Anyone who doesn't believe in Covid-19, I'll buy you a ticket for Wuhan. If too scared of the mainland, you can try HK, Taiwan or even Vietnam. Any takers?

This is worse than me comparing Yasiel Puig to Roberto Clemente in 2013-2015 and arguing he could be just as good in CF, lol.

Those contracts were already set in stone years if not almost a decade ago, like the Dodgers' massive contract worth something like $2.5 billion. The Marquee Network was picked up right before the season, should Cubs' fans have boycotted? They would have missed out of a 7-2 start to the season under a new manager.

Back to hating Adam Engel, lol.

Leury has turned out to be one of the better under the radar moves of the last decade...along with the extension. We would be totally screwed without him, because Mendick's not an everyday big league SS.

Or it could simply be that trying to THROW 95-103 MPH cheese wasn't meant for the human elbow/shoulder to be a long-lasting proposition...

It's not fair to ask Dunning or Steiver to jump in that role. They'll find SOMEONE. Likely will be Detwiler, I would guess they would even use that Anderson kid they got from the Phillies before last season who's mostly a bullpen guy. Yelich snapped an 0 for 19 skid, btw.

Do not let Keston Hiura or Yelich beat you. That's all you need to know about their line-up.

We are in trouble with Corbin Burnes. One of their flamethrowers for the middle of the game.

"Rodon was throwing the baseball pretty well." Crap analysis there Brewers' crew. Need Bob Eucker. Efficient? Okay. Logan Morrison already subbed into for Ryon Healy. Short game, haha.

McCann has looked out of sorts so far in this one...well, who can we call up? Any random pitchers in Brazil like Andre Rienzo? Korea or Japan? I guess they're both in midseason, and pitchers from those countries would be insane to come to the US comparing the Covid-19 situations and uncertainty about completing this year.

That could be read in quite a different way, lol...

Anyone want to make a bet that Ross Detwiler goes into the starting rotation? Dunning without much time in the minors to rediscover his command is just like a lamb to slaughter. It's fine to have him in the bullpen, but not pressuring him with a starting role, especially after what happened to Lambert. Throw in YERMIN in the trade bait roster depth list.

They've got to look at packaging Sheets, Collins (maybe), Gonzalez/Adolfo/Rutherford/Basabe. We desperately need starting pitching depth.

Matt Foster getting lose. Rodon probably going to be pulled. There's the danger of banking on a long-term free agent contract if you're a pitcher signed with the Boras Organization.

That would be four infield hits already. Robert's is showing up on box score as a hit again.
-

SAFE. Infield hit. Has to be.
-
8/3 Sox vs Brewers GT
Did they initially rule Robert's ball a hit the first inning? Then throwing error on Arcia? Any chance it gets reversed again on appeal in NYC? Nice play by Gyorko there. Do or die.

Pat Murphy with the Brewers' coaching staff had a heart attack recently. Not sure if Covid-19 related or not.

The best thing they can say "Rodon throwing strikes." No mention that they're 40% cookies.

MAN, Pods has a better arm than Jimenez. Juan Pierre, debatable.

8/3 Sox vs Brewers GT
Going to have to follow the trend of the 2000 team, just bludgeon teams to death. The entire starting rotation pretty much collapsed the last two months that year.

Unless they juiced the gun the last time out and in summer camp, something's just WAY off because he was 92-93 consistently and up into the mid 90's, I think topping out at 96 or maybe even 97.

CONCUSSION PROTOCOL. Maybe Rodon can keep warming up and find another 3-5 MPH on his fastball, lol.
-
8/3 Sox vs Brewers GT
That was definitely an 88 MPH fastball, depending on how far the gun's off. They had Anderson at 89-91 the other feed I was watching, which is pretty darned accurate.
