  1. Kind of like going from 1983 to 85-86 and how far that set the franchise back in all aspects...at least until hitting on a string of draft picks.
  2. He should have to pass Wordle and Worldle or lose lineup "design" privileges each day.
  3. Bring in a PTSD expert to counsel him. Better than half the fanbase needing clinical treatment. Pretty soon we will have these goofy fan lawsuits about the quality of the product on the field being deceptive/misleading marketing.
  4. Plus proximity to all the minor league affiliates creates a built-in fanbase. That said you do get cramped by Wash and Balt to the north. Nashville you have Reds and Braves and old Cardinals network of radio affiliates going back generations.
  5. I would still rather have Ventura pre clubhouse falling apart than TLR. That said if 2015-16 completely collapsed no Shields trade and things might have been better than where the Sox find themselves standing now. We can't even succeed at failing well.
  6. Vaughn and Moncada have 5 of the 6 hits against Manoah. Why you would actually want to Leury to get an extra at bat late in the game instead inexplicable.
  7. At least you had second year Abreu. But then LaRoche Cabrera Shark underachieving. Back then, we still had pretty big hopes for Avisail Garcia.
  8. They're trying to limit his plate appearances due to the incentive target numbers for next year lol.
  9. This is like the F/14 Tomcat against a 5th Generation fighter. And instead of Maverick, we have TLR as the pilot. Start drinking for courage.
  10. I would honestly rather have Paddy and Hector Gomez. Then we would have Machado at least.
  11. Moncada 3/6 Vaughn 2/5 only hitters with multiple hits against Manoah. Harrison 1/2. Everyone else 0/10.
  12. It's all this idiotic LHB vs RHP. Weren't we worst in majors over a century in that stat recently?
  13. He's much worse than Harrison. Probably better than Burger. I think he had one two hit game with a homer since signing but recently a Moncada like slide with numerous blown opportunities to tie up or take leads with RISP.
  14. He's toast. Fried. This will be moved quickly to MLB catch all section. Padres circling Benintendi already. Trayce Thompson or Mazara not real answers.
  15. This in an interesting read....Sox mentions too. https://www.espn.com/chicago/mlb/story/_/id/9074787/suburbs-not-option-chicago-cubs-move
  16. I meant more operationally, postseason success and attendance/stadium. Obviously not a major market. Cardinals or Giants are closer...but they will never be top 5-6 under JR. Padres now as well in that group. Peak was #7-8 around 2006. But they should never be outside Top 12 if run well.
  17. Let's aspire to be more than the Mariners of the Midwest. Brewers at the VERY least.
  18. Poor Ron. He should get likes for boosting Abreu's trade value. Surprised no Abreu isn't clutch thread yet in the last 12 hours.
  19. Dunning...oops. lol Quintana doesn't count. Floyd/Danks external. Ages. And ages. Hector Santiago?
  20. Monopoly/oligopoly of likes. Conspiracy. You need a blue check mark and insider status, Ron.
  21. That's ridiculous to worry about 2025-26 over 2022-23. He's not some consensus Top 50-100 guy. Montgomery definitely might hesitate...SS is most expensive position to go externally.
  22. What are the betting odds? Don't feel too confident going against Manoah on turf.
  23. I would ask for more than Sheets as the Pirates. Probably Colas or Vera to start with...might not get it of course. Never hurts to ask. Brayan Ramos...although they are building franchise around Hayes. Kelley as second piece...change of scenery guy.
  24. The value is definitely trending in the wrong direction...if they miss the postseason. That said, new tv contract renegotiation in another 2-3 years so not in self interest to burn down all the way without changing the manager and GM first.
