Who keeps saying we don't really need any more help in the bullpen?????

More sloppy baserunning....trying too hard to force things.

Last post-season, but he has been in the 700's for OPS the majority of this season. Meadows, Lowe and Wendle have been their best hitters, arguably.

This is the lowest I remember Vaughn's OPS in the last 6+ weeks or so... Actually, only 0.55 higher than Leury now, and his defense just isn't good enough with an OPS in the 600's when we are so lacking in power. That said, hard to imagine them sending him down to AAA any time soon.

Mercedes OPS down to .775 now...

Three walks is a bit uncharacteristic out of Lynn...

Four out of five pitches were sliders there to Abreu...

Have to make them pay for that uncharacteristic error...

This would definitely not have been the right game to see in-person...if you only went to one over the course of the season. CLE up 3-0 over the hapless Orioles.

Pretty sure his fWAR was down in the 0.5 range last time I checked. Has gone from a pretty decent signing in the first 4-6 weeks to another Hahn Special already. Would have been much better off with Eddie Rosario, for example...although he hardly has set the world on fire, he's coming around and definitely will put up better numbers overall on the season.

The Bieber injury is going to be yet another excuse to stand pat, but we really need Haniger/Marte/Peralta/Gallo, etc., added to the line-up...to get through the schedule after the All-Star Break for roughly three weeks.

Should we be cheering for the Cubs to keep winning, so they are in a terrible position of selling off a first place team, or NOT getting the talent back in return for guys like Bryant, Baez...possibly Rizzo and Contreras? The rumors claim they are actually considering adding in the next two months, but not sure how much to believe that.

1. Rays (1 last week) The Rays lost one game last week after taking over the top spot, so it’s no surprise they’re back there again. Tampa Bay has won 23 of its past 28 dating back to May 13, outscoring opponents by 86 runs during that stretch. They lead the tough American League East division by three games, and their bullpen leads the AL with a 3.08 ERA, including a 1.59 mark in the past 17 games.

Well, we knew this week wasn't going to be a cakewalk. Hopefully they weren't lulled into a false sense of security. Darned that Chris Archer trade! You look at the starting line-ups though, it STILL seems like the White Sox might have the advantage. Offense is not the strength of TB.

Cleveland has now lost all their opening week starters except Cy Civale to injury or non performance.

Rays again...maybe the Astros if they get lucky with pitching health. Still not convinced Yankees or Blue Jays are quite there yet, either. Red Sox remain the mystery team, in many ways.

See Twins or Indians in the post-season since 2016, or Sox last year...when you’re not tested very much in your own division (see NL West, AL East for the opposite), it makes it a lot more challenging when the playoffs hit. You can’t survive all the little focus/fundamentals mistakes....not holding baserunners or throwing them out, throwing to the wrong bases from the outfield or missing cutoff men, giving away outs, missed double plays, etc. This week will be an interesting barometer of how good they can play without three starters in the lineup against more seasoned, veteran teams with more playoff experience during the last five years.

We need Verlander...haha. In all seriousness, we don’t need to overpay for Scherzer, but we certainly need to fortify the quality depth for our top six, as the falloff to Charlotte arms is 2003 level precipitous. Or late 2000 season worrisome.

Undoubtedly a healthy Hamilton...but another Rodon no hitter would have meant an extra 25-30 pitches at 97-99 mph.
