There's nobody to trade. Gonzalez hasn't proven anything yet, trading Hagen or McDougal or Bonemer makes zero sense. Just super frustrating with three of Guardians' best hitters out now. There is a window...but desperately need Murakami to restabilize the lineup.

Montgomery at SS vs Acuna and the game is long over... Bad luck on Peters' double jumping over the wall as well. At least they can't trade Skubal now. And kind of crazy they're just one game behind the Guardians at this point. They also really need to patch that bullpen somehow.

Clearly just advocating for calling every single prospect up isn't the solution, either. The Sox haven't had to deal with any real hitting struggles among the core group other than Quero...at least once Vargas and Colson got going. Still, it was basically inconceivable that every single hitting prospect was just going to come up and dominate. Unfortunately the Sox are forced to play them due to injuries that have created lineup holes...even if it hinders their long-term development. Gonzalez is one thing. But they really have to be really careful with Braden...

It's fine if it's strictly a development year...you can give players a lot more rope and be patient. Maybe not so much when you are suddenly in win now/playoff mode.

25-35 is probably a lot more realistic. Gonzalez and Braden haven't come close to matching their milb power numbers in the early going...despite all the optimistic surrounding their debuts.

That said, there's a massive correlation between winning and scoring/giving up the first run of the game. Would/should have worked in the Friday night Fedde game vs. Skubal. Just bad luck with the Peters misplay.

if they only see him internally as a high reliever risk with the attendant injury concerns that go with elite velocity…then they would have to at least consider it. He’s the only really intriguing guy other than Bonemer/Carlson. If they still view him as a starter, you don’t trade him at diminished value. Only Gonzalez, if other teams actually buy into his hitting changes remaining effective at the big league level would work then.

Newcomb isn’t exactly super cheap to the Pirates for a role player and Hudson still doesn’t have a long enough track record of mlb success at this point…

Who in God's name would the Pirates possibly want that could help their big league team this season that the White Sox are actually willing to trade? Grant Taylor isn't going anywhere. Seems a lot of people are highly overrating two months of Gonzalez overachieving at Charlotte, especially after Keith Law's comments. And the Pirates already have Nick Gonzalez at second and Griffin at SS anyway. Sandlin fwiw was basically valued at $12.5 million since pretty much everyone already knew Hicks was unlikely to help the Sox.

There’s not that much Japanese corporate money yet until Mune’s long term destination is firmed up. But he has a double value in recruiting Sato and/or Itoh.
