  1. Garcia has had 75% of the key at bats this season it honestly feels like...
  2. Eaton ops threatening to go under 700 this game...early crowing about him aside, he has been solid for the Sox and stayed on the field, so he’s already better than Mazara, which is still a pretty low bar. Sox hitters now 2/19 against McKenzie this season. Abreu and Robert might be in trouble.
  3. McKenzie reminds one of Carl Edwards, Jr. Wisp-thin.
  4. That swirling wind is another reason not to have Lamb in the outfield. At worst, put Leury there (if you don’t trust Vaughn enough) and Madrigal at second...
  5. Royals behind Duffy destroying the Twins and Shoemaker (their Rodon special), 9-0...only in the fifth. Losing guys like Odorizzi and Hill has really put the Twins back on their heels. Maeda hasn’t been good, either. Also not sure why they gave Dobnak an extension. Finally, I guess I have to take back my Mark Canha dig...must be doing something right to lead the AL in runs scored, right? That also suggests he wouldn’t have been someone the A’s would have parted ways with so easily.
  6. Seems we are somewhat relaxing our SoxTalk “attacks on TLR” guidelines already, lol. Thanks for testing the boundaries of what is still considered as fair play...
  7. It was over a 200 point difference last year in his 2020 games. But this year, almost 600 points. 511 to 1.158. 362 difference for career. But still just 11-12 games (one outing didn’t face any lefties.)
  8. Put the name and number Eckstein #22 on the Madrigal jersey. Played 158 games under TLR his second season in StL.
  9. White Sox hitters 2/16 against McKenzie so far this season. Hopefully they can manage better than a .125 clip this time out.
  10. The Reds have a really good offense, they average 8 runs per game at home, fwiw.
  11. https://www.espn.com/mlb/player/batvspitch/_/id/34954/triston-mckenzie SSS argument goes against Abreu and Robert. That said, those with the “setting up the bench for the postseason” argument...we actually need to get there first. Especially maximizing Rodon and Lynn this year.
  12. "Evidently"... isn't the evidence his decision to start him in the first place? Support from other coaches advocating for Vaughn? Strangely worded if it was a literal translation.
  13. I'm just arguing what TLR thinks he's arguing...the implicit rationalizations going through his head if we attempt to play along with how he thinks in these cases.
  14. Leury’s experience, ability to make contact, platoon splits make him the likelier one to come through...and his success yesterday I guess. Most are going to disagree and argue Vaughn could at least walk and keep the line moving.
  15. Sure, if they keep throwing outside fastballs he’ll just dive out over the plate and pepper the RF line.
  16. Keuchel was an issue coming into the season....at least easily foreseeable to most.
  17. Sounds like a character from Goodfellas...when Benetti says it.
  18. Madrigal wanted three there...smart to pull up.
  19. Now we have to root against the vesting option, sigh...
  20. The trend line since September, Game 2 in the ALDS and 2021...is hardly positive.
  21. Too much wear and tear over the years...has to get by Buehrle/Glavine pinpoint control or lit up. He can’t start another playoff game in this era.
  22. Wouldn’t have gotten DP there on that ball but you have to hit the cutoff man. Or at least throw through him. And this fading version of Keuchel is why we need more pitching insurance.
  23. No reason to throw to third....he always does that. His worst fielding instinct is those unnecessary throws that don't ever show up as errors.
  24. If only we faced Indians and Tigers lineups every time out. Well, that might get just a little bit boring, especially to Greg...
