  1. Go to whitesox r/whitesox • 24 days ago WizardCheesey Top 1% Poster Braden Montgomery says he will be in the majors this year. Harold Reynolds agreed. The Curse of Harold Reynolds Hype
  2. https://fanrecap.com/mlbs-best-bargain-signings-of-2025/ Carson Kelly--Cubs Harrison Bader--Twins Griffin Canning--Mets Gavin Sheets--Padres Austin Hays--Reds
  3. The MLB record is 44 one run losses in a season apparently. It's on a reddit thread but can't open it.
  4. Colorado Rockies 2025 12-50 -3 GB Chicago White White 2024 15-47 Chicago White Sox 2025 19-43 +4 GA 51-111 projected 2025 record for COL (FG)
  5. 8 in 422 at-bats for SEA (where homers go to die, according to maximal gravitational pull in that area)
  6. Great, more ex-White Sox bullpen members....overpaid ones, at that. Also, is this the first game of the season that Venable's "OPENER" completely got blown up?
  7. PCA on pace for a 9.72 fWAR. Also, Aaron Judge is going to obliterate all the records if he can keep this up.
  8. As long as MLB is considered a quasi-public institution due to the anti-trust exemption...you can't fairly compare it to a mom and pop store or a Wal-Mart/Costco, either. The trust/buy-in of the community is required for the relationship to work equitably for both sides.
  9. Vasil's ERA looks great, but he's not providing much value according to the fangraphs scale even at sub 2.00. He's definitely someone they SHOULD be looking at as a starter in the second half of the season. The big question is how much he loses off at 94-95 MPH FB, how sustainable it is as a starter.
  10. Meidroth and Vargas both sitting on a 739 OPS...exactly. NOW, if only they could "fix" the bottom five hitters in the line-up, lol.
  11. https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/player/_/id/23742/mike-tauchman White Sox do have control (ARB 3) of Tauchman's rights next year...although it's crazy to imagine putting HIM in CF whenever Robert leaves. RF is fine...until Braden Montgomery arrives, since Veras is miles away from being a viable contributor. Otoh, a team like SD is definitely going to trade for him (first) with how well he's going recently.
  12. And Carlos Rodon in 2021 was just a complete fluke...not to mention he was a 1-3 draft pick, so clearly he had TALENT on his side. What was the best Sox trade return all of last year (not counting Cease/Crochet), arguably Tanner Banks for Bergolla??? ALSO: we keep repeating over and over again that the teams don't trade premium position prospects anymore...but the Padres gave up an All-Star SS (Abrams), an All-Star LF (James Wood), an All-Star pitcher (Mackenzie Gore, who totally shut down the Cubs tonight), plus Washington just debuted Robert Hassell in the OF/DH and pitcher Jarlin Susana isn't far behind. Talk about a huge trade steal for Juan Soto. And yet the Nationals are still miles behind the Phillies Mets and Braves in that division.
  13. https://www.thebaseballcube.com/content/player/209936/#:~:text=Player page for Gage Workman of the Toledo, draft info%2C salary%2C transactions%2C awards and much more! Workman also (now) has an 837 OPS at Toledo...fwiw.
  14. Also, they could have stuck Workman in RF or LF where Palacios is getting time. There's just no way Palacios is going to be anything more than a 650ish OPS 4th-5th outfielder at age 29.
  15. Doesn't want to get jammed by inside fastballs...but that exposes the outer half of the plate to low and away sliders and sweepers.
  16. Fangraphs Playoff Odds currently projects the Rockies to get to 51-111.
  17. 2024 Chicago White Sox 15-47 2025 Colorado Rockies 12-50 This is going to be fascinating...50/50 bet right now the Rockies can beat the 41-121 futility record.
  18. Sox need to sign Nijaree Canady to boost the Elko attendance bump.
  19. Worse than when Beckham mentioned competitive/professional at bats every other sentence?
  20. Yeah. Probably see him in Chicago this year with all the pitching injuries/non-performance.
  21. Meidroth emulating Madrigal on the basepaths. 294/730 looks exactly what we expected out of Nick...maybe a 775 ops on the high side of expectations.
