Is it roasted, or toasted? Regardless, not sure that was worth a legit like. “Burned!” is what used to be the cool thing to say. “Not!” but said only in a SBC/Borat voiceover.

Would have to know the #5 starter for the next five seasons vs. Dunning. With Lynn's current numbers and age, hard to imagine finding common ground on an extension. Same with Rodin/Boras Corp. Would never tell wrong year to lose the WORLD/comp pick system, since we desperately need to start restocking the farm system.

This week is the biggest test yet. 14-5 so far vs. KC and DET. Last year, it constituted a much bigger percentage of overall team success. 99-49 RS/RA as well. This year, those two teams once again comprise roughly half the statistical noise. We’re 8 games over .500 in the rest of our games. That said, the best run of baseball, 76-49 or .608, for the White Sox since the first half of the 2006 season when they were up 26 games at the ASB and had just beaten Papelbon. That’s 98.5 and 63.5 extrapolated for a full 162 game season. The only other similar occasions were 2008, that crazy run in the middle of 2010 to get back into contention...then 5 1/2 months in 2012 and the 23-10 start in 2016. Of course, still 121 games under .500 during the Hahn regime. That averages out to around 74-88 or 73-89 for nearly a decade of Sox baseball. We shall see if we can get back to EVEN or at least close to it the next 5-6 seasons. Still an appreciable improvement from the 71-91 average for 2013-2019.

“Romy is gonna be a big leaguer” might be a tad bit premature...

Mostly a political/economics/current affairs media conglomerate ...and one of the better ones out there.

Madrigal goes on 60 day DL, Hamstring tear: Goodwin recalled

Rizzo is going to get hurt now...just to disprove this. Errr...hasn’t he already missed time this year. Maybe the vaccine caused Bryant to regain his MVP form, or Moncada as well? -
Otoh, Cuban Connection!

Ten relievers who could be traded, ranked

Look at his career fWAR numbers...the big question is how much better on defense. -
Plus he can go multiple innings...send Leury back, haha?

The one thing giving WASH hope is the Braves falling into disarray, but you also have a Phillies team determined to advance and looking better after the Yankees’ series this weekend. -
Would love to see Rich Hill/Dick Mountain in Game 3. Yarborough’s another possibility. Patino up from minors. Or Fleming.
-
McClanahan seems like he will either throw a no hitter or get knocked out early...nasty stuff at times. Then, of course, you’ve got Glasnow. And Rich Hill/Dick Mountain is giving every team in baseball fits. Yarborough is solid as well.
-
Hence, Iglesias, Hudson and Rodriguez...maybe Daniel Bard.

McMahon wouldn’t cost a lot and wouldn’t block Madrigal long-term, either. -
Glasnow vs. Lynn, battle of Top Five Cy Young candidates, Keuchel vs. McClanahan (tortoise and the hare, complete contrast in styles), TBD vs. Lucas Giolito. Then Rodon/Cease (possibly Kopech?) against Astros.
-
And Jose Abreu is still not good in clutch situations...DFA candidate, surely.

If Vaughn and Mercedes can pick it up again, they should be fine. That said, veteran insurance in the form of Nelson Cruz, Haniger, Starling Marte, Peralta, Gallo, etc., would be huge. Not to mention it would limit additional exposure to Leury starts. Or they can go in the direction of E.Escobar/Frazier/McMahon at second. We still can’t count on Eaton, nor Robert/Jimenez returning seamlessly. -

With Wright, Lambert, Stiever, Tomshaw and Lopez the only depth (after Kopech), it would behoove them to get an experienced swing guy. Someone mentioned bring Detwiler back. Someone like that, Junior Guerra, etc. Low cost addition that affords you some flexibility while you send Foster down. Definitely stay in touch and keep asking on guys like Iglesias, Hudson and Rodriguez. -

Don’t see Staumont, Barlow, Brentz or Zimmer leaving KC without serious overpays. Of course, they’d be happy to give up Holland or Wade Davis.

Starling Marte. Starlin Castro. fwiw.

Sure, because my satellite package currently includes Aguila de Veracruz games. https://calltothepen.com/2021/05/30/los-angeles-dodgers-yasiel-puig-old-tricks-mexican-league/ https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=puig--000yas 721 ops, only 2 homers in under 100 at bats.
-
He hadn’t given up a run on the season before yesterday...Naylor helped him out or things would have suddenly gotten really interesting.
-
We should set our sights higher than Ross Detwiler. We also have Jace Fry to add to the pen mix.
-
Sign Ketel Marte, how exactly?

Almost 100. Love how Sox fans come out of the woodwork when we beat up Detroit. Let’s hope you are around for every single game thread the next week, and posting so optimistically when we actually face some real competition.
