIck Swisher ripped a two-run home run off left-hander Carlos Vazquez with two out in the top of the inning. Non-roster invitee Brad Eldred led off the inning with a triple. Eldred also hit a double and scored on Cole Armstrong's sacrifice fly off Mike MacDougal in the third. Javier Vazquez pitched two perfect innings and struck out three in front of two major league scouts. Konerko and Jermaine Dye hit consecutive doubles in the fourth. Nick Masset pitched two scoreless innings.
  23. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 21, 2008 -> 03:50 AM) Kenny's face...wow...so much anger... Phil Ivey Part 2
