Ray Ray definitely won’t answer unless you address him as “buddy.”

Where would Heyward play? You know JR would force him into the starting lineup in RF for the rest of his deal…seems more unlikely he would ever take on a terrible deal with over $10+ million commitment. Alex Rios days long gone.

“Peters was designated for assignment Thursday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports. Peters managed to reach the majors for the first time this season, and he hit .192/.382/.385 across 34 plate appearances. The bigger concern was his subpar performance with Triple-A Oklahoma City, as he struck at a 28.4 percent rate and had just a 71 wRC+ in 204 plate appearances. His designation opens a spot on the 40-man roster for Danny Duffy (forearm).” cbssportsline.com

Hudson deal done https://www.mlb.com/news/daniel-hudson-trade?partnerId=zh-20210730-445906-mlb-1-A&qid=1026&utm_id=zh-20210730-445906-mlb-1-A&bt_ee=KcI%2BFC%2BQqw56n%2FwqWHKyr3xeEcAKS3TVj3sx2rmTm63NMh3P7k3V82PbMCvw3RG1&bt_ts=1627650238983 For #9 prospect Mason Thompson, who throws harder than Kopech…and who Washington will try to convert to starting in all likelihood. And another obscure prospect.

DJ Peters will be a great help? They actually have to clear four more spots, Knebel and Seager are back soon. Doesn’t mean they don’t have options or that we would win a waiver claim since many rebuilding teams would get to pick before the Sox.

Have to sell Marquee subscriptions for next year somehow…based on Happ, Hoerner, Wisdom and Hendricks? Need some type of plausible hope for the future. Financial savings for the Ricketts Family doesn’t exactly do the trick.

Have to be Lopez…don’t think they can trust Lambert.

When do we enjoy taking on salary?

We are so afraid of trading away significant pieces due to what happened to the Cubs’ window as a result of the Chapman and Q trades that we’re just kind of stuck in limbo…just like our managerial situation. Easier to blame injuries or youth/inexperienced than front office mistakes. Buys them another year. They’ll probably hint at signing a Verlander and pretty much stand pat in the offseason and call the Lynn extension their big move for next year, along with Kopech joining the rotation.

Need another experienced reliever…

Don’t forget this…from May. Speaking with reporters for the first time in nearly 10 months, pitcher Justin Verlander said his recovery from Tommy John surgery performed on his right elbow last fall is progressing smoothly, and he didn’t completely rule out a return to the mound for the Astros this year. Verlander, who had surgery to repair the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow Sept. 30, admitted that pitching in 2021 is a long shot, considering there would be a high risk of reinjury and the Astros would have to march deep into the playoffs. Verlander added that the recovery timeline would make it impossible for him to be a starter until next year. “Do I want to pitch? Absolutely,” Verlander said Friday during a Zoom call with Houston reporters. “There’s a lot of room to go. There’s a lot of things that need to go perfectly from now until then for that even to be a discussion. If that time comes, I’m going to have to talk with my surgeon, all of our staff.” mlb.com

Thompson was successful for about three weeks with the Dodgers….

We’ll see. Those were basically just filler positions when the Sox weren’t really attempting to compete in the playoffs. Beckham came in at the same time as Cabrera, LaRoche, Bonifacio, etc., desperation moves. This is a different situation talking about a key role in the postseason spotlight. Beckham was already finished, he just didn’t know it and held on. Trying to remember if Jordan Danks came back twice as well. But Jackson/Hudson was one of the most memorable and controversial of the KW regime. Escobar/Liriano, not so much. We also haven’t been connected at all to Marcus Semien, for example.

https://www.espn.com/mlb/insider/story/_/id/31913614/max-scherzer-trea-turner-same-deal-here-aced-dodgers-nats-blockbuster Completely forgot they already had AJ Pollock, who has been absolutely raking in July. Basically, this trade means either Taylor (All-Star) or Bellinger, a former MVP, will have to sit the most…incredible. The luxury of having one of the best you g catchers in the game. Even without Bauer, they roll Kershaw/Buehler/Scherzer (pick your #1), Urias, Duffy, Gonsolin, Price, May (IL).
-
But Cooper hates Hudson…it is kind of funny how we usually don’t bring back our former prospects, like Escobar and likely Hudson here. Now Miguel Gonzalez, Sandy Alomar, Adam Eaton, different stories.

4/7, walk, lost an RBI when a baserunner runner was thrown out at home… Only when Ray Ray accepts responsibility for misreading the Frazier trade. We all know that won’t happen. So sure, if the SoxTalk community clamors for it…

We have been hearing all year how we have more injured regulars than nearly any team in baseball... outside the starting rotation (knock on wood.) No room to brag with Jimenez hurt yet again and clearly tempting fate with Vaughn at second base.
-
Red Sox just got Schwarber... uh oh.
-
Frazier "benched." Hosmer 3/5 with a walk since Ray Ray called him out.

Yankees close to acquiring Anthony Rizzo

Well, Greg now won't be able to blame Francona if we can't hold off CLE or Detroit. -
Which Sox position players would actually start for the Dodgers? You would have to take Abreu over Max M. or Bellinger, Anderson over Turner and Seager or Moncada over the other Turner. Robert over Bellinger? Hmmm...
-
Twins losing leverage here...and undoubtedly asking for way too much to begin with. Just as easy to pick up someone like J.Gray who's already familiar with the division.
-
White Sox have no catchers in their pipeline, either…well, Carlos Perez, who profiles more like a backup guy. Then again, so did Narvaez.
