Twins getting the next Field of Dreams game against Phils...likely Aug 2027. https://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/article/mlb-will-play-field-of-dreams-game-in-2026-featuring-phillies-and-twins-in-august-showcase-event-175958597.html Surprised it's not the Brewers, though...or Twins vs. Brewers would be a bit better at least because of the regional rivalry. Twins likely to be also rans at that point in the season. Phillies might need to do a retooling without Wheeler as key pieces are aging out.

Doyle was pretty much untouchable last year, at least into the offseason. Started out well this year, wife had a miscarriage and he has spent the rest of the season slumping, then trying to keep his head above water and get back to what he was in 2024. Rockies really wouldn't have a need or interest in flipping him for Robert. A legit big market contender MIGHT have seen enough...

JR is still much more concerned with $150-200 million of accrued debt since 2020. We shall see. If you told JR he could have 4th place and $5 million in profits while declining the 2026 option OR $15 million in losses but a distant second place which option would he actually choose? It would definitely make Getz look like an idiot, but he did the same thing to Hahn with TLR over Hinch. -
Watching the Astros dominate the Sox in 2021... it almost felt inevitable as that season was winding down, going on the road (just like 2008 without Quentin.) 2020 was actually more heartbreaking because most believed they had a pretty decent chance to win. (But the Crochet injury and Keuchel debacle...) So the Sox never came close to experiencing "unprecedented financial flexibility"...for the front office, that meant Grandal Keuchel Lynn Hendriks Kimbrel Graveman Kelly instead. But never ever a real superstar like a Machado or Bryce Harper. "Can't afford to waste a year." Too much B.S. to put it all in the rearview mirror, one that extends all the way back to SportsVision, the White Flag trade and 1994.

And still have $5 million left over....JR approves. Still not convinced they even pull the trigger on Robert's option. -

Could get more valuable autographs from Taiwan LLWS winners... -
Romy Gonzalez third best average against LHPers in the majors for 2024-25...not bad for a waiver claim.

Schildt just can't pull the rights strings against LA. 4-9 head to head 1-7 bullpen record and ghastly ERA against LA. Well over 20+ games over .500 against the the rest of MLB. Left four best relievers on bench with a 2-2 lead at home in the 7th...could have been a knockout punch and a sweep but Dodgers back up off the deck.

Shades of Royce Ring and Aaron Poreda. Hopefully not...

2025 MLB season...catch-all for non-Sox, non AL-Central

Same thing got Strasburg. Wheeler star crossed career with the injuries. Might have had a HoF track. -
Ethan Katz will fix him.

OPS wise. Fedde from a purely statistical standpoint for 3-4 months. -

It's crazy to think that Robert would still be part of the Sox foundation in 2026/27...but doesn't seem totally out of the really of possibility. Colson's swagger and Teel's enthusiasm and simple joy to be playing a kid's game are pretty infectious... -

Colson at 1.3 fWAR entering...should be 1.4 by end of the day. That's around 5ish for a season. Before analytics, the HR/RBI traditional counting numbers on the back of baseball card are pretty unreal as Stone extrapolated them out. Don't remember this kind of tear since Robert 2023 or Abreu's rookie season over a decade ago. -

As long as Colson hits 240ish...he'll be an extremely valuable player. That said, he's probably not a 40+ homer hitter for a full season...25-30 would be fine. -

Warning track power. Welp. Well Robert Colson Benintendi all with very different paths to 227/228. -
They lost all the leverage when Gunnar was a Top 5-10 player in baseball last year...
-
But a 50% improvement is amazing!!! Well, not if you invested into a Cathie Wood fund... It's all about perspective and expectations, though. Definitely more of a positive/optimistic vibe because of July/August Colson Robert Sosa and Teel despite the losing record in recent weeks.

Some are going to argue that he doesn't have the same type of "playoff pressure" pitching as a swing man or mostly mop up for the White Sox. Although he's been used as the opener a few times when there were favor able matchups with opposing lefties. Some that he had the "security" of a new one year contract signed with the Sox in middle of the season. Comfort level, Chicago is hometown? "Alexander went 3-5 with a 6.19 ERA and 30 strikeouts in 21 games and four starts with the Milwaukee Brewers this season before being designated for assignment on June 1. He will wear uniform No. 70. Alexander, who was born in Chicago, has gone 20-33 with a 4.67 ERA and 393 strikeouts in 485.1 career innings pitched over seven major-league seasons with the Detroit Tigers (2019-23), Tampa Bay Rays (2024) and the Brewers (2025)." Gave up 9 r/8 er combined in May against Phillies entering with a 17-2 lead and 4r/3er as last reliever available in extras tied 4-4 against Orioles in an 8-4 loss. "He posted a 9.24 ERA in the month of May." Otherwise, 5 er across the rest of month. 4.61 ERA overall 2025 vs. 4.67 career average over seven seasons...stats normalizing?, like Bummer in ATL or Diekman post Sox? So-so at best in four starts in April/May....14.66 ip/8 er against Cincy COL Detroit Cubs, albeit 12 runs total surrendered So 21 r/16 er across just six season appearances... 16.666 ip 21/16 er 8.64 era as a starter w/ MIL and two disasters vs. Philly/Balt 67.33 ip 29/27 er 3.61 for all other mlb appearances -0.3 fWAR overall -

First ejection for a ballboy?, happened in Quad Cities. Had to have said something after call went against home team. -

That's what happens when 44% of your teammates are traded away. More focus on one's personal stats and future. Sure it will go over well with Twins' fans.

One of the three main Chinese brands a long with Anta and Erke. Basketball has never been much of a thing in Taiwan except for Jeremy Lin, equally claimed by Hangzhou (grandparents), Taiwan and finally Harvard...but because of his Christian faith/mixed ancestry, the Chinese government tamped down on Linsanity even though much more identifiable to kids than a Yao Ming.
