Just not sure how we can possibly match up with the Yankees, Blue Jays or Astros this year. Moncada will obviously help, as long as he can stay on the field. But Pollock and those bottom 4-5 guys is abysmal. Such a big difference without the threat of Vaughn in there.

He was a very good pitcher last year and has solid stuff, just walking far too many.

McGuire has actually hit Pivetta well in SSS but of course is not in the lineup. Btw, congrats to the Reds exploding for 7 runs just now, should get win #4 against the lowly Pirates.

Twins 0 for their last 17 with RISP. A's are terrible offensively, totally reliant on pitching. 0-0 with Sonny Gray pulled after 7 k's in the 5th returning after a long layoff. Bieber bombed out of the stadium by the Blue Jays powerhouse.

I’m preemptively claiming “Asches to ashes, dust to dust” for Sunday’s Keuchel start against Wacha and yet still hoping for the reverse jinx to be in play.

Why are apologizing to Hahn, lol? Does he apologize for Pollock, Keuchel, Harrison, McGuire, Leury, Sheets, etc.? Not giving Rodon a QO? The closest it will ever come to that is his rare admission basically calling himself an idiot about the Tatis deal. Once. But his truest impulse is to call us “lazy analysts” for pointing out Jimenez is injury prone and TLR making his “not real fans” assertions when someone questions him.

https://franchisesports.co.uk/baseball-announcers-commentators-ranked/ 6th on this list…and still prefer him for basketball because he has less time to be corny as the action dictates pace of announcing. He needs to start being a bit less deferential to partners if he wants to be a great one. Less like a junior partner and more confident that he’s the one they are tuning in to listen to.

https://www.espn.com/mlb/player/batvspitch/_/id/36071/nick-pivetta Looks like we will get McGuire and Grandal again today. Career .681 ops for active Sox hitters against Pivetta.

There’s a new Simon show, “We Own This City,” out now. Just watched first episode. Depends if you like Jon Bernthal.

Well, he’s suddenly “precioussssss” to that LA bullpen again (Kimbrel, not Easy Strider).

Kelenic finally hits a late inning, seemingly game winning HR, only to be one-upped by a Manny Mar-got Ahead three-run jack for the dagger. Mariners can’t win a game now.

He's terrible. The Padres wanted no part of him. But they are going to get lots of wins against A's, Royals and Tigers this month if their pitching holds up. Pinder swung at ball 4 but not sure he gets the call in that situation on the road. 50/50. A's got a break when Murphy was hitting so it all evened out. Big league debut for overall #1 pick Royce Lewis coming off some injury plagued seasons.

Passed that a-hole Grant Balfour to become the all-time Australian-born MLB saves leader this week...pretty sure 87 now.

They are back on track if the offense can finally run on all cylinders and actually overcome a Keuchel start...

Berman teamed with Graffanino or Nomar for tomorrow's game?

DJ thought he was thrown off by going from two lefties to a RHB.

Survived. Twins holding 2-1 lead with Pagan on to get save...one out in Top of 9.

McEwing has been one of the worst 3B coaches in recent memory. Uncanny ability to make the wrong decisions on a consistent basis.

This is almost a carbon copy of agonizing 1985-1989 White Sox offenses.

Of course.

Walton and Benetti was amusing for the first 3-4 innings even. Making ARod and Jessica Mendoza look like Harwell and Scully.

Fastest time to first all year by Martinez, 27.5 feet per second.

Verdugo has been ice cold recently. We know what that means. Graveman not as effective against lefties.

Guess that wasn't on Burger...at all.

Why is Moncada still on his rehab assignment? Or another player that could/should have been made by Abreu?
