  1. Nice to see three potential members of the 2026 White Sox in the lineup lol. Boring boring boring. Brieske was a high leverage reliever just last year.

  3. Charlotte offensive numbers tend to be misleading...
  4. Not a victory for those pushing for someone new in the bullpen....such as Pallette.
  5. Doesn't seem to be slowing the Cubs down much offensively...
  6. See Jackson Merrill...although he clearly profiles much better in CF than right. Braden seems like our only possibility for RF now...considering the ongoing struggles of Wolkow and Zavala.
  7. How many World Series have the Yankees Mets and Dodgers won since 2000? The same number as the Marlins White Sox and Royals. Three to three. The Giants Astros Red Sox and Cards have done better.
  8. Who are the Dodgers going to start in the post season after Yamamoto?

  10. The Padres' offensive production in left field has increased since they began playing Gavin Sheets there. But, as you may have guessed, that means their first-base/DH production has suffered. Sheets is not a natural left fielder. He was merely the best option on a team that ranks 29th out of 30 in offensive production at the position (per wRC+, an all-encompassing hitting metric). Then, Sheets exited Sunday's series finale against the Pirates after crashing hard into the left-field wall. Sheets' status remains unclear, but whatever the outcome, the Padres should aim to keep him at DH or first base. Their top priority should be adding another bat to a lineup that features a handful of superstars -- but also a couple of glaring holes. There's no better place to do it than left field, a traditionally bat-first position, where it shouldn't be all that difficult to find a decent No. 8 hitter. AJ Cassavell, mlb.com
  11. Other than catcher and RF/Braden...where are they going to get even average big league production in the future? Meidroth and Vargas (3B) maybe...and Bonemer? They would still need to add at least two legit hitters through free agency.
  12. You also can't win without scoring. It's a lot easier to add a pitcher if you have an offense like the Cubs than it is for a bottom tier offense to convince someone to join it as a FA with no or very little protection around him.
  13. Instead of taking Adams or Jordan Guerrero...we'll take Tatis Jr. and give you the privilege of paying off 60% of James Shields' salary Instead. Don't even care about Sosa, but this would be hilarious. (Note they already have Acuna and Baty who can play second.)
  14. Blame McKinven...somehow they found the only position player in Capra actually WORSE than Jacob Amaya.
  15. Angels -57 Pirates -58 White Sox -62 Orioles -93 A's -110 Rockies -183 The SAD SIX. A's fans had a lot of optimism coming into 2025, that has been dashed for now.
  16. Funny you mention 29. That's Jake Burger's age right now. In the end, that trade for Eder turned out to be a big nothing burger, but at least the Marlins got a playoff run out of it.
  17. If you draft a SS or CF, they can basically play anywhere on the field...otoh, if you draft corner guys, it's so much more difficult for them to ever convert and play up the middle. We've spent five years now trying to find a 2B and a replacement for Tim Anderson.
  18. Fletcher? DeLoach? Julks is arguably the one who has hit the best and most consistently, but the White Sox seem to have given up on all three of these guys, along with Elko, Colas, etc. Alex.Canario has a 641 OPS for the Pirates...watching him at age 24 would be a lot more fun than Palacios, who seems to be Venable's new favorite player with Maton off the roster.
  19. That will be blamed on Walter McKinven...along with Capra, lol. Shane Smith, on the other hand, was all Getz. This is somehow worse than last year, because the mood around the team isn't hopeless...but they're boring as hell and have almost zero power outside the veteran hitters and Vargas. Baldwin and Quero have not surprisingly struggled...leaving fans with only Kyle Teel to get excited about. (Things are so bad for the Rockies that they turned to Keston Hiura.)
  20. Shane Smith is also at 57 IP at the 1/3rd mark of the season. Only threw 94.3 IP last year. Highly doubt they're going to have him nearly double his count this season.
  21. But, knowing the White Sox, they'll put Tauchman out there in center and get him hurt again...
  22. This game is so boring I'm switching to the Rockies leading 5 to 4 over the Marlins in Miami...lol. 9-51 or 10-50 (27-135 pace)?
  23. As long as they bring up Fletcher and let him play CF...watching Michael A. Taylor for another 4 months makes absolutely zero sense.
