  1. The patented late/r game comeback where they give Sox fans just enough to tune in tmrw despite Keuchel pitching.
  2. It's not like we didn't shout this to the rooftops all offseason long. Dump Kimbrel off the roster by buying out the option cheaply and at least offer the QO to Rodon.
  3. Yes, but it took Buxton half a decade to get to where he is and he's finally coming into his game just now. He has MVP talent...maybe not the speed tool to dictate games to opponents by stealing bags, but they will eventually give up on him and he will be a star somewhere else. Just watch.
  4. 11-2 Twins over Indians. Royce Lewis first career homer, a grand slam. Polanco and Gary Sanchez starting to heat up.
  5. Fangraphs never liked Jimenez or Madrigal...
  6. Jimenez and Madrigal sure. Moncada jury is still out on. Vaughn and Robert look fine. Pitching looks fine. It's all the veteran crappiness that Hahn has surrounded it with.
  7. There were no goal posts. I said what I expected to have with our limited budget and future commitments. But sure I'd like to have Machado at third, Rodon, Harper and Moncada playing GG defense at second base. I try to live in a non fantasy world. We just had one meeting with Boras and Harper in Vegas just to feign interest for the sake of season ticket sales. And we all know the Machado deal had a poison pill just like the one recently tendered to Gio. It looks good to non sophisticated fans, but it was never going to be accepted ultimately.
  8. JR is owner. Our biggest contract in history is roughly half what the Guardians gave Ramirez. Sure I also believe we will give $275 million to Judge and he'll be injured for the next 5-7 years. The White Sox will never change under this ownership. Be realistic.
  9. I care about actually having a competent defensive RF who can put up at least a 750+ OPS. LH or not.
  10. Except for a UCL tear so he's yet another expensive Sox DH right now. Machado on the other hand is leading the NL MVP race.
  11. I think we've now reached or attained the textbook definition of "mired in mediocrity"...especially for an upper tier payroll. (Other than the Top 3 starters and Luis Robert.)
  12. With DH Burger at second... (We also could have used Sonny Gray instead of letting him go to the Twins.)
  13. After not taking advantage of 2-3 free/additional outs...one a tailor made DP ball off Robert's bat.
  14. Pretty soon Moncada will be in Machado's price range, so there's that to look forward to.
  15. You forgot defense to add health, defense, manager/managing and lack of fundamentals/execution to the problems list...
  16. Wacha was the only one in their price range who has come close to putting up those numbers.
  17. Doesn't matter anymore. Game is almost over for all intents and purposes.
  18. 12 straight NY runs without a Sox response over the span of just four innings of actual play.
  19. This was one of those games that seemed such an easy choice to pick NY it almost looked like a sucker bet. Leury misplaced that of course...shouldn't have been a double. And then Abreu's having to make another difficult scoop play. Anderson could have taken that ball on the fly and had a DP.
  20. But when the Sox miss those chances the other teams always take advantage....seemingly.
  21. What is the usual reason a ball hits off the heel and not end of a fielder's glove? It's because he slightly misread it or overran it. Not saying it was an easy play by any stretch of the imagination.
  22. And you know when you give the Yankees extra opportunities...
  23. Not an error but a play that should have been made more often than not. Engel would have had that ball and the one Leury just missed.
