  1. Kelenic Vargas Acuna Pereira Mead Sosa and Baldwin all fit this profile to one degree or another. Ofc 29 teams basically bet against Murakami as well, or at least couldn't afford to take the risk of playing him everyday as a contender out of the gate. Mune's still the most exciting player on the team though, at least IMO. He's certainly the biggest story on a daily basis. That and the emerging Cholowsky/Lebron duel.
  2. If he was a Cardinal prospect that came out of virtually nowhere...wasn't highly touted or drafted highly and had that utility label ceiling placed upon him from the very beginning, sure. They had that track record of production for decades. Or the Rays, for example. Masters of squeezing surplus value out of the Baldwin profile. With the White Sox, he's going to have to prove it. He's also going to have to beat out Kelenic/Pereira and also demonstrate at least IMPROVING defense in RF.
  3. These 75-81 win total protection getting thrown around now are based on absolutely everything going right. Beyond almost everything going the opposite direction in 2023-24, that just doesn't happen (on the positive side) more than once a decade or two, at least in Sox history. Injury "luck" alone is something that everyone knows will take a massive toll on mlb and milb pitching staffs. The team currently has a ton of names/depth to throw at the rotation and a much better bullpen than recently, but let's at least finish ahead of the Twins before getting too crazy...
  4. A lot of similarities here with Tim Anderson, down to the region of the country he's from. https://www.perfectgame.org/Players/Playerprofile.aspx?ID=672702 94 mph arm strength and one of the best sixty times around with lots of protection remaining in his game. Unique unicorn SS/CF.
  5. Huge upvoming season for Brooks Lee, and Royce Lewis as well. With rising Jenkins and E.Rodriguez both future outfielders, their priorities will be SS/3B and pitching. Keaschall still hasn't proven he can be an everyday 2B from a defensive as well as injury standpoint.
  6. And the heavy union participation/organizing....one of three players kicked off the 8 man committee for trying to stage a coup against (now leader) Meyer which ultimately failed.
  7. Hilarious former Sox/Braves pitcher Terry Forster starring in an unforgettable early 80s music video. Turned 74 recently. Debut with Sox in 1971.
  8. Zero chance for Braden...he hasn't come close to mastering AA yet.
  9. https://www.starnewskorea.com/en/sports/2026/02/23/2026022318503749375#_enliple Team Samurai shut out 4-0 by Fukuoka, with only two hits recorded. Playing without their MLB players until later this week against the Chuinichi Dragons. Miguel Sano sighting today in an exhibition game Also Kenta Maeda signed with Rakuten after ten big league seasons. Yesterday was a 13-3 bloodbath with sixteen hits recorded by Team Japan. Fun AI translation lol.

  11. Baldwin doesn’t have enough of a track record to promise that.
  12. https://www.japantimes.co.jp/sports/2025/10/27/baseball/japanese-baseball/ukyo-shuto-japan-series/&sa=U&ved=2ahUKEwibnMX28O6SAxWiPkQIHXdVEvEQFnoECAoQAg&usg=AOvVaw2yYBlMQ-WqYtNz28RcoMOx This is the fourth OF the Sox need to add for PR/GG defense. Turning 30. Atm, fearing K.Kondoh is getting too old to come over to debut in MLB in his early 30s. Certainly to play CF.
  13. Brazil Lucas Ramirez, 20, is one of the five affiliated players as an outfielder in the Angels organization, and he’s the son of 12-time All-Star Manny Ramirez. Infielder Dante Bichette Jr. is the son of four-time All-Star Dante and older brother of new Met Bo. And perhaps most fascinating of all, 17-year-old Joseph Contreras is the son of 11-year major-league pitcher and 2005 World Series champion Jose Contreras. Joseph is the youngest player in the tournament and also a top prospect in this summer’s draft, a talented right-handed pitcher at a Georgia high school who is committed to Vanderbilt. A strong outing against one of the star-studded lineups in Pool B would be a unique and exciting way to boost his draft stock — and perhaps help Team Brazil make history on the international stage. — Shusterman
  14. Isn't Kelenic only 2-3 years of control remaining? Pretty much has to be a flip candidate, like Murakami.
  15. Sosa is going to be the choice over Meidroth? That only seems like a 1/4 or 1/5 probability… Maybe at DH… But who knows, maybe Lenyn is the completely unexpected star of the WBC.
  16. Don't even think inserting Scott Boras could screw this up...Sox survived the Rodon negotiations, after all. Vaughn and Madrigal were never going to play signing games, either.
  17. https://www.mlb.com/milb/prospects/2023/draft/will-gasparino-800605 No way he slides to the second round, right? 6`6" frame with CF ability...just looks huge compared to Roch and Lebron.
  18. Always think of the Giants...and Orioles, when you hear that distinctive soothing voice. Never a fan of any Bucks but Jack doing the Cards' games with Mike Shannon in the 80s and early 90s.
  19. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ulysses_S._Grant_Home Another Galena highlight...
  20. No highlights of Busfield and Madigan lol? Serious legal charges and that Weapons role weren't on my bingo card. Even Costner had a rough year.
  21. "Scratched from his scheduled spring training start on Saturday due to lower back tightness, Joe Ryan underwent imaging to determine the severity of the issue. According to Dan Hayes of The Athletic, the MRI showed only inflammation in Ryan’s lower back rather than anything structurally concerning. You could sense the relief felt by Twins general manager Jeremy Zoll when he addressed reporters Sunday morning. “He’ll be down for a few days here just to let things calm down,” Zoll said. “We’ll progress him as tolerated and don’t envision this impacting his readiness for Opening Day. As of now, we’re just going to take WBC readiness day by day here before we have anything definitive on that front. We’ll see how things go. But overall, this is about as good of news as you could have.” twinsdaily.com
  22. Two breakaways stopped and that crazy deflection with his stick slightly angled that went right. Had another pad save. The US had that long shot that hit two posts that was crazy it didn't somehow go in, think MacKinnon had a wide open goal from poinot black on the left side and totally missed it.
  23. Typical Guardians' bargain bin late signing...need that O from CF and RF though.
  24. You mean Hostetler/Haber...? Williams hadn't cared about a draft pick for decades.
