  1. Defund the White Sox Bullpen and Utility Infielder Spending! Doesn’t exactly roll right off the tongue…
  2. This site needs more homages! Such a positive-sounding word…
  3. Those NFT’s and SPAC’s aren’t looking all that great right now…irrational exuberance version 3 or 4. It’s going to be a huge wake up call for those under 35 coasting along with massive gains due to excess liquidity chasing diminishing returns…they were in the right place at the right time, but likely not as brilliant as thought. Now all the leverage is turning against.
  4. He’s not ILed, either? MRI? If it was the dreaded right forearm stiffness…well, TJ is par for the course this season since we haven’t had one yet, lol. Sox just rake in the insurance comp payments, then he’s good to go for the first year of the rebuild in 2024! (Teal/green.)
  5. Thought the Tigers or White Sox signed Antonio Bastardo from the thread title…
  6. Too bad no Bristol anymore. Charlotte has too many distractions, comparatively.
  7. You can’t combine that with Baby Shark. Or maybe only Nancy Faust could…
  8. Engel at age 30 is at 30.5…something’s definitely up physically or psychologically. Covid has been the easy explanation, but it’s a mystery wrapped in an enigma.
  9. Orioles, guys like Mancini or Santander are some of the better options…assuming not all in on Benintendi due to buy high cost that you saw with Adam Frazier All-Star last year.
  10. Stealing a page from Russia and China.
  11. 1.5 fWAR=bargain Just don't look at those ugly prior seasons.
  12. Fine, they have Casali and Wynns right now. There are maybe 7-8 catchers in the entire sport doing "pretty well" offensively right now. We are not talking the 32 year old Grandal of last season. We are talking the banged up (can hardly play in 50% of team's games as an actual catcher) 33 year old version this season. SF is not going to bring in someone who can't throw out opposing baserunners or block pitches...they value defense too much, hence their preference for Casali right now. They're also not going to willingly take on $28-30 million in salary. They're smart...they will get Hahn to pay 40-60% of the remaining money, then with risk level mitigated, they'll happily take him off the White Sox hands as a much better gamble. I would love to hear from all the other SoxTalk posters who would take on the entire Grandal contract...without even having to trade anything in return.
  13. "I think it’s one of those things that’s coming around. You could see it. You see more personality on the field, a lot of people more vocal, showing that they’re having fun. I think the game is heading in a good direction. I’m just not a fan of analytics and all the other things that go on, so I try not to dig too much into that. It’s heading in a great way in terms of personality and being able to show clothes, and show your vibes really." Tim Anderson
  14. The one certainty is super teams aren't guaranteed anything. See the Dodgers winning only one time from 2013 to 2021...nine consecutive seasons of making the post-season with one of the consistent Top 2-3 payrolls in the game. Giants had the best record in years and couldn't get past the Dodgers. Braves were without 2 of their Top 4-5 hitters going into the season and had a number of major pitching injuries, etc.
  15. See Jimenez, Eloy. Exact same problem. At least Vaughn does have a natural position, 1B.
  16. Look at the link, "give role player 'certainty' " That's by definition an oxymoron. Especially for guys over age 32 these days.
  17. Vaughn can't even get over 1.5 if he's going to be playing the corner OF spots and being dragged down by his defense.
  18. That's quite a change of pace from you considering we are still ranked last organizationally with no Top 100 guys and a lousy draft position this year to boot.
  19. They didn't exactly take that approach in Minnesota Cleveland SD or Boston.
  20. I'm all in for a CIA black ops insertion to sprit away the Cuban National coach and bring him to Chicago to fix Robert, Moncada and Grandal.
  21. This thread not aging particularly well. Bring on the Astros!
  22. If it was a law firm, they would be declaring insolvency. Or moving to the Village of Bedford Park.
